Negative experience: Very disappointing experience with Leaders. There was no transparency at all throughout the process. I travelled a long distance from Derby to view several properties, only to be told shortly after each viewing that the landlord had agreed to give the property to another tenant. At the same time, I was consistently encouraged to take the “No Deposit” option, even though I clearly explained that I was willing and able to pay the full cash deposit upfront. After I declined the No Deposit scheme, communication became poor and my calls were not answered. The whole experience felt unprofessional and unclear. Based on my experience, I strongly do not recommend Leaders. If you decide to use them, make sure you read everything carefully and ask direct questions about how applications are handled.

Negative experience: When i started my tenancy, i called the office and they confirmed that i can pay my first month of rent, next week when go to office to take the key . Few days later i was surprised that the office charged me 50 pounds as delayed payment !!

Negative experience: Honestly wish I had chosen another company when searching for somewhere to live in Derby. I have had issues over my energy supplier due to leaders creating a contract with ovo energy on my behalf, without my knowledge. When I challenged them over this matter, there was a lot of blame shifting and lack of professionalism. They even went as far as blaming my landlord. I contacted my property manager, who denied this ever took place and they would never place the blame elsewhere. If you want a professional company, a good experience while moving and helpful staff with transparency. Don’t come to leaders as you will get none of this.

Negative experience: Once you need something fixed you are on your own. They took over 4 weeks to fix my boiler mid winter. And to top it off don’t reply the emails. Still want to charge full rent despite the property being unsuitable for living due to no heating or hot water. Property management at it’s finest.

Fantastic experience: Our experience with Leaders from start to finish has been nothing short of incredible! With being a first time tenant myself, I had a lot of questions and queries about property letting and the team at Leaders were amazing in answering those. From arranging our viewing of our property, to key collection arrangement to rent payment questions, the team have been amazing. Whilst going through the process of preparing for our move, we had lots of frequent contact with Gemma Silver who was just wonderful to deal with. She was very helpful, supportive and efficient at making us aware of certain things through frequent contact via both email and phone calls regularly. We have nothing bad to say about our experience with the property letting team, only positive thoughts from us! I had a conversation today with Lauren Nield with some questions regarding my rent payment and she was amazing in answering those questions. She was extremely thorough and very knowledgeable in responding to my queries. Once again, experience was nothing short of amazing.

Negative experience: This is one of the worst letting and estate agency out there. I’m staying in one of their properties only because of how good the landlord is. However, the way this agency manages everything is horrendous. They would keep harassing you with automated emails about payments when the payments have been made and tone of the email is not at all considering. I mean so much so that I’m coming here and writing a review for them. All my housemates received their so called “welcome pack” and I didn’t despite paying the rent for six months in advance. If it has not been because of the landlord, I would have never looked at this chaotic agency that are so lost with their work and do not respond timely. Wouldn’t be suggesting at all to go ahead with them as they only add on to your everyday stress.

Negative experience: Avoid! Leaders appear only interested in tenants who take up the NO DEPOSIT option. Several times on the phone they gently, but persistently, encouraged using that option. I doubt that they put other tenant applications forward to the Landlord. Surely someone who is able to pay a cash deposit upfront is a preferable candidate for a tenancy!! Read the small print very carefully before signing up! I avoided looking at properties through Leaders in the end

Negative experience: Extremely Disorganized and Useless – A Stressful Experience My experience with Leaders was deeply disappointing. When I moved into a new property on June 6th, they automatically passed my details to OVO without my consent, creating an account in my name and causing months of unnecessary problems. Due to negligence, an incorrect meter reading was sent to the energy supplier, a problem that remains unresolved even after more than five months. Throughout this period, Leaders offered no support. Instead, they contacted me to say that OVO was charging the landlord over £200 and insisted that the responsibility was mine, even though I had already sent the correct readings and paid the amount due for 5 days. The reading they have to date is something we haven't even reached. Every time I contacted them for clarification, the answers were vague, useless, or contradictory. Instead of helping to resolve the problem they themselves created, they simply shifted the blame. This lack of responsibility caused me a lot of stress and wasted my time. In my experience, Leaders proved to be disorganized, negligent with client information, and completely unhelpful when problems arose. I strongly recommend caution when choosing this company as a real estate agency. Negative experience: How the tables have turned. Rented a property 1.5 years ago and had a wonderful experience but now I hold a completely different opinion about Leaders. Changed properties and a lot was promised but never delivered, only thing they are good at delivering are just excuses. Current situation boiler not working no heating and no hot water at the house in this cold weather but Leaders are waiting for over a day now for Landlords approval which he never approves of anything as it seems like. Led module light not working in bathroom using a lamp for over a week now with power bank. Garden is a mess, was promised to be taken care of after moving into the house as garden work was approved from landlord. After more than 2 weeks came to know they changed the property manager and the landlord hasn’t approved the new quotes. Having seeing my parents struggle at this age to get basic stuff sorted for the house plus getting no replies from Leaders is utterly disappointing tbvh. Only 2 good people that my parents spoke to at Leaders are Theresa and Wesley, whom I have high regards for. Rest of them just want you to live with the problems unfortunately. Also cannot say the same for Aaron today unfortunately. Below is my old review from 1.5 years ago: Aaron is a very professional guy. Carried out our process very smoothly. Highly recommend taking help from him.

Negative experience: Awful experience with Leaders Property Management. They've added charges to my account without ever contacting me — no calls, no explanation. Throughout the tenancy, the service was shocking. Maintenance issues were ignored, and the landlord never followed through with repairs, despite repeated requests. Leaders made no effort to support or communicate. And now they are asking for ££66 for leaving a few spices in the cupboard on accident, even though the flat has been left in better than was handed to me. Completely unprofessional and frustrating from start to finish. Avoid at all costs

Negative experience: Pressured us into going for the non deposit option. However, it's totally a scam because there are zero upsides to it. The letting agent cunningly offers this as some better alternative, however I was new in the country and did not know much better. Telephones were constantly going off while being ignored; I understand why they never answered ours now. Waited for half an hour before even being acknowledged by the one man. Negative experience: Pressured us into opting for a zero deposit by insinuating they would give our property to another prospective tenant (which we now have to pay for and cannot opt out of for 3 months), have not fixed issues that were present since before our viewing, as well as some that we are now finding out about, and left us with the previous tenants gas and electric debt. Have now had the keys 4 days and still no electric, and cannot get in contact with our property manager. Hopefully these are one-offs but am concerned for the rest of our tenancy the way this is headed.

She answered all of my questions without hesitation and I didn't feel like my questions were a burden at all. Great asset to Leaders, thank you Daria Following on from my experience dealing with Daria - once the application had been accepted by the landlord, Teresa Powell took over all communications and has been absolutely amazing during the entire process. She calls back when she says she will, all of my questions were answered and in a timely fashion. Teresa has made the whole move in experience so much easier, smoother and less stressful. She even contacted me the day after my brother moved into his property, to check everything was ok for him and make sure he was happy! Fantastic experience: Leaders in general have been the best lettings agency I’ve dealt with in Derby, but I’d specifically like to talk about my experience with Leah Bostock. I have been going through an extremely difficult time recently, being faced with stress from every possible angle including that of having to leave my property and move to another city. Without going into detail, Leah has been an absolute rock in guiding me through this difficult process and showed so much support and kindness that you would never expect from a stranger. Negative experience: We have been using Leaders for around 18 months and I have the say they astound me every time I deal which them. They just do not know what they are doing and this comes from the Management team down to the staff. I actually feel sorry for the property management team that look after Derby because when even their own manager cannot look after a property how are they supposed to. They are all very polite and pleasant on the phone, but have no organisational skills. My property hasn't been inspected by them for over 9 months even though this should be done every 6 yet it took me to ask why it hadn't been done. Not sure what I have paid them to do???

Negative experience: We had a house secured by leaders, we had signed, landlord had signed and all was well. Deposit was also paid. Only a couple weeks before we were supposed to move in, Leaders tell us we can no longer have the property and a signed contract is not enough for us to have the property. We were left with very little time to sort out a new house. Not good.
