It was good to have Nexa on our side helping us to achieve our goal. Neil Thorpe was excellent in explaining what was happening and getting involved when it looked like the sale was faltering. Negative experience: This agency is the worst I have rented with. They can take the longest time to fix problems that mind you, came with the accomodation and lack zero accountability. They are care free and don't care for their tenants. DO NOT RENT WITH THEM

Fantastic experience: UPDATE 23/08/25: Used Nexa to sell my property - Dominic has been an absolute star throughout, going above and beyond to find solutions. Really professional and approachable - thank you Dominic! **** It was very refreshing to deal with Neil. He knows his stuff and made himself easily contactable, corresponding with me at weekends and during evenings, always replying quickly. Made the process of buying a property for the first time far less stressful than it could have been. Thank you.

Negative experience: 1st day of moving daughter into new accomodation. A little bit less than impressed. Bed frame broken, reported but not sure when it will be replaced. Myself, husband, daughter had to clean kitchen. Fridge and freezer absolutely shocking. Kitchen sink blocked. Laundry room a complete mess. This property should have been inspected prior to her moving in. Please consider before renting a room here.

Negative experience: DONT SETTLE FOR THIS COMPANY! OUT TO GRAB YOUR MONEY AND HAVE NO CARE FOR THERE CLIENTS!!!!!! Find a better letting agency you will regret it!!!!! I can see reading through that I’m not the only one going through this situation and it is a repeating pattern, been with no hot water over a week now washing machines broken and stuck with my work clothes inside which this is not the first for either to be broken within the past 3 months this is our 3 week with no hot water. The household pays all bills included which at first was amazing and no we have set time allowances on the heating (that doesn’t work). The landlord himself too is a nasty piece of work he’s very obnoxious and two faced when in front of inspectors. By far the worst letting agents to date. If you ever have to deal Antony Eames (head of maintenance) be sure to catch up on your rights and don’t be scared to call this waste of space out, I’ve still got a few months on my tenancy. Antony Eames, don’t forget the name!

Negative experience: The worst ever agency that I have rent a flat. I hired a professional cleaner with over £150, but they charged me about £300 for only cleaning a 40 square meter flat again. They also never addressed any issues during the contract period

Negative experience: Avoid this letting agent at all costs if you are a tenant! I spent months without proper heating in the HMO I was renting. I spent weeks calling the agency every day to be met with the same blame projecting and blatant lies about how they couldn’t do anything about it. When they finally did get someone out to fix the heating, it was not properly fixed, as another service person who came later on agreed with. I honestly think if I hadn’t contacted the council and threatened to escalate the situation they would have let me live in the property without heating until the end of my tenancy, which luckily I managed to end early. However, right before the end of my tenancy, contractors hired by the landlord were entering the house daily without my notice or permission. On one of these particular days, a contractor through no fault of his own ENTERED MY BEDROOM WHILE I WAS ASLEEP. He explained he had been told I had moved out already and luckily I was moving out that weekend otherwise I would have taken the situation further. Theres not an ounce of empathy or respect between any of the senior team, I spoke to one lady on the team who was very sweet and I honestly feel bad for her, I hope she can find a more fulfilling and ethical company to work for in the future! If you need more convincing just look at how they respond to other similar negative reviews, blame shifting or denying that the person even rented with them. Well Dominic and the team, I am more than happy to provide proof that I had the unfortunate experience of renting with you. Sincerely - Cameron

Negative experience: Dishonest and Unprofessional – Avoid at All Costs! I had an extremely unprofessional and unfair experience with Mr. Antony Eames and Client Director Mr. Dominic Kearney at Nexa Properties, which resulted in me losing my holding deposit and being unable to secure a new property. I am currently filing a formal complaint with the Property Ombudsman. Nexa provided a false and damaging reference about me simply because I challenged their attempt to take my entire deposit of £1,200. Mr. Antony Eames had falsely claimed he had sent me an email on February 3rd to justify why they were demanding the full deposit, but when I challenged him, he fabricated and backdated an email, sending it on February 24th to make it appear legitimate. When I escalated the issue to the Client Director, Mr. Dominic Kearney, instead of addressing the misconduct, he attempted to cover his colleague. Initially, he replied by email claiming that he had seen the February 3rd email, but when I challenged him over the phone, he admitted he never checked the date. Their reference falsely stated I left an electricity debt of £45, when their own checkout report shows I left a credit of £4.50. They also falsely claimed I left holes in the walls requiring plastering and painting, despite their report proving no such damage existed, and fabricated claims that I left items behind that needed removal. Mr. Kearney acknowledged over the phone that their own report contradicted their reference but refused to amend it, instead, he demanded I pay the full deposit before they would correct it. This company lacks integrity and prioritizes covering up their lies over doing the right thing. I strongly advise against dealing with Nexa Properties, as their management team is unethical, dishonest, and willing to cause harm rather than admit their wrongdoing. I will update this review once I win the DPS dispute and hear back from the Property Ombudsman.

Fantastic experience: Dominic @ Nexa was very knowledgable, friendly, and helped us the purchase of our first house the whole way. As first-time buyers, we did our research but still needed clarification sometimes, and Dominic and Nexa were always helpful. He was also able to communicate brilliantly between us the vendor (person selling the house) and kept us informed of everything that was going on during the purchasing process. I would heartily recommend both Dominic and Nexa properties for any buyers.

Fantastic experience: Neil Thorpe of Nexa provided an excellent service throughout the process, indeed at times it felt the deal would collapse without him. He was professional, responsive and understanding. Estate agents don’t have the best reputation generally but Neil goes a long way to reverse that - he offers something different.

Fantastic experience: Due to Nexa's expertise we received over our asking price. The effort and energy Neil showed to see us through this process was incredible. Selling a house is never easy and we had our fair share challenges but Neil appeared to be the only one on the ball, understanding each part of the chain and what we can do to overcome the challenges. More than the solicitors or other estate agents. You have never seen someone so proactive and work so hard for their client. There was no way that without his expertise and effort (day and night) would we have been able to get over the line in 4 months. This was all done remotely too, we live 40 minutes from the Nexa office, so it goes to show just how effectively Nexa communicate

Fantastic experience: Nexa in general are great to deal with. Direct contact to the agent and any queries or issues we responded to rapidly. The property I was selling was listed very professionally, exceptional attention to detail when taking the photos. Blue was excellent throughout and great to deal with. Dealt with any issues or queries that arose within hours. Easy to get hold of and Blue knew exactly how to sell the property and sold within 2 weeks of being listed.

Negative experience: Do not rent any property associated with Nexa especially if you are young!! We have had endless issues since renting through Nexa properties which they are still yet to acknowledge/resolve. These issues include damp within the property (black mould and mushrooms growing), leaking boiler, no hot water for days at a time, lack of security (windows that do not close), we were also without a shower for 3 months. If you are a young person they do not attempt to fix or resolve any issues you have until you threaten the council or not paying rent!

Positive experience: I had so many troubles with Nexa at the beginning of as 1 staff did not set up my account and following the case properly. I did make an internal complaint and after that things get improved. And the senior member took over the case and handled a little better from now on. I did give them 1 star before. Consider things move on and everything goes well as it should be. I am happy to give them 4stars now. Hope they can keep up with the work and can do business in long time with them.

Fantastic experience: I would recommend Mel from Nexa properties, she has been fantastic. Also Taryn, my mortgage advisor, was excellent. Overall a very positive buying experience

Negative experience: Very unprofessional in many ways. A range of issues throughout the house which were not fixed through the whole year of the tenancy, mould which was only Painted over and would be a recurring issue with them blaming ourselves for the issue. And at the end of the tenancy they take as much deposit as possible and claim the house was in a bad state when it wasn’t. Students please stay away!

Negative experience: First of i cant comment on other aspects of Nexa, only being a tenant renting through them. Would never rent through Nexa again tbh. Kept trying to get access to the properaty while we where at work for viewing after giving little notice. Took a large amaount for "cleaning charge" when we left the property exactly how we found it and now being charged £31.00 to get the remainder of the deposit back. Gave no support against a useless Landlord who never followed his legal obligations. The only plus side was they where a step up from pink street who they took over from. But all the tennants i spoke to in the block of flats said the exact same thing. Try to avoid renting through them.

Fantastic experience: I just sold my house through Nexa and can't recommend them highly enough. Had a buyer within a week and received good advice and guidance on price negotiations and some issues that arose with the building survey.

Fantastic experience: After having a bumpy ride with selling and buying with local untrustworthy estate agent, we met Sarah from NEXA, who turned our journey around... Sarah was upfront and straight to the point which helped us to move forward to selling our house. Sarah was respondent and always helpful, she may have been sick of our anxieties but would always calm and reassure us throughout the process. What was unique about Sarah was that she got to know us and the house so when anyone was viewing the property she could answer there questions honestly. If you’re looking for a reliable, keen and enthusiastic estate agent look no further. Her communication was prefect, and what everyone needs when buying/ selling a house. We felt in great hands with her and would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: We instructed Sarah from Nexa Properties in November 2022 with the sale of our house. What happened next was truly astonishing in a very good way. Not only did she sell our house in just under 5 days, she also got far more than the asking price. She then helped and pushed relentlessly to get the sale through to completion, which was not an easy task by all means. She is the only estate agent we know that is contactable out of hours and once she is on the case, she will make it happen.

Fantastic experience: I met Chris (NEXA) on viewing the property and his knowledge of the property market and the local area was exceptional such that it gave confidence in making a purchase. Chris was attentive to the sale, making enquiries on each stage. We were able to make further viewings and all our questions were answered promptly.

Negative experience: Terrible service. They treat international students with disregard. Heater in my room wasn't working, reported to them and instead of sending someone to fix it, they sent a DIY link. I told them I didn't have the needed tool and they said it was my responsibility to fix it. I had to get a mini heater after sleeping in the cold for ages. Also, there was no microwave in the kitchen; One of the tenants in the building had to get one even when the contract stipulated that every appliance was available. I'll skip NEXA properties if I were you.

Fantastic experience: From start to finish Sarah was so professional and responsive to any questions we had honestly can't no fault her professionalism always at the end of the phone and kept us up to date as soon as see could. If you need somebody to not only sell you home but make the experience as calm and stress free as possible, use sarah . We had issues with the house we were buying (though another agent) Sarah was on it amd got things sorted if we were to sell again I wouldn't think of anyone else I would rather use as I said before it was stress free on her part and honestly can't thank her enough for her efforts in helping us selling our flat and helping us get our new family home.

Fantastic experience: Selling my property wasn’t going to be easy. I had personal attachment to the place and needed the sale to be treated with sensitivity. My agent Darrell both recognised that and got me above market value on the sale. He was a fantastic help, not only with matters of property and industry knowledge beyond the average agent but with a fantastic customer rapport to the point where I feel like I made a genuine friend during the process! I wouldn’t recommend anyone else to friends and families selling their property.

Even though we hadn’t heard of the company she represents. This led us to ask Sarah to represent us in our house sale. Our house sale and move turned into a very complicated and stressful experience that required not your average Estate Agent skills. Sarah at all times kept a calm and professional approach, working countless hours with communication at weekends and well into the night at key stages of developments. When all seemed to be done and dusted yet another major problem occurred. Every other Estate Agent had their heads between their legs with defeat. Not Sarah! She literally took the situation into her own hands and contacted all involvements in the chain to find a solution suggesting options when others were content on failure. Sarah pretty much single handedly turned it all back around, got us and all in the chain their desired move and properties. If you are looking for an AVERAGE estate agent, working 9 to 5 with no passion, minimal effort and no fight, then this is NOT your Girl. She is unbelievable.! We can’t thank Sarah Oliver enough for everything, going well over and above basic obligatory duties, she thinks outside the box to find options and solutions when they arise. Sarah is an absolute Credit to herself. Nexa Properties should be very grateful for such a good ambassador to the company. Fantastic experience: This is our second property we have sold through Nexa and we cannot fault any part of the process. From the initial message to the high quality photographer and fantastic marketing for our Open House, the way Nexa agents read the current market really makes them stand out from the rest! Sarah is amazing, nothing short of a miracle to sell our home for the price we wanted. All the way through the process she was there and helped pick our buyer, as she spent time to get to know them as well to find the right person for our house. Sarah always knows how to market a property correctly to gain the right interest, and with the market slowing and mortgage concerns we were able to find a buyer and complete within 3 months!

Fantastic experience: Brilliant service. I would highly recommend Sarah Oliver at Nexa. Sarah contacted me with an off-market investment opportunity, a BTL property with tenants in situ. With no property of our own to sell this should have been a quick and easy purchase. Unfortunately, the process took over 6 months due to our inept solicitors and mortgage broker (unrelated to Nexa) Our solicitors and broker completely ignored my calls, emails, all and any attempt at communication and we had no idea what was happening with our ongoing purchase. Sarah however was professional, personable, reliable and communication was fantastic, nothing was too much trouble. I would call on Sarah all hours of the day and evening, she helped us to chase down responses from the solicitors and broker, she helped us draft a formal letter of complaint which finally got things moving along and she was there simply to listen to me vent all my anger and frustration (sorry Sarah!). She went above and beyond to make the purchase happen. I cannot recommend Nexa enough and wouldn't hesitate to use their services again, only next time I will also use their recommended solicitors and broker!! Thank you for everything Sarah.

Negative experience: I needed someone to find a buyer for a Buy-to-Let property with tenants already in. Sarah Oliver got me an offer, which I was initially happy with. I was told that the buyer was offering £252k, on a mortgage but could purchase cash if needed. What later transpired is that the offer was actually from 4 separate people (2 couples) and one of those couples was in their 70's; obviously a mortgage was complicated, nearly impossible. I only found out the offer was from 4 people while filling out paperwork, I was NEVER informed before accepting the offer. Many times over the transaction Sarah was lairy, rude and aggressive to myself and others involved with the transaction. I initially saw it as being driven, but after seeing some of these emails I wouldn't have put up with it. Once I spoke to the other parties and found out the offer was from 2 couples, one of which was 70+ SHE DROPPED ME. SHE EXITED THE TRANSACTION AND WE HADN'T MANAGED TO EXCHANGE. Sarah is unprofessional and aggressive. Looking at her listings she deals with very expensive property, but couldn't see through a £252k transaction without upsetting everyone else involved and running away. Disgusting service and anyone who asks will be told the same.

Negative experience: Just recieved my final deposit email. Crazy deductions and bogus cost. be extreamly careful with reading tenancy agreement and take photos of everything as we recieved 10% of our deposit back even though the property was in similar condition to how we found it 2 years ago. Wear and tear is fair, but expecting new for old is taking advantage of impoverished students, no real fair route to appeal either.

Negative experience: Problems with insect in the house I rented - house often has silver fish and carpet beetles all over the place, including bedrooms. Washing machines can often not function. Bins hardly get changed so you have to call the council yourself to get it removed, even after contacting NEXA. The supposed cleaner who is supposed to come once a week, stopped coming after the start of the second academic year. 10/10 do not recommend, especially for the price you have to pay. NEXA is poor at responding to emails.

Negative experience: 2017 - Giving 2* at a push as I understand that I only once dealt with one representative of the business while selling a property Firstly the agent gave a viewing while no one was at the property and left the back door wide open for the rest of the day. Was treated terribly - zero customer service. The goal posts of price kept moving. At first was promised a fair price but once signed up the agent wanted a quick sale, I guess to get his commission and gave offers of a much lower price. If I hadn't FOUGHT for the price that I was told in first place I would have been out of pocket by £12K. From my experience of selling would not use again, however if you want to buy cheaply and quickly then NEXA properties would be an ideal choice.

Fantastic experience: We have just bought a house in Southsea marketed by Nexa Estate Agents. I have to say, Chris Smeed was excellent and did everything to ensure that the sale went through smoothly and quickly. He was always prompt in answering calls and responding to any enquires. Also, his knowledge of the local area is great, and he was able to recommend solicitors, mortgage advisors and even trades people, all of whom were top-notch. I was very happy with the whole process of buying a property through Nexa and would definitely recommend Chris Smeed if you have a property to sell in this area.

Fantastic experience: From my initial enquiry on a property under development, through follow up engagement, offer and to purchase NEXA were totally professional and fully engaged. Compared to other agents I have dealt with who have displayed a 'can't be bothered' attitude NEXA are the complete opposite, fully understanding and supporting what I needed from my purchase.

She showed fantastic attention to detail, was extremely agile and clearly worked beyond the ‘office hours’ expected and kept us abreast of the sale every step of the way via text, phone or voice notes. She was extremely proactive online and via her own social media platforms; in terms of marketing the property. The sale was protracted and lasted some 8 months due to issues and breaks in the chain but even at the lowest moments, Sarah found a positive approach, communicated well with all parties and stewarded the chain with leadership and professionalism. I would recommend NEXA , but more so, I would recommend Sarah.

Negative experience: It's all Good until your tenancy ends, they will take your deposit claim things not being clean when they are. When they did the check out report it was ridiculous they try blame you for anything they can even if it wasn't your fault and already there when you moved in. They then charge you a silly amount for cleaning a small flat, £200 they charged when it was already clean. We left it cleaner than when we had moved in, it had rubbish under beds etc and they have the cheek to charge us. I doubt they will hire the cleaners to come just easy way to make money for them, and even if they do it will probably cost £80-100, so they win either way.

Fantastic experience: We were put on to Dominic Kearney at Nexa to help rent out our brand new coach house flat in Fair Oak subsequently going fully managed through them. The advise we received and quality marketing paved the way to us achieving our top end rental valuation. (This top end figure was quoted by several local agents). Within 48 hours of going live on rightmove, we had the awkward decision of selecting a tenant! The service so far that we have recieved has surpassed our expectations. Negative experience: My son was treated very poorly by these people at the end of his tenancy. He had rented somewhere through them for over 3 years and when it came time for him to move even though the place was spotless they nit picked over silly issues like a clothes hanger left in a wardrobe and a 4 year old mattress protector missing, dust in a drawer and bucket and mop missing that was never there in the first place. After various emails back and fourth and him being told virtually that this is their busy time of year so he would have to wait until THEY were ready to deal with him he contacted the landlord directly who said he was perfectly happy with the flat and he had instructed them to release his deposit, which he then got back within days!.... Very poor treatment of a good paying tenant !

Fantastic experience: I can't recommend Jonathan from NEXA highly enough !!! Within 2 weeks of our first conversation, Jon had gone above and beyond... Literally bending over backwards to help me find a removals company and clear the flat himself !! His communication was always immediate and impeccable every step of the way ... Offering suggestion upon suggestion of additional help .. From having a grandfather clock valued to helping me remove old vehicles from the garage ... This help was all phenomenal as I had travelled alone 200 miles to clear my dear fatgers flat without any help from siblings at all .. Fantastic experience: I sold my flat recently with Nexa. Darrell was my personal estate agent and I only ever discussed things with him which was nice. I liked the fact that Darrell was honest about pricing the flat so it was realistic. The flat sold quickly in a time where I thought it would be difficult to sell (Just before Christmas and during the pandemic). Darrell kept me up to date and it was easy to deal with him. I'd definitely recommend using Nexa, I really liked the personal touch.

Negative experience: This company is not professional when it comes to their marketing strategy. Mass distributing print media across Portsmouth homes, advertising an individual agent, is fine. But not when a property clearly states "Addressed mail only". After a few months of receiving 11 leaflets (multi unit freehold block) through the door every week or so i decided to email and suggest they stopped this behaviour, to which i received no response. Our postman has access and delivers mail to our residents mailboxes. NEXA cover our porch floor in their leaflets which go no further than the porch. Today again more were delivered. Please respect the properties of Portsmouth and don't deliver if there's a sign directing you not too.

Positive experience: I never normaly leave reviews but will make an exception in this case to share my views on the approach taken by Joe Feast to sell my property. Joe was always available and responsive, nothing was too much trouble and when the first sale collapsed his enthusiasm never faltered, he always went the extra mile to keep things going, his positive and proffessional approach being his greatest asset.

Fantastic experience: We used Nexa to let our property for several years and they were very organised and professional so, when we deicded to sell the property, they were the obvious choice. As part of the selling process, we were transferred to Joe Feast, Client Director, and Joe has been fantastic throughout the whole process. The sale proved challenging, through no fault of Nexa, but Joe kept behind all parties, including both sets of solicitors, and manage to finally get the sale completed. I'm not sure it would've happened without him. So a very strong recommendation from us for Nexa, and Joe in particular.

Fantastic experience: When we first met Neil for an initial appraisal of our house we were impressed by the research he had already completed on the market in our area and his thoughts on a pricing strategy for our house. He was able to clearly explain the process and what NEXA would provide for the potential fee. We were very happy with the photographs and brochure that was produced which looked very professional and showcased what our home had to offer. Once the property was listed Neil's communication was excellent giving us plenty of notice for viewings and his feedback after each was honest and helpful. Neil managed to sell our property within a week of it being listed but unfortunately that later fell through. Neil ensured that the property was relisted almost immediately and had already secured more viewings within a day. The property was resold in less than a week (at a higher price) keeping our chain from breaking. At a very stressful time Neil was always available and went above and beyond for us which was in stark contrast to the service we received from the agent we were buying from. As things progressed Neil did a great job at moving the process along by ensuring all parties involved were on top of what needed to be done until we were able to exchange. We couldn't recommend NEXA and Neil any more highly.
