They are truly professional, helpful, and always go out of their way to look after their clients. Whether it’s property management, finding tenants, or in this case handling the sale and finding a buyer, they really know what they’re doing. I’ve worked with Debbie, Deborah and the team for over a decade, and they’ve been amazing throughout. This is simply an honest review about good people who run a very tight ship. One example says it all. The property was empty while we were waiting for the paperwork to go through. The weather was awful — around minus three degrees — and I live overseas. Debbie and Deborah kindly arranged for a colleague to visit the house during the bad weather, just to make sure the pipes were okay and to turn the heating on low auto. That was completely above and beyond their duty. Choose them, they wont let you down. Thank you so much, guys. Truly appreciated. Previous Review The Best! As a landlord I have used several letting agents in the past. I have always had issues with them. I live overseas and I needed a company to truly be me. To truly look after my hard earned investment as if they meant something. All I can say without prejudice is that Manson’s are clearly market leaders. They are without doubt the best out there. Debbie, Angela, Cindy, Graeme, Gav and Nick are just superb. A boutique firm with a very professional approach. I would recommend Manson’s blindly. They do truly go the extra mile and they are very much value for money. I promise you Manson’s are genuine, honest and care. I have never regretted choosing them.

Negative experience: DO NOT RENT A PROPERTY WITH MANSONS IF YOU ARE A STUDENT! As a house of four students living in Jesmond this year, we had an extremely poor experience with Mansons. When we collected the keys in August 2024, we immediately complained via email about the property’s cleanliness, as it was not in a satisfactory condition for move-in. This complaint was completely ignored. Throughout our tenancy, we had a recurring drainage issue with the shower. Despite raising this multiple times, Mansons failed to resolve it properly. The problem eventually became so severe that water leaked into the kitchen, creating a serious risk of the ceiling collapsing. We were repeatedly misinformed about when contractors would attend, often missing lectures and waiting at the property all day to no avail. When repairs finally took place, we were left without a working shower for over a week and forced to live in a dusty, loud, and unfinished environment in both the bathroom and kitchen. As this was the only shower in the property, some tenants had no choice but to temporarily move out just to properly wash. At the end of our tenancy, we faced further issues with the return of our deposits. A professional deep clean had been carried out prior to check-out, leaving the property cleaner than when we arrived (which was particularly frustrating). The pre check-out inspector even told us it was the cleanest he had seen the property, giving us a false sense of security that there was no major issues. Yet, in the post check-out inspection, a number of alleged “cleaning issues” suddenly appeared, resulting in significant and entirely unjustified deductions. When we raised this with Debbie, who was handling the deposit return, she claimed the inspector never said this, and if he did, it was because he was unfamiliar with the property. This felt like we were being misled and taken advantage of as students, paying full rent for a property that had already caused repeated disruption and stress. The contradictions between the pre and post check-out inspections, coupled with the misleading explanations from Mansons, made the deposit process feel like an unfair attempt to recoup money from students. Debbie’s communication throughout was dismissive, unhelpful, and often untruthful. She showed no understanding or empathy for the numerous issues we faced and never offered an apology. At one point, she even denied that we had ever complained about the lack of shower facilities, the leaking kitchen ceiling, or the dust and building noise throughout the house during the works carried out! If you are a student renting with Mansons, take photos of everything, record all phone calls, and keep detailed notes of every interaction; otherwise, any evidence may be disregarded. For example, our email complaint in August 2024 listing issues of the properties cleanliness was disregarded because we didn't provide specific photos. Overall, our experience with Mansons was unprofessional, negligent, and completely lacking in any kind of accountability. We strongly advise any students considering renting in Jesmond to avoid Mansons entirely!!

Negative experience: AVOID *** Terrible experience as students and we completely feel as though we have been taken advantage of! Communication was always unhelpful and maintenance issues always took months to be resolved. Full deposit was never returned as they stated it was left unclean even though the inspector stated it was in the best condition he had seen. Make sure to take thorough photos of the property’s condition/ cleanliness when you move in — if you don’t, like us, they’ll use it against you at the end of the tenancy. They quite frankly try to make money out of you as and where they can.

Fantastic experience: Rented a Jesmond student house with Mansons for my 4th year at uni… The house was refurbished in the summer before moving in, and was modern and clean. We had some maintenance issues at the start but it was very easy to report and they were dealt with in a timely manner. I felt well looked after by Kirsty and the team and it was always easy to get hold of them over the phone when we needed.

Fantastic experience: I appointed Mansons to sell my property after several years of them managing it on my behalf. Their management service was second to none and extremely comprehensive from locating suitable tenants, dealing with any issues arising (including chasing Third Parties where appropriate) and all aspects of administration. When I decided to sell the property Mansons were the only firm I would consider. I was initially guided by Nick but then I was taken under the wing of Deborah. Although my sale took much longer than I had expected (due to procrastinating Third Parties), Deborah was proactive throughout and I am grateful for all of her help and assistance. Fantastic experience: I have been a client of Manson’s Property Consultants, Newcastle for over 10 years. During this time I have received 100%+ professional, helpful and friendly service from all of the staff. Earlier this year during a routine inspection on my first floor flat in Wilson Street, Wallsend it was noted the staircase was infested with dry rot and therefore making it unsafe to use. Manson’s very quickly arranged for a contractor to attend to give a quotation. The dry rot was emanating from the downstairs flat so Manson’s made contact with the owner who carried out remedial works. However it was felt these were not sufficient to enable my work to be carried out at great expense and for the contractor to offer me a guarantee for the work that I needed to undertake. During the whole process despite being kept informed my tenant became extremely demanding and challenging. After many weeks of negotiation with the tenant and the downstairs owner we were forced to involve the services of North Tyneside Environmental Health to resolve the issue and start repair work on the flat. Manson’s sourced an alternative contractor that could carry out the work which was commissioned. Arrangements were made with the owner of the downstairs flat and my tenant. Unfortunately, works were delayed due to circumstances beyond our control (ie securing delivery of materials). During the whole period as the flat was unsafe to live in we did not collect any rent from the tenant as she was advised not to live there. Despite numerous requests for her to move out she refused and continued to live in the flat knowing there was a serious health and safety issue. During the period the tenant notified us of issues relating to electrics and boiler that needed repairs. However, these repairs could not be undertaken as the property was unsafe to enter. In the meantime as the tenancy period was coming to an end I instructed Manson’s not to offer a renewal as I was uncertain how long works would take. The tenant was served a two month notice that the tenancy would not be renewed at the end of October 2024 and she was advised to make arrangements to find alternative accommodation. My tenant has threatened me with disrepair, harassment as a result of retaliatory eviction compensation claim due to a breach of Landlord’s obligation. Recently a colleague of my tenants posted a very damning review on the Mason’s website in relation to all of the above. Subsequently due to the defamatory nature of the review, the post was taken down. During all this time Debbie Smith the manager has worked in an extremely professional manner and the fact that her professionalism, competency and compliance with housing legislation has been questioned by my tenant is an absolute insult and outrages. Fortunately work has commenced and I have been advised that the flat is now safe to enter, and therefore the outstanding repairs will be addressed. Thank you Manson’s for all your assistance during this extremely stressful period. Debbie you are an absolute star and deserve a medal for everything you have had to endure to remedy this situation. I cannot thank and praise you enough for all your assistance and help.

Negative experience: Absolutely unprofessional agency, they re-arranged a viewing for a flat twice with the excuse they had to move the viewings day and that no one would view it until the last arrangement. They contacted the next day to cancel the viewing appointment as “the flat was rent by another agent”. Better stay away, unreliable and unprofessional.

We have a small portfolio and have been landlords for a number of years and have used a number of different agents over the years. Mansons are by far the best! Dan introduced us to Mansons and explained in detail about the services they offer to landlords. We decided to use their services to find tenants for our student property in Heaton. Kirstey met us at the property to carry out the property valuation and appraisal. During the appraisal, Kirstey gave advice on how to present the property at it's best, explaining what appeals to students. The property was put on the market and the presentation of the property was exceptional. The team at Mansons organised viewings very promptly, always showing respect to our tenants by giving them notice. (We have seen many agents in the past organise viewings without informing our tenants!) Dan informed us about every viewing and gave us any feedback received. Very quickly tenants were found for our property. Dan continued to keep us up to date throughout the whole process, from referencing, to the day the tenants moved in. He explained they use a very thorough vetting process which also ensures checks with previous landlords. ( We have been let down by other agents in the past with regards to their referencing checks) We've also received excellent feedback from our new tenants who have stated they found dealing with Mansons a joy! Negative experience: Most unsupportive and unprofessional company I have ever encountered. Moved in to a house that was covered in mould and had to request the property be cleaned on numerous occasions only to receive a leaflet claiming the mould was down to condensation. When the mould was finally cleaned by a contractor the work done was cheap and shoddy and problems resurfaced almost immediately. Then when it came to moving out we were requested to have the house professionally cleaned, which we did and they came back saying the house was not cleaned to a professional standard supplying pictures they took of the mould and other issues we came to them with at the start of the tenancy. We were then charged out of our deposit for uncleanliness, even down to 1 grain of rice in a cupboard even though we had the whole house professionally cleaned. The deposit was only returned after constantly emailing and asking them for it 22 days after leaving the property. DO NOT USE THIS MONEY ROBBING COMPANY.

Negative experience: Please look at the other 1 star reviews before renting a property with these people as I just looked at the overall rating and over looked them!. If my review can help deter at least one person and prevent them being in a situation like mine it will be worth my time writing this review. The property wasn’t in great condition and was dirty on arrival however I was told I could leave it in the same state on exit so I hope they stick to there word on that. I rented the property in September which got damaged by a storm in November, it’s now nearly March and there is no date in site for repair as there is no electricity and a missing bathroom ceiling. I have been in air b n b’s, hotels and even now emergency housing for weeks on end digging deeply into my own pocket because the landlord will not rehouse me or provide any compensation they basically just said I don’t have to pay rent but that’s it. It’s IMPOSSIBLE to find anything short term for less than £300 per week and that is bare minimum it’s more like £500 per week (my rent is £650pm) . There communication is poor, I find every member of staff in there property management team extremely rude and I still don’t have a glimpse of light at the end of this very long stressful tunnel. No customer service and no tenant protection whatsoever it’s by far been the worst experience of my life dealing with this company.

Fantastic experience: Whilst looking for a new place to rent, a property we had found suddenly fell through and with only 4 weeks until the current tenancy was up it was a mad rush but Mansons could not have been more helpful! From the initial contact to getting me into a viewing asap right to the final steps of sorting out referencing. No matter what queries I had and whether I rang or emailed they were always responded to immediately. Both Kirsty and Claire are a credit to the business as they have both made this process one of the easiest I’ve ever had and I’ve moved 7 times in the last two years alone.

Positive experience: Sept '21; Unfortunately the excellent service as described previously (and i am sure is still evident) has been overshadowed by the very disappointing 'check-out' experience. There is an awful lot one can say about this, but in short, be aware that when you end your agreement and check out, ensure you look into every single element of the property clean or you will be charged a disproportionate amount to rectify. Unfortunately, in the pandemic world we were unable to revisit after our cleaner visited and as such there was overlooked dust in the crease of a sofa, dust under a bed and on top of a cupboard, but what a simple 5 min hoover would fix a charge of £100 was made and even then evidence gathered showed they too missed the sofa crease! I don't doubt the service before and during our rental, but this left a particularly sour taste and when contested through the bond appeal process it was independently judged to have been too much and we got a proportionate refund. A lesson in diligence for future renters. "As a couple looking for our first rental property together we are truly grateful for the excellent service Mansons deliver. As letting agents they have always been pro-active in finding tenants each year, timely in getting quotes/repairs carried out and efficient in keeping the required paperwork up-to-date.
