From the very beginning, Fox & Sons were incredibly helpful and supportive throughout the whole rental process. Negative experience: Be careful with letting side of this company, record all conversations and get everything in writing, ensure they have confirmed information from Landlord, lack of communication when running late, bad planing when upgrading communication equipment with putting in contingency. To avoid disappointment do nt deal with them.

Fantastic experience: I have always had a friendly and professional service with Abbey. She is very efficient with any communications with myself and my tenants.

Positive experience: A generally decent experience with Fox & Sons, once staff had managed to clarify our many questions about the modern method of auction process. We have no way of knowing their level of activity on our behalf, although Callum and Adam were usually good at responding to our specific questions. We were notified of most - but not all - viewings in advance. After initially generating a little interest but no realistic offers, things did pick up when we revised the entry price. Unfortunately, the pricing was the aspect that most concerned us. After being advised of the perceived value of the house and suggested guide level, we discovered that the interest we were given to expect did not materialise. After discussions with Adam, we dropped the entry point by two levels and the reserve price by £40,000. It did then attract sufficient interest for us to be able to sell it - but at close to £50,000 less than we had been led to believe it might fetch. We were content with the final outcome but left a little disappointed by having been given what we believe was false hope in our initial conversations - something we raised directly with the company before writing this review.

Negative experience: No employee in this branch have served on operations in uniform. But they take pleasure in hounding and annoying ex-members of the Armed Forces, who suffer with PTSD, with text messages even though they have no properties listed for sale here. Avoid at all costs.

Negative experience: Possibly one of the worst agents in Portsmouth. In the 3 months they marketed my property they didn't book 1 viewing. They never called me with updates or communicate anything with me. I continually had to chase them for responses and they showed no interest in selling my property. Lazy agents is an understatement. I eventually raised a complaint with Head Office and even they failed to address my concerns. Please avoid selling or buying through Fox and Sons, specifically the inexperienced team in North End.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful experience selling my property with the help of Fox and Son's in Portsmouth. It took me five months in total from beginning the process to completing the sale of my one bedroom flat. The initial assessment and advertising of my flat was first class; the photography and wording of the advertisement was of a high quality, and ensured that my property had a wide reach. The Branch Manager, Adam was very professional, reassuring and knowledgeable. I was able to sell my flat with Fox and Son's within three weeks of it being listed, which was absolutely fantastic. Gemma at Fox and Son's in particular was absolutely outstanding; she is professional, compassionate, personable and her communication is exemplary. ❤️Gemma would often provide a huge amount of her time to speak to me over the phone when the circumstances became a little stressful, and any concerns were acted upon swiftly. A massive thank you to Gemma, the Residential Sales Manager. Unfortunately, the one negative point that I would have to make would be that the solicitor firm that Fox and Son's endorse and recommend to their buyer was - at times - extremely poor. The solicitor that my buyer was encouraged to use, Premier Property Management was disorganised, unable to be contacted, and slow to act, and their communication with my own solicitor was disrespectful and lacking, unfortunately. This became apparent only within the final month of attempting to complete, and made the last six weeks frustrating and unnecessarily prolonged. I would like to make it clear that this is a completely separate concern to the excellent service that Fox and Son's provide as an Estate Agent, and have subsequently been reassured by the Branch Manager, Adam that as a company, Fox and Son's is disappointed with their solicitor's performance, and shall review their relationship with that solicitor moving forward. If buying through Fox and Son's, I would suggest using your own solicitor to ensure a more straight-forward process. Fox and Son's in Portsmouth is an Estate Agent I would definitely recommend, and would not hesitate to use their service again. Negative experience: Our experience of selling our property with the Portsmouth branch of Fox & Son was very poor. The initial conversations seemed promising. The guy that came round to value the property asked good questions, was friendly, and made Fox sound like good value for money. However following the valuation, things went downhill. Firstly we didn't receive several of the marketing elements we'd been promised, such as measurements on the floor plan, an interactive 3D plan, and a video tour as part of the marketing. Some of the photos from their photographer turned out really poorly, discoloured, and made the property appear smaller than it is - these went live unquestioned by Fox. Secondly, there was very little communication (just 6 phone calls in 16 weeks, the majority of which we instigated) and we were offered very limited advice on how to get viewers or progress the sale. The only thing we were advised was to lower the price, which we did three times, at which point it was far below any valuations. Thirdly when asking for amendments to the advertising to help move things along, they didn't take on board all of our points and we ended up rewriting it completely ourselves, as well as taking our own pictures. In the end we got no viewings in the 14 week marketing period, although the end of contract summary afterwards claimed two viewings happened. We also discovered that their preferred /recommended conveyancing team used is notoriously bad and warned against by other estate agents. They were impossible to communicate with and we quickly moved away from them. For these reasons we'd find it hard to recommend Fox & Son.

Fantastic experience: Just purchased my property through fox and sons by the lovely Gemma. From the very start showing me the property Gemma was very enthusiastic, informative, proactive and clearly very good at her job. I built a great and trusting relationship with Gemma. She always kept to her word, kept me up to date, was professional and went above and beyond for me which no doubt she does for others too. There was a few moments I wasn't sure if the sale would go through due to some legalities but Gemma got straight on to it, and well, I'm sat here from the comfort of my new home writing this review. I will recommend Gemma and Fox and Sons to all my family and friends, and when I need assistance again I know exactly where to go. Thanks so much Gemma you star!
