Negative experience: The worst agency in Leicester so far... they kept my deposit for nearly six months. They're very shady when it comes to maintenance and repairs. All maintenence queries sent, they only respond landlord has not approved. They never gave me access to meter readings, failed to give me last meter readings. Worst customer service experience and their response to emails sounds as if they have personal vendetta against you.I can never recommend them to anyone unless you're desperate!
Negative experience: We’ve been with this agency for 2 years. From day one, we reported a broken shower and hot water — “repaired” after 6 months, yet the shower still doesn’t work. Our swollen door has been ignored for 2 years despite repeated requests. Every issue takes ages to be acknowledged, let alone fixed. Maintenance is consistently slow or neglected. We don’t know if it’s the landlord or the agency, but it’s shameful that renting a property at this cost comes with such appalling service. It's a shame!
Negative experience: Today, I had a frustrating experience from rentmyhome from Leicester that I feel compelled to share. After a grueling four-hour journey to view a flat, I arrived only to discover that the key wasn't available to let us in. It was incredibly disappointing to travel such a long distance for nothing. To make matters worse, the viewing was overbooked, with multiple prospective tenants arriving simultaneously. This not only made the situation confusing but also awkward for everyone involved, as we all waited in vain to see a property we had hoped could be our future home. I urge the company to improve its scheduling and communication practices. It's crucial to coordinate viewings more efficiently to prevent such letdowns. Negative experience: Had so many issues with rent my home. Firstly I had about 7 different property managers during my 12 month stay wasn’t informed that they changed so when I emailed about an issue I just didn’t get a response. Secondly, no hot water the whole year in the kitchen and crappy water in the bathroom constantly complained and was never fixed, causing hygiene issues especially when trying to wash dishes. Thirdly, broke tiles in the kitchen which is a danger, never fixed. Crappy curtains which were properly installed and couldn’t be opened or closed properly these were never fixed. The upstairs flat had a leak which went into our flat, the light was never switched, we were also informed that the can’t repair the leak as they didn’t want to pay the maintenance guy. My flat mates shower was broken for months, never fixed. Mould in apartments never fixed, after paying rent I was called constantly telling me I had not paid, instantly after I said I had they magically found the money, scam to get more money from me. My contract ended and I gave notice yet they still pressured me to pay and regretted my notice, and haven’t refunded my deposit after 2 months. They don’t care about there tenants and are only out to make money. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

Fantastic experience: Ahmed has been so helpful towards my husband and I, working on our issues as tenants immediately. He has been beyond helpful and shown care towards resolving any issues. He’s easy to reach and is efficient with the work he does.
Negative experience: Very rude behaviour of one boy staff in office while getting inside into office. They act like why we were there. In another hand resposes are to quick just in nearly 10days . They make me nearly home less if i have not made my decision and look for other agencies.
Negative experience: No one ever answers the phone. I have just moved in and kept being told I will receive the details of the utility providers by email. No email and no response to my chaser. I have no hot water and I have several chronic pain conditions and need to have hot baths to help. I haven’t been told where the meter is and it isn’t in the flat so I can’t even find it all myself. Asked for the complaints procedure and no response. Avoid using this company as all it seems they are after is your money!
Negative experience: I feel completely let down by Rent My Home agency in Leicester. After reporting a leak, nothing was done, which eventually led to my kitchen ceiling collapsing. They initially wanted to repair it while I was still living in the property with my small children, and I had to beg to be moved. The temporary property they placed me in also had serious maintenance issues — every time the toilet was flushed, sewage water came up into the bath. Despite reporting it as an emergency, it took two days to resolve, during which we had to live in the smell of sewage and couldn’t use the bathroom. I was told my original property would be ready by 1st October, but I’ve had no updates despite sending emails and calling the office. Instead, they now want to move me somewhere else with no clear explanation. This has been the worst letting agency I’ve ever dealt with — poor communication, lack of urgency, and complete disregard for tenants’ living conditions.
Negative experience: Extremely unprofessional. They book you in for viewings and don't show up and don't offer an explanation either. Plus we're unable to get through to anyone to speak to as no one answers the phone. We travelled over 2 hours for one viewing this week (Evington Parks Rd) and no one showed up. Disappointing service to say the least.

Their service is very poor and the staff shows completely irresponsible behavior. We have been complaining about our issue for over two months now, but nothing has been resolved. Negative experience: I don't understand how anybody would ever rent with this agency.People that work there are very unprofessional. The houses and flats they rent are in no livable conditions,very old and not up to cleanliness and hygiene standards.They will increase your rent every year but agents and landlords will not invest in the property or guarantee you won't have any issues while living there. Do not fall in the trap of believing their advertisements.

Negative experience: I’m not sure how anyone gives more than one star rating. Worse agents i have ever experienced, they tried to steal my deposit claiming it’s for cleaning and redecorating. Very shady people, was not allowed to pay my own electricity, they also refused to send me the bill for the last month of my tenancy and just said it was going to be deducted from my deposit and wouldn’t let me know how much even after so many emails. Before i made a dispute i had asked what about the rest of the deposit, they replied in this exact words “this is what the landlord would like to put forward “ how come the landlord wants to take my money just because they can. Negative experience: By far the worst estate agent I’ve ever had, do not rent through them! The flat itself was problematic but the estate agents handling of it was worse. To start when we moved in we weren’t given the building access code which led to my flatmate being stuck outside at 2am pressing all the neighbours buzzers to get in then we had no oven for almost half of the year we were in the flat and every time we asked for it to get fixed we were just pushed off. There were also homeless people live in our basement, no warning when workmen were coming, stolen packages with no security and so much more. The worst part was when we left they tried to take half our deposit and it took 6 months to get it all back. Definitely an estate agent to avoid.

Negative experience: I have recently moved in to a property managed by RentmyHome in mid July. Prior to moving in, my partner viewed the property, whereby a few issues were noted, that we requested be acted on before taking on the tenancy. Of these, we requested a professional clean, a paint of the rooms that required it(due to peeling/chips of the paintwork) and to have some exposed wires plastered over.These works were agreed to by RentmyHome via email. Unfortunately the workmanship of the paintwork is below standard with multiple fittings and floors having been splashed with paint.Next, the professional clean never occurred, and lastly the plastering of where the wires are is uneven, and done to a dreadful standard. This unfortunately is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to issues with RentmyHome. It took 1 week to organise a 'professional clean' of the property. Myself and my partner have since had to spend hours of our own time to remove grime and dust that wasn't done by the cleaner. In the 48 hours, we have noticed the following; mould in the bedroom(on walls,bedside tables, underside of bed), 2 leaking/dripping taps, no working under cabinet lights in the kitchen, faulty handles on windows, a working albeit damaged hob, the shower will not turn on without the bathroom tap being turned on, a damp odour, damaged paintwork to bathroom cabinets amongst other issues. We raised the issues with the company, the agent on the phone was clearly shocked by what we had found(we sent an email, with photos to verify our findings). Since we raised our issues, our whole experience with RentmyHome has changed. Whenever we contacted RMH, the agents on the phone have become l unsupportive and pawned us over to one single agent who now has the responsibilty of dealing with the issues. This, I recognise, is normal complaint procedure in an effort to streamline communication, although it is further delaying matters as the agent is often 'out on appointments' - as per their remit when we call. The majority of other conversations (with everyone but 'our' agent, are not entertained, instead, are shut down with requests for us to send everything in writing, further slowing response to issues). We are in the third week of our tenancy, and still have not been informed on how the letting company will resolve our issues, only that they are working on it. We have been informed our issues and check-in reports do not match theirs. It appears very clearly there were professional failings in the management of our property. Lastly, we still receive almost daily automatic emails to sign an online document for a 'check-in inventory'. We have not received this. RMH contacted both of us almost daily, prior to moving in, reminding us to sign it, almost to the point where we felt pressured into signing it. We informed them, we would not sign the check in inventory until we had seen one. The reply; you will receive a check-in inventory on the day of move in, please then sign it. This never happened. We informed RMH about this (during the course of all the other issues), they assured us they would have it back to us, once they had received it from the 3rd party company they use to manage the check-in/check-out procedure. We spoke to our agent 2 weeks after moving in, who when asked about the check-in inventory, thought it had been sent to us already. The only thing RMH have done with relative urgency was to have our bathroom window secured following a burglary of the property... yes, we got broken into as well. The window was secured 4 days after the burglary. I appreciate this may appear scathing. I would like to publicly thank the agent Raj, who is dealing with our issues in a professional,courteous manner. I am hopeful these issues can be resolved with the landlord's help in the near future.

Especially Venita, she takes every question so personally and hold grudges against you and would be so rude to you when ever you try to contact this agent. So unprofessional behaviour. Negative experience: We had got very bad experience from this agents. We wanted to rent a flat and selected one they asked for our details and they also needed the uk based guarantor we provided the details at first they told they are ok with the details and then we paid holding deposit as we believed everything was ok then they started referencing and told the guarantor details are not sufficient and we had given deposit when they the the details of guarantor was ok but now we can’t get that house and they are telling the money is non refundable. We are professionals working full time they not only asked about our bank details but they needed the guarantors bank details which was not told to us they needed that.We were contacting to the agent staff Venita Laxman from the starting of our process and we had mailed every details to her. When she said the given details are confirmed by landlord then only we transferred money.

Unfortunately you did not meet the minimum requirements for the property and as such a guarantor was submitted as part of your application forms. The landlord later approved this and a holding deposit was requested to reserve the property. Once the references began your guarantor unfortunately decided to withdraw and you were unable to provide a suitable alternative and hence we could not proceed further with your application.

Fantastic experience: Great service. I am a property owner who was moving away and only had around 3 weeks to get my property rented out before I left. I didn't think this would be possible, but Kishan and Kris got moving straight away, and within a single viewing we had 3 applications and found tenants about as quick as you could ask for! They made all the costs and expectations very clear in advance and took care of the whole process for us. We're now within the first month of our tenants having moved in and the process has been very smooth so far. I can not speak for the long term yet, but so far so good!

Negative experience: Not even worth 1 star! I reported so many issues and maintenance issues with the property I was renting and got told multiple times something will be done and someone will be out, no one came out at all for over 7 months. I had an inspection and got asked if there was any concerns I had and I mentioned the maintenance issues and got told that’s not their job and can’t do anything about it. Was left with a broken single glaze window which remained open 24/7 since it was unable to be closed! Another time I couldn’t get down the stairs from the top floor due to maintenance in the flat blocks and wasn’t made aware of it. Awful letting agents and the landlord doesn’t care and I might just add that they DO NOT give you your deposit fee back once vacating the property!! DO NOT choose rent my home, glad I’ve moved away now

Venita Laxman in particular answers the phone in the most delightful, professional and polite way anyone could ask for. Fess are fairly reasonable and competitive Downsides Individuals can be difficult to reach and don't always call back within a reasonable time - but I suppose this is a downside arising from being so busy (see second point) Web based services have been good but not right now - would like a consistent way to manage properties, enquiries, credit checks, etc online but this seems to come and go. At the time of writing its non-existent which means that as a landlord we are at the mercy of catching people on the phone

Fantastic experience: Mr Niraj Shah has been looking after my rental property for over a year and always keeps me well informed on all details of my property or management issues. I highly recommend speaking to him if you are interested in having tenants as he explains everything and advises and guides in the clients best interest. I have no issues with the tenants or the property since working with him.

Negative experience: If you're thinking of renting from this company, please don't. In short here's why: From the ongoing experience of my friend who lives in one of their properties (from just 12 months!): smoke alarms don't work and they have been putting off repairing them for around 9 months now (yes, seriously!); the shower leaks (2 months); they won't repair a faulty tap and heavy price increases (and there's other issues but I don't trust this company not to then use this review against them or something absurd). It goes without saying my friend has called, emailed, and even had a couple of people round multiple times and yet nothing is done and they absolutely ignore emails, or attempt to say she is responsible for fixing a smoke alarm system which is integrated and isn't a simple replacement of the battery issue! So please, I implore anyone to avoid them unless you want to be ignored when something goes wrong and have issues like smoke alarm systems not working in a block of flats ignored (it has been escalated to the council)! Oh, and if by some miracle a representative of this company sees this and would like to contact me, you're most welcome to. I'd love to discuss further... Edit 16/1/24: Despite the reply below, do not be fooled into thinking my friend's issues have been resolved. They haven't. She has and continues to reiterate them on a weekly basis and they fall upon deaf ears. She was most recently asked to provide proof that one of her appliances was smoking before they would take any action - which based on previous 'action' they have taken presumably means they'll do nothing. Again, this is a terrible agent please avoid for your own good. My friend's tenancy ends in a few (what I'm sure will be arduous) months... they can't wait!

He is incredibly professional and keeps me informed with regards to the tenants, the state of the property and the general management issues. The rent is collected diligently and expeditiously and all maintenance problems are sorted promptly thereby ensuring peace of mind for both the tenant and Landlord. The service offered is outstanding for both the Landlord and tenants alike and i cant recommend them enough.
