Fantastic experience: I am very pleased to report another successful completion by Jo of Cairds Ashtead Office. From the initial introduction of the purchaser to completion I was kept informed of progress and my calls and emails were always returned. Viewings were carried out seamlessly and I was kept notified of feedback. A very satisfied client.

Negative experience: I used Cairds Ashtead to market my property but they weren't able to sell it. Most buyers want to view on Saturdays but as the office is small their viewing capability is limited and I wonder if this had an impact. One one occasion, the viewing didn't complete as the agent stood outside the property and (according to the tenant) didn't even knock so the buyer had to leave. Another occasion led to the same agent claiming siginificant work needed to be done according to a "report" but when requesting to see the evidence (even a copy of the report wording) they demanded I pay for it? Pay for a report I didn't ask for, claiming something that I don't believe to be true? Obviously I declined as this made no sense. I notified the manager that I wanted to stop using them and I recieved a one line response "all the best", which ironically says a lot. Long story short, went to another local agent and property has completed sale! Looking at the reviews, they clearly have some success but my review is based on a property which did not sell, so I'm in a fortunate position I can be very honest about the service.

Fantastic experience: As a buyer looking in the Ashtead area, I really enjoyed working with Jo at Cairds. It took us just over 6 months to find our home, and during that time she remained in contact and would let us know about upcoming properties that fit our criteria. Her communication during the buying process was consistent and helpful and made everything go smoothly. She was very good at keeping us updated and worked with all parties to find a completion date that would work for everyone.

Negative experience: Stop contacting me. I will report to ICO for breach of data. Updated- called my mobile, talked over me and seemed to think calling my mobile, that I did not consent to store was reasonable approach to address my complaint. Breaching data again. Just take me off your system. Do not dig out my mobile number and call me, I clearly do not want to be contacted. just stop storing my data that I did not opt into.

I honestly don’t think this sale would have completed without Gavin’s diligence and professionalism. Fantastic experience: I felt that Cairds had a clear idea about how to market and sell the property. Jo and Gavin were involved from the very first meeting and remained as the primary contacts throughout, although most of my day to day contact was with Jo. She manoeuvred us all through a process which at times had potential to fall through or cause real headaches for either us or the purchaser. She remained calm, pleasant and resourceful and made the process as stress-free as possible for us all. Cairds arranged for a number of interested people to visit but we received a fair offer very quickly. A small point, but unlike other agents Cairds always answered the phone within a few rings, which I did not experience with another agent. Ashtead is lucky to have a number of good estate agents to choose from but I am very pleased that, for me I made the right choice to instruct Cairds.

Fantastic experience: My wife and I had viewed a handful of homes in Ashtead before chancing upon a Cairds For Sale sign outside a property that caught our eye. It was 2PM on a Saturday. We called the office. Explained we had come down from Norfolk and asked if they had time to show us the house that afternoon. An hour later we were greeted by Gavin the branch manager. Our first impression was that both the lady who took the appointment and Gavin were switched on. By Monday afternoon we had agreed a price! Gavin was efficient and timely at getting both sides to agree a price and kept the ball moving through to completion. When we called or emailed they would get right back to us. When there was a delay in the conveyancing process, Gavin would chase it down. In the end we felt as though the house picked us, but if we ever do sell we will definitely pick Cairds. Top class job all round.
