Fantastic experience: Bernards have been brilliant throughout the process of purchasing our home. Fantastic experience: Used this agency to sell my late aunt’s house in Copnor, for which I was told they are the number one sellers in the area. Their valuation was realistic but not undervalued, as were others. As the property was subject to a lifetime mortgage, I was wondering how long it might take to complete, (this process also began close to the school summer holidays too) and not particularly wanting the mortgage company to get any more easy money than they (in my opinion) had already ‘earned’ but Ross and his team did a cracking job of disseminating the details and by two and a half weeks we had an offer from buyers who are now safely ensconced in the property. Any queries and general communication were always quickly dealt with by Ross so a big thank you is due.

Lacie was a great help throughout the process, being always on hand yet considerate to both us and the seller. We also used the mortgage broker with Bernards, called Vicky. Again, Vicky was extremely helpful, thanks to her wide knowledge and clear experience and training, and was always on hand for any queries. Both should be commended for what ended up being quite a complex purchase, given several issues/delays that occurred outside of there scope. Fantastic experience: After having our property for sale for 10 months with Purple bricks with no Progress. I found a flyer at the property From Lacie Bray. I decided to contact Lacie and discuss using Bernards to market our property. Lacie agreed to meet me with no strings attached we met at the property and Lacie said she believed she would be able to find a buyer at the price I was after. As i had to pay £1600 to purple bricks to get out of my contract with them I told Lacie I would think about changing. She said that was fine and that she would be available when ever I needed her. I spoke a few Times with Lacie on the phone keeping her in the loop regarding viewings PB had Lined up and she put no pressure on me to make a decision. She discussed my situation with her boss and said that Bernards would do as much as they could to help. I finally decided to leave PB and called Lacie to say I would like her to market the property she leapt into action and within 2 day it was on the market. The viewings started to pour in and Lacie kept me updated all the time with great feed back and the best way ahead. With in a couple of weeks I had an offer at the price i wanted and I am extremely happy with the service I have received from Lacie. After such a stressful and awful time with PB working with Lacie was a breath of fresh air at no time has she pressured me she has just been Helpful and supportive giving me truthful advice all the way. i am so glad that she dropped the flyer through the door. Negative experience: Awful experience, put an offer in on a house that should never have been listed in the first place. I was told it'd be a quick sale due to no chain, seven weeks later, no contract papers, still being told to wait "a few more weeks". The seller was going through a divorce which I was not told about, the estate agent stopped replying to me and gave me the sellers number and left it up to me to deal with. Incredibly unprofessional. Estate agent led us on, kept giving false promises to keep us strung along. Ended up losing £600 on a survey and it put my chain at risk. I sent an email with an official complaint, the first response I get? The seller texting me, asking me to wait longer. I understand the agents work for the seller, but the house should never have been listed in the first place. Avoid. An update on this review: Their complaints procedure states they have 15 business days to reply. They have not replied within this time, but instead just replied to my google review, trying to shift the blame onto me. These estate agents are not trustworthy and clearly just work to protect themselves.

Fantastic experience: A review for the use of the mortgage broker Luke McNally. Amazing service and patience beyond the call of duty; over two years from searching to agreeing a sale and Luke stood by us through thick and thin. Vendors pulled out; bad surveys but in the end we secured a property through Bernard’s in Southsea. Thanks Luke for being a shining star in an otherwise terrible buying experience at a time post COVID when the market has been totally unpredictable. To Craig and the team at the Bernards Southsea office; thank you for helping to support us in finding something when we were seriously about to give up and rent for good; after bad experiences with multiple vendors and surveys. We appreciate you all!

Positive experience: Bernard's team was very helpful for me in finding an accommodation when I came to UK as an international student. Their services are up to the mark. But they have very strange agreement clauses which cost me almost £1900 on various heads while ending the tenancy, so beware of those clauses especially while terminating the tenancy in the agreement period. I had to pay for 1 month notice and for the period until next tenant comes in.

Keys things: - gave excellent and knowledgeable advice. -very proactive on getting potential buyers. - all of the team visited the house before any viewing took place and asked questions about the home. We were in the house a couple of times when potential buyers were viewing. Lacey and Kai pointed out the key features we had mentioned. We have been on viewings with other estate agents where they clearly have never seen the house before, so it was great to get a much more involved approach. - always friendly. Highly recommended

Fantastic experience: I received advice from Luke McNally at Bernards before my property search had even begun. Luke helped me on two separate occasions with my A.I.P (Ageement In Principle) as my financial situation had changed, time had passed and the housing market had not been at its best. I finally decided to bite the bullet and contact luke again to get my A.I.P and get my property search underway. Luke outlined exactly what documents I would Need for my AIP. After having my A.I.P in place, alot of trawling property sites, potential properties and viewings, I found my ideal property. With my 2nd offer being accepted Luke helped me with my mortgage application wich was accepted. Luke talked me through different scenarios and possible outcomes, which made me feel less anxious incase things did not go to plan. Communication was always open wether it be phone, email or dropping in branch with documents to process my mortgage application. All communication made it easier to manoeuvre through with my busy work schedule. Luke also helped with long-term financial advice and affordability regarding my mortgage. As a first time buyer on my own, it was very daunting and alot to take in, however Luke made it easier for me to understand and went through anything I was not sure on. The company assured that the property will be cleaned and renovated before giving but nothing is done. the condition of house is not worth living. I have got little children, youngest is 4months, I just don't know how to survive.....

Negative experience: Modern method of Auction. i.e. the buyer pays a reservation fee of 4.2% of the purchase price including VAT, subject to a minimum of £6,000.00 including VAT. The buyer will also make payment of £300 including VAT towards the preparation cost of the pack. Buyers, avoid modern method of action. Read up what it really is on google.

Fantastic experience: Lee and his team were professional throughout the whole process. We had just had a newborn when we were looking at an estate agent to market our property. They were very considerate of this, letting us come back to them when it was convenient for us, unlike some of their competitors who hounded us daily with up to 10 calls a day. We never felt pushed or pressured and I trusted that they would do what was best for us, not just to make a quick sale. I would recommend them to everyone.

Negative experience: Poor engagement with queries. Quite money minded people. Prefers Caucasians over other races. Some reviews could be fake as they call people and ask them to delete negative reviews.

Negative experience: Awful experience with this letting agent. Students beware DO NOT use these people. Trying to get the deposit returned was arduous to say the least. Excuses and pretend reasons for deducting money. Thankfully we had photographic and video evidence to prove they were lying, If you do have the misfortune of already signing up with them, please please make sure you take photos before and lots when you leave. They will literally try to charge you extortionate amounts for 'dust on a plug socket' or an empty water bottle inadvertently left in the house, not to mention items not even listed on the original inventory. You have been warned! AVOID! there are many other excellent letting agents in Portsmouth.

Negative experience: Worst lettings agency ever!!! The property was still available but they purposely cancelled my viewing 3 times in a row. They stopped picking up my calls. I called them 5 times in a day, picked the 5th call - I said Hello this is me trying to reach out and they just hung up on me. Racist people! They don't want to give the apartment to immigrants. Very disappointed!!
