Negative experience: We instructed Devenports in June 2025 to sell our property. The sale ultimately completed successfully. During the marketing process, the agency distributed a leaflet featuring our home which stated that it had generated 17 viewings and 3 offers. In reality, there had been 7 viewings and 1 offer. The agency later acknowledged that the figures were incorrect and attributed the error to a template used by their external designer. A correction leaflet was subsequently distributed. While the sale itself was not financially affected, I remained concerned about the accuracy of the original marketing material and the way the matter was handled once raised. The Property Ombudsman accepted the complaint for assessment and agreed that the marketing material had not been correct prior to distribution. However, as no financial loss had arisen and a correction had been issued, no compensation was awarded. Based on this experience, I would not instruct this agent again and would encourage prospective sellers to ensure that any marketing information relating to their property is accurate before distribution.

Over the past month, I had the opportunity to work with Devenports both as a tenant and as a landlord. In mid-October, we decided to move from Hampton to Twickenham — to let out our own property and rent a new one near Twickenham or Strawberry Hill station. We viewed a property listed by Devenports and were pleasantly surprised by how smooth and professional the entire process was. From the moment I expressed interest, Jessie, Carter and Tom kept us informed at every stage and provided great support during negotiations with the landlord. The reference check process was straightforward and efficient, allowing us to secure the property within just a few days. Once we found our new rental home, we began the process of letting out our own property — and there was no doubt which agency we would choose. Our house was beautifully photographed and listed on the market within a few days. The only challenge was that our new rental property came partially furnished, so we needed to let ours out on the same basis. Even then, Devenports handled everything seamlessly: we had several viewings and received multiple offers, one of which we’ve already accepted. Jessie and Carter went above and beyond to coordinate meetings with both the landlord and prospective tenants to align on which furniture would stay and which we’d take with us.
