Negative experience: I've used this letting agency to rent a studio at Clyde Court back in 2019. Like another reviewer had mentioned, they were really nice to you when they're trying to get you into the property. After moving in, the staff were really unhelpful. There was a communal laundry room but they had to close it off after complaints of mold growing all over the walls during COVID. It remained closed for the next 3 years I was living there and doesn't seem like they've done anything to rectify the problem. They've advertised there was a gym at the property, again, they've closed the facility down during COVID and never opened it up again. Towards the end of my lease, I've noticed the shower hose was changed but was never informed that there would be someone entering the property - it is required by law that I would need 24h noticed before anyone can come in. When I rang the property management about the issue I was given the excuse that the maintenance team "accidentally" came into the wrong property and that was it. When the closed the laundry room, many of the tenants were forced to buy washing machines, me included. When it was time to move out, I phoned Spencers about the broken lift (would be fixed for a week and then breaks down for months on end) and if they could call maintenence fix it so I can move the washing machine down (I lived on the top floor). The agent on the phone was incredibly rude, she said that it wasn't her problem and that I need to ask my neighbours or friends to move it down using the stairs, otherwise I will be fined if I leave it in the property. I tried to tell her that I wasn't planning on leaving it in the property and I need to use the lifts otherwise it will be extremely dangerous to move something so heavy down the stairs. She refused to listen and double down. I've phoned the movers about the situation and they've replied that because I lived on the top floor and the washing was heavy they won't be moving it due to health and safety, which I completely understand and what I tried to convey to the agent. I had escalate the situation to management and only then did they finally listened to me and fixed the lift. All I wanted was to have the maintenance team to fix the lift, something so simple yet the initial agent was so combative about it. This entire experience had soured my time with Spencers and will definitely avoid.

Negative experience: I would not recommend spencers or countrywide to rent ur property out with made it very awkward when i wanted to end my contract with them the communiation was terrible asked for a call off there termination team and still waiting now after 4 weeks and because they sent me the new generic contract out after wanting to read it charged me 300 pound

Negative experience: My husband and I were very keen to work with Spencer’s especially after all the reviews however, we just experienced terrible customer service, quite shocking as it was the last thing we expected. It’s quite strange to treat customers/clients with little regard, almost as if you’re bothered by questions.

Negative experience: Estate agent did not turn up for the viewing. Waited 45 minutes to be told that the estate agent couldn’t find me so she left. I called her at 20 minutes and then 45 minutes. Not sure why she didn’t call me even once if she was actually at the property. Two stars because she picked up the call at least.

Negative experience: I had a booking with Spencers for a property viewing, but I needed to reschedule it. I made several attempts to reach them via calls, texts, and even emails, but unfortunately, none of my communication was answered. Eventually, since I had already committed and couldn't make any changes, I had to take a day off from work to honor my commitment. However, just 35 minutes before the scheduled appointment, someone from Spencers called to cancel the slot, citing a lack of access to the property. They then provided me with another appointment time, but it was scheduled for a working day, without any consideration for my availability. This has left me extremely disappointed.

The 1st meeting was very thorough, everything wad explained to me and I felt reassured that the right tenants would be chosen for my house and that it would be looked after.
