Fantastic experience: We’ve been working with Leaders as a contractor, primarily carrying out compliance works across a number of their properties. Georgina originally introduced us to the team and has been great to deal with from the management side — very organised and good at keeping things moving when multiple jobs are on the go. On a day-to-day basis we mainly deal with the three J’s — Jas, Jay, and Junafe — who are all very helpful property managers and straightforward to work with when coordinating jobs. Overall everyone in the team has been great to deal with and we’re looking forward to continuing to work with them going forward.

Fantastic experience: My partner rents a property via Leaders. Recently my partners boiler stopped working and due to work patterns my partner was unable to call Leaders. I called them and Faye was brilliant, she arranged for an emergency plumber to come to the property (Owen) who was also amazing. Within 10 minutes my partner had hot water and heating again. Very polite, professional and took the issue on board and resolved it within 24 hours with no fuss. Thank you both Faye and Owen you are both absolutely stars x

Negative experience: We have had such a poor experience with leader. We had a faulty boiler and a lot of days without heating and hot water, under the boiler there was a leak. For 6months I tried to sort it with them but they kept denying there was a leak even when I sent proof. It finally got sorted when I contacted the council. When we first moved in the property it was a right mess rubbish all over the house and a toy foot in lounge, I had to pay for my own professional cleaner and they refused to reimbursed. I can’t believe I big company like leaders are extremely unorganised and no help at all. The landlord of the property has now moved astate agent as well

Positive experience: I first contacted them in March 2024 regarding a fence issue with one of their clients. After several emails discussing possible solutions, they assured me in July that they would get back to me. However, it has now been eight months, and I have received no further updates. It is extremely frustrating to keep chasing them for a response when they should keep their word and provide the updates they promised. The lack of communication and accountability is very disappointing !! Update: After sending a follow-up email a few days ago, I received a response explaining the situation. They assured me that they will notify me as soon as possible. I appreciate their prompt reply and commitment to keeping me informed.

Positive experience: Lee is a rare find in this industry, a professional who is genuine and always so helpful with excellent communication. All questions answered in a timely manner and would definitely deal with him again. Cheers Lee for all your help! If it wasn’t for Lee however…. very apparent there’s lack of good management at the Derby branch, appalling customer service from some members of staff I would go as far as rude and very unprofessional. I found my experience as a whole at Leaders extremely disappointing and frustrating where simple easy tasks were not even being addressed. I wouldn’t trust this company again.

Fantastic experience: I have dealt directly with Lee Walker from Leaders over the last 2 years during my son’s tenancy of an apartment and I have been extremely impressed with his professionalism. There were a lot of issues with the apartment upon occupation so I was in regular contact with Lee in order to get them resolved. He always responded to calls and emails in a timely and polite manner and endeavoured to deal with the issues raised. His “can do” and helpful attitude has without doubt ensured that the landlord has resolved problems swiftly. I have dealt with letting agents in the past that have been unreliable and never returned calls. This has been the exact opposite and I feel I have received an excellent service. Thankyou.

Fantastic experience: 10 years of dedicated services and professionalism. Since the day I moved in and out. Any reported issues been looked after and passed on to the landlord. I remember one day I had no heating due to a boiler’s failure. Property management went out of their way to buy me 4 smalls heaters so i don’t stay in a cold house. Negative experience: I’m a Landlord and find this agent very poor in terms of adequate and effective communication. The property management appear to be overwhelmed as emails go unanswered. Interestingly I was quoted £5,500 for work by their contractor, only for the contractor to return on a later date to assure me his quote for the work he submitted to Leaders was £4000. My property was left damaged and resembled a squat when the tenant vacated, despite repeated inspections by Leaders.

Positive experience: My 4 star review is for my property manager Sophie Morris only, she is polite, responds and chases information as needed. She is the only reason I am still with Leaders. Sadly her hands are often tied and improvements take ages and need frequent chasing by myself and Sophie, Inspections in my opinion lack details and clarity. Negative experience: Unprofessional, Dishonest, & Incompetence on grand scale - Caveat emptor! Experienced landlord with different lettings agency over the years I can say Leaders hands down is the most incompetent agency I have ever come across. Leaders are simply too BIG to care and YOU ARE JUST A NUMBER, they do not care about you or your property. Paid for a fully managed service for years, and wanted was an efficient, competent, professionally managed service that communicates well with the landlord. What I got was the most inefficient, incompetent, and unprofessional service that lacks even the most basic communication skills, that I have ever come across In my entire life. The level of incompetence shown by Leaders in (mis)managing my properties is beyond belief: • missed property inspections • Failure to transfer and register tenant deposit !!! (Lost) • Consistent lack of comms • repeatedly chasing the most basic of queries • Lost keys • unauthorised Maintenance's done • Consistent errors, mistakes and lies • checkout inaccuracies • erroneous charges All above just some of the failings and by no means exhaustive. In spite of all the failings above Leaders will not let you out of your contract with them unless you pay a punitive and excessive exit charge of 2 months’ rent + VAT!, Leaders reward for their failure!! Think carefully before signing the terms of business!, they would rather see you pay for their own mistakes. What is even more shocking is Leaders inability to put things right be accountable and take responsibility, none of these individuals that I have dealt with over the past months has the ability, capability or willingness to put things right or to see right from wrong. The impression I get is that either A the staff simply do not care or B staff a little wet behind the ears, in either case simply unacceptable when you are entrusting them to look after what is most people’s biggest asset. Typical scenarios from Leaders: Me: “why has my rent not been paid?” Leaders: “I will check with credit control, and get back you” (they never do) Me: “why have I been over charged?/ why has my rent not gone into my bank account? / where is my refund that I was promised?” Leaders: “I will check with the accounts department, and get back you” (they never do) Me: “why have my property inspections not been done?” Leaders: “I will check with the inspections department” (they don’t get back!!!) Me: “Property need re-marketing" Leaders: “I will get someone from marketing to give you a call” (you guessed it this call never arrives!) Typical scenario you will find yourself in time and again with Leaders, everyone passes the buck and no one takes responsibility of acting on your requests, you are paying for a ‘fully managed’ service and you find yourself doing the managing all the time between all these different departments and playing piggy in the middle getting passed from pillar to post. As a busy landlord paying for a service you want your life to be made easier and not harder. As a landlord it is easier to self-manage your properties or better still sign up to a proper agency, rather than pay Leaders for a fully managed service where all you will end up doing as a landlord is managing Leaders mis-managing your properties and paying them for the privilege. God forbid should you require some maintenance and you choose to use Leaders contractors, they will charge you an extortionate amount way above a reasonable market rate, Leaders is absolutely the very worst company I have ever had any dealings with in my entire life, where the levels of service are just abhorrent and the sheer scale of incompetence shown from top to bottom is beyond belief. Leaders do not communicate at all well and have proven themselves to be totally unprofessional incompetent, dishonest, negligent and totally untrustworthy many times over. Online blog coming soon detailing all failures, also in touch with local and national newspaper consumer journalist to publish article on Leaders gross incompetence and gross negligence. Caveat Emptor!!!.

Fantastic experience: I have several properties with Leaders. If a tenant leaves they get another tenant immediately so the properties are never empty. Rebecca Hull looks after my properties and always does a great job. She keeps on top of any issues and follows everything up as promised. Leaders do occasionally like to add on “extra charges” without explanation.

Fantastic experience: Would like to thank Amelia taylor at Leaders for finally sorting all our issues out we have waited months/couple years for as landlord is useless. We have had about 4/5 property managers in the 12 years here and she is the 1st one who has bothered to update us weekly at times we haven't had to chase as previous to this it was a lot of stress chasing when I already have anxiety. She has also chased landlord for us multiple times. Landlord still useless at replying/getting works done but I know Amelia has been doing all she can to get things rectified in a more timely manner. Fantastic experience: Excellent service from my current property manager Amelia, especially as the 2022-3 tenant left the place in quite a state, and she and other staff had had to endure abuse from him on the phone. Also good service from your inspectors, who have had to go in and out on extra occasions to deal with the previous tenant. I wouldn't say as much for a previous manager 2 or 3 years ago (who I gather is no longer with Leaders) who landed me with a court summons and fee for unpaid council tax due to not having supplied the council with the proper paperwork to confirm the tenant was a student, although both she and another of your staff promised me it would be done.

Positive experience: Leaders in general I find average at best. Don’t do inspections when they should. I’ve had a Tennant in nearly 2 years without an inspection. Lost keys to the property and no record of who’s signed them in and out etc. However since Sophie from the derby branch started managing the property it’s been great. No issues atall, and nothing too much trouble.
