Negative experience: I went for a viewing last week, got there and the flat was a completely different flat, on a different floor, different size and layout, unfurnished while the booking I have is for a furnished flat. Once I asked the agent about all that she said that the other flat got leased and this is similar. I told her how this is totally different one and with no furniture. She said maybe it’s for a lower price. I asked how much they are asking for rent and she had no idea. She said she will check all the details regarding the rent and furnishing and get back to me by the end of the day and I haven’t heard back from her.

Positive experience: Booked a viewing for a flat a week in advance over WhatsApp with Lauren. When we went to the viewing the next week, no one showed up. We texted the number on the WhatsApp and then called but got no answer. Bad communication and left us waiting for 15 minutes expecting someone to show up. Negative experience: Waited outside the property for a viewing for 30 minutes past the time I was told and no one came. Rang them and they said the agent would come down and meet me as they was already there but no one did complete waste of my time very unprofessional.

Fantastic experience: At the age of 71 I have bought and sold a few houses over the years. This latest move will almost certainly be my last. I have dealt with several estate agents and universally they have all been left lacking in the service they provided. On a complete whim on this occasion I chose Tristram’s based on Derby Road in Nottingham to come and look at my house just to give me a valuation of it. We were visited initially by Liam Kavanagh who came to value it. He arrived fully briefed and provided documentation supporting a likely valuation for the house even before he had seen it. Once he had done so he said that, if we were to market it, the offer price should be a little more than the valuation to provide some wiggle room. I was amazed at the valuation he made of it which was way above my expectations. The great thing with Liam however was that there was no pressure to sell the house. He left us with the paperwork and asked us to get in touch when we were ready to sell. It was about three months later when we took the plunge having found another house we wanted to buy. I contacted Liam again and he once again visited saying they were ready to go as soon as we were. He said he already had a list of around 19 people who had shown interest in buying a similar property to ours and expected it to sell quickly. We were next contacted by Matt Mealing who came and photographed the house. He did a fantastic job making it look as good as it possibly could, he was brilliant. Next, we were contacted by Talia Dovey who handled the sales side of it. She again was fantastic. Talia handled the viewings we had and within less than a week we had four families who came to look at it. She was a brilliant salesperson who really worked hard for us to achieve a sale as soon as possible. She was the star of the show by the time it was all finished and kept in constant contact throughout the whole thing. We almost immediately had a firm offer at the price Liam had suggested, for it from one of the viewings and this couple ended up buying it. From the point of the offer, we were then handed over to Kirsten Gent. It was her job to deal with the sale and to liaise with the buyer and the solicitors on both sides and to ensure that the process was maintained and not bogged down. Again, Kirsten was on it from the very start keeping us apprised at every stage and very definitely keeping the pressure on everyone to get paperwork sorted out and to remove issues where she could. Again, a fantastically dedicated member of staff who certainly did her best to get the job done at every stage. The whole team of people at Tristram’s worked as hard as any customer could expect from start to finish. I loved their enthusiasm and drive and felt throughout that they were working just for us and that our sale was the most important thing they were doing. I would, without any hesitation, recommend them to anyone looking for agents to sell for them. Even the charges for their services were more reasonable than any other estate agents I looked at. All in all, they were an exceptional team of individuals employed by an exceptional company. Use them, you won’t be disappointed.
