Fantastic experience: I can honestly say haart in Leeds is an outstanding letting agency and far and away better than my previous agency. While my previous agency seemed to struggle to get viewings and seemed to attract lower quality applicants, resulting in lowball offers, haart managed to get an offer with the very first viewing, where the applicant was a quality professional who offered the asking rate with no fuss and moved in within a week of the offer. All of the above was down to Lauren, who did the viewing and was simply fantastic in securing the tenant and Rafeena, the Head of Lettings, who I can confidently say, is the best Lettings Manager I have ever dealt with. Rafeena is positive, confident, listens, understands landlords, is highly responsive and a pleasure to deal with. Finally, I should also mention Aneesah and Joe, who were both very polite, professional and helpful on the phone. Negative experience: Received a letter claiming there was buyer interest in my area, so I rang the branch to discuss selling. When I asked about fees, the agent proudly declared: “as much as we can possibly get.” Charming. Instead of offering a valuation (you know, the basic starting point of his job), he asked me what I thought my house was worth. After I gave him a figure, he came back with a fee of £6,000 plus VAT on a £375,000 property — delivered with all the finesse of a dodgy market stall pitch. When I politely said that was too high, his comeback was: “Well, another estate agent will help you then.” Translation: “I can’t be bothered.” I’ve genuinely never encountered anyone so gloriously unprofessional. If this is their idea of winning business, I dread to think what their idea of customer service looks like. In short: if you’re looking for transparency, professionalism, or even basic courtesy, you’ll find more of it in a takeaway menu.

Negative experience: This company sends out unsolicited mail that urges homeowners to kick out their current tenants to use Haart's services, as there is "another eager tenant who is in this area to secure a home at the right price". This generic template mail sent by a company that encourages price gouging (so that they take their cut), making both homeowners and tenants lose in the end.

Fantastic experience: Courtney showed me around a property yesterday. She was so friendly and warm and was so helpful - went out of her way to show me the surroundings which was great!

Negative experience: I am a landlord who decided to sign up with HAART to rent out my house. They told me they could find tennants for a higher price than what I had been advertising over the past few years. The reality is that they can't even find tennants for a lower price than what I was able to do independently myself. I would strongly advise any landlords to avoid this company.

Negative experience: Very Worst Experience with HAART If you’re thinking about doing business with HAART, please do yourself a favor: don’t rely on their glowing Google reviews. Check Trustpilot, check forums, check anywhere else — you’ll see the real picture. I waited until the end of my tenancy (an entire year) before writing this, hoping time would soften my frustration. It hasn’t. My experience with HAART was, without exaggeration, the most stressful and unprofessional I’ve ever had with a letting agency. It all started at the very beginning. After paying the deposit and signing the contract with my friend, we were immediately thrown into chaos. The negotiator assigned to us seemed either unaware of the UK’s Right to Rent rules or simply unwilling to follow them. She insisted my friend (who was abroad) provide a share code, even though we showed her the official regulations proving alternative evidence was valid. Instead of checking with her senior staff or reading the rules, she repeatedly threatened to put the property back on the market and warned we’d “lose the deposit.” It took our student visa advisor intervening before she finally admitted the rules we had pointed out were correct. By then, the damage was done: my move-in date was delayed, and I had to spend extra money and time in temporary accommodation — stress and cost that could have been avoided entirely. When we finally moved in, the nightmare only grew. The house was handed to us in a mess, which was no surprise after the viewing. But what was shocking was the absolute lack of clarity: HAART told us never to contact the landlord directly, yet the landlord started messaging us anyway — about repairs, about damages, about things that weren’t even our fault. My impression? Even the landlord knew HAART was useless and had no choice but to bypass them. Then, when it suited her, she flipped back and told us to “go through HAART.” Of course, HAART did nothing either way. Example: the toilet bowl leaked constantly. We reported it. They ignored it until my student union caseworker finally intervened. Another example: the balcony door. From day one, it was broken. The landlord admitted it wasn’t our fault, but HAART never fixed it. In the middle of winter, we asked repeatedly, and their “solution” was sending out locksmith after locksmith — some admitted they couldn’t fix it, others made false reports, and a few tried but failed. Weeks turned into months. We eventually stuffed plastic bags into the gaps just to survive the cold. By the end of the tenancy, the door was still broken — a perfect symbol of HAART’s incompetence. And then came the final insult: the deposit. Of course, we lost part of it. I wasn’t even surprised. HAART charged us for damages that were there long before we moved in and provided no proper evidence. It was the cherry on top of a year defined by threats, delays, ignorance of the law, and complete unprofessionalism. To be clear: almost every staff member I dealt with was rude, dismissive, and unwilling to take responsibility. Listening, communication, and professionalism clearly aren’t part of their training. This agency has no control over the landlord, no accountability, and no respect for tenants. So thank you, HAART, for giving me a crash course in how not to run a business. I’ll be making sure every student and newcomer in Leeds — and anyone else considering you — knows exactly what kind of nightmare to expect. Nobody deserves to go through what we did.

Negative experience: If I could give 0 stars I would. Where do I even start. First things first, all the good reviews you see are because they beg you for a good review after just viewing a property, but god forbid you move into a property that has outstanding maintenance issues…they do anything and everything to NOT solve them. Just a few of my issues included no council bins being provided (green, black & brown) because they were not ordered or paid for. This is still outstanding today which marks 6 weeks since I moved in. I am constantly chasing them to sort it out but they ignore my emails majority of the time, if ai get a reply they lie and say the bins are due to be delivered but they council told me they still havent been paid for. Other issues include a dishwasher that didn’t work for 5 and a half weeks, no hot water for 10 days, a broken bath for 4 days, a bathroom door that doesn’t shut for 6 weeks, and the list goes on. Perhaps naming names will help them pay attention, but then again it probably won’t but I’ll name them anyway - Dennika Edwards, David Hogg (these 2 both don’t reply especially the latter, funny because they’re both in high positions), Adil Akbar - constantly lies about chasing jobs and sounds half asleep when talking on the phone. Avoid this agency at all costs.

Negative experience: Terrible experience with Haart from the start to finish as a landlord. Would urge anyone to use a different agency. The lack of communication and sheer indeptitude from the agency is astounding. They mis-marketed my property, making several errors and taking very poor photos. They've now charged me for work I didn't consent to, a gas certificate that has already been completed. I didn't find out about this until a month later though as they are evasive and don't reply to my emails, I just got emailed the receipt a month later when I continued to ask why I happened been paid the full amount of rent I was owed. The communication as a whole is extremely poor, making life very stressful and difficult for me since I live abroad. When asked why my payment didn't match the online portal, I was told the portal is 'often inaccurate'. They were initially lovely to get my business but don't be fooled by this agency.

Negative experience: Very worst service The agency is not taking responsibility for anything after we move in once. Always give excuses for everything. Don’t care about tanent, family and health issues. Not even replying emails. They are not passing information from tanent to landlords. Would not recommend anyone to go through this agency. They already neglected and abusive as well. They are forcing tanent to pay or to stay in the unfit property with mould, damage and leaking like issues and are solving any issues.

Negative experience: Unfortunately what started well, ended up with an extremely poor experience by the end. Credit to Joe, he did try his best after he was basically thrown into a situation at Haart not caused by him. However, we hired Haart to do a job, and they ultimately failed in keeping their end of the contract. The pre-sale portion of the process went really well. Joe and Stuart were very communicative, on time for each viewing, and managed the process really well. Unfortunately, once the house sold, is where we started having issues. We accepted an offer and started the process. 4 weeks went by without hearing a word from Haart. I eventually managed to speak with Scott, the manager. After failing to call me back when agreed ( an ongoing issue ), he informed me that the seller had pulled out, and we needed to start viewing again. He was unable to give me any information about why they pulled out, when they pulled out. Its clear that there was no work done by Haart in those 4 weeks to actually follow up with the buyers, and no checks were made on progress After further issues with Haart in regards to communication ( failed updates, not doing what they said they would do ), I requested a phone call with Scott to discuss their lack of communication, and what they were going to do to resolve it. The phone call was booked for 9.30am. That time came and went with no call. I eventually got a call from Scott 2 hours later, where he said that some 'developers' had walked into the office just as he was going to call me. I fail to see why he couldnt tell them to wait, and call me as agreed. This was a phone call to discuss Haarts lack of communication, and Scott thought the best idea was to skip my call, and ring me 2 hours later. Progression was eventually taken back over by Laura, who we hoped would move things along quicker. Unfortunately again we continued to have issues. Failed promises of updates, lack of communication, no actual progression. My understanding was that Haart was going to push the process for us and try to make things move quicker, however, all that I really got from Laura was a weekly email explaining what the solicitors had told her. On a number of occasions, I was told there was no update, as the solicitor hadn't responded. At no point in the process did it feel like Haart were actually progressing anything, and instead were just actings as messengers between the different companies. In the end, I started dealing with the solicitors and buyers directly. Most of the team at Haart left, leaving Joe to try and run the entire branch by himself, meaning communication dropped to essentially 0. I don't blame Joe himself, he has been thrown into a poor situation, but Haart failed to uphold their agreement. I did put all these issues forward to Haart, and was given their 'maximum' discount allowed, of £150 + VAT. Haart charges substantially more than other estate agents. Had I gone with someone like W.H.Brown, it would have probably saved me around £1300. After a lot of co-ordination, we eventually managed to complete on 16th December. As of today ( 5th Jan 2025 ), I've still never heard anything from Haart. The last communication I had with them was 12th December 2024.

Negative experience: There aren't many mistakes I've made in life but working with Haarts is most certainly one of them. Their lack of empathy and care to their clients is pretty impressive if I'm honest. Unfortunately the tenants that they put in place decided to stop paying rent. When I looked into it, it seems Haarts didn't do all the checks they should have done. It was definitely a half-arsed attempt from them. I've bought a few properties now and work with clients buying properties and I've never heard a good word about them. I wish someone had warned me before I 'gave them a go'. Take this as a warning for anyone that reads it and thinks about working with them; It will cost you money!

Negative experience: Sam was beyond helpful. He answer every question and more. Being new to Leeds, Sam really helped me decide and made me feel welcome. Apologies again for arriving later than expected time. Update: Sam was a helpful person but Haart can’t provide a good service let alone pick up the phone to listen to ordinary property issues well within their work scope. They usually shift the blame to either tenants or landlord.

Fantastic experience: Barbara helped me change a viewing time so I could book my travel, she did it asap and texted me, that’s the kind of service I appreciate, good work Barbara. Next Luke helped me out by going over and above, literally the extra mile by picking me up when my phone died on google maps and I had no idea how to get to the property. Stewart was also on hand answering my questions as well as Luke. No question too big or too small for this team. I like these vibes.
