Fantastic experience: Iv recently moved out of a Chinneck shaw property (studio flat)I lived there for just over 5 1/2 years just before Covid lockdown, the rent I was being charged was more than reasonable, I never had any issues, all repairs were dealt with in a timely manner, the only reason I moved out was because I badly needed a bedroom or I would have stayed, would definitely recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Positive experience: I would give Tim and the sales team 5 stars. This was my first experience of selling a property and they were very helpful and supportive. It was the after sales that dropped a star. Once the sale was agreed things seemed to be progressing well but then the bottom two parties and their solicitors seemed to be dragging their heels. ‘One last enquiry’ turned into about a dozen and took over two months to sort out. Communication between all parties was at times giving conflicting info. I was told the usual timescale between agreeing a sale and completion was 3-4 months but this took over 6 months

Negative experience: We met Tim at a lovely property, and emailed his team later that day. It isn't the fact that they sold the house to someone else, that happens in this game, it's the fact that we haven't been extended the courtesy of any kind of reply. This unworthy customer will certainly not do business with this firm on any home we may purchase, or sell.

Maintenance issues were handled promptly and professionally, and the team was always willing to accommodate my busy schedule. One of the most impressive aspects was the rent. It was very reasonable compared to similar properties in the local area, and there were no annual increases throughout my tenancy. I also appreciate the transparency in managing my rental account. On two occasions, I had unknowingly overpaid via bank transfer, and Chinneck Shaw proactively reviewed my account, refunded the overpayment, and returned my deposit without any hassle. Overall, I couldn’t be happier with the service and would gladly recommend Chinneck Shaw to anyone seeking a well-managed rental property. I only wish I could stay longer at the property but had to relocate out of the city due to work. Fantastic experience: We bought through Chinnek Shaw 6 months ago and I cannot sing their praises enough. I’ve been meaning to write this 5 star rave review since our sale went through. From start the finish I can’t stress how seamlessly professional the team are. Having looked at several properties in Portsmouth with numerous different estate agencies we’d become used to chasing agents around for information and preparing ourselves for the various sales -tactic -interactions. With Chinnek Shaw we experienced only warm, honest and very knowledgeable encounters. We were shown our house by Jamie, who was lovely and offered up detailed information about the property and its history and then simply held space for us to look around without pressure. It allowed us to confer in peace and feel that ‘this is the one’ feeling. We placed an offer within 20 minutes of viewing and it was accepted immediately! We moved in 10 weeks later and I do largely thank Chinnek Shaw’s efficiency with handling the sales progression. Every associate we dealt with was so helpful, from removing unwanted items from the property, to keeping us informed regularly, answering all our questions, contacting our conveyancers regularly with updates and keeping the property clean and aired out for our arrival. These guys are seasoned property experts who really care and take pride in their work. I certainly won’t be looking elsewhere if we ever choose to sell down the line. Thank you to the whole team for helping us buy our wonderful home!

Fantastic experience: We bought through Chinneck Shaw and they were simply excellent all the way through. We met Tim when he showed us around a house that we had requested, but wasn’t quite right. He told us about another one coming on outside of where we were looking but had everything we wanted. So many agents are happy to just stick a house on Rightmove and be reactive. Not the case here! During the sale we had a long and difficult chain but Toni, their Sales progressor, was the one person always proactively chasing and coming up with the answers. When we lost our buyer Tim and her held the chain together, and eventually we got there. Overall, a top estate agents.

Negative experience: I contracted this agent for three months from May ‘24 to July ‘24. The marketing material was fine and initial communications were constructive, however, after going live with the property literally nothing happened. I found myself having to constantly chase the agent with phone calls and emails and there was virtually no input from them whatsoever. The property received no viewings at all within this period and eventually I gave instructions to remove the listing. Overall a most frustrating and underwhelming experience. I wouldn’t be inclined to endorse this agent nor would I be disposed to recommend them.

Fantastic experience: Chinneck Shaw managed the first letting of a newly purchased property - a nail biting time for me. A meeting to establish my specific criteria and to learn about the local market trends for the type of property proved very beneficial. When a good prospect was found it was easy to make the quick decisions needed. They have been a success with neighbour relations as well, and their accounts team have delivered everything on time as expected. A Pleasure to work with and it seems popular with the local trades for prompt payments.

Fantastic experience: We recently sold through Chinnecks and i've got to say, the service was fantastic. The smoothness of the sales was helped by having fantastic buyers, but Chinnecks delivered on every promise and the sales progression sets a standard that other agents should aspire to.

Negative experience: We viewed a property with Chinneck Shaw a number of months ago. We knew this was a difficult to get property due to some requirements set our by the landlord but we were told to apply anyway by the agent who showed us around the property as there may be a chance to be considered. We were required to write a statement about ourselves and provide a lot of details to apply, which we did within the same day of the viewing. Unfortunately, our emails were never once acknowledged by anyone at Chinneck Shaw, despite the amount of time and work put into the application. We did follow up on multiple occasions but in the end never received any further communication from them. Whilst we understand the property market is super competitive, I think it's really important to remember that the property search is a really difficult process. A little bit of kindness and care in communication with people who have taken the time to engage with you and your properties can go a long way. We definitely would have been open to seeing other properties managed by Chinneck Shaw but after this experience we didn't feel confident to view any more of their properties. Unfortunately, this really set an expectation of the way they would have managed us as tenants communication wise and we wanted to be with a letting agency we could depend on for quick communication and help. We've now been able to find a lovely flat and a really amazing letting agency, but just wanted to share this so you can hopefully improve in your processes with other prospective tenants moving forwards. Outside of this, the people we did manage to communicate with at Chinneck Shaw were really nice, and the viewing we went to was great, I just wish the follow up comms were as good.

Fantastic experience: I was very new in Portsmouth 3years ago when house hunting for my family and it was very daunting. I met Glynis from Chinneck Shaw while viewing one of their apartments. And we got that in spades, after bad experiences with agents in the past the team were a welcome change to my norm. They sold the house after the second viewing and Toni kept us updated weekly, even when the chain went pear shaped, they fought hard to get it up and running again, and were always prompt in replying to our emails. We completed on Friday with our original buyer. The service Tim and the team provided was exemplary and I highly recommend these agent's.

Fantastic experience: Lovely estate agent to work with on my purchase from start to finish. Tim handled the viewings and customer service side and Toni handled the sale process. Fantastic experience: The only option for selling your home in portsmouth. We had the most painful situation imaginable with buyers buyer trying to under offer, falling through and disappearing all together for weeks on end. Without Chinneck Shaw and in particular the efforts of Toni, their sales progressor, our move would have no question fallen through. The only sadness of this successful move is we moved far enough away that we won’t be able to use their services again. They were so impressive to the point that the onwards agents we were buying from said they were the best estate agents they had ever worked with. Positive experience: Selling property is never totally without stress! But Tim at chinneck shaw delivers a calm and thoughtful approach to estate agency. Then I was recommended Chinneck the service was like chalk and cheese Tim advised me on best way to presenting the house better for photos and viewing On the first day of viewing the third couple to view the house make me an offer and I sold my house I wish I had gone with them at the start of this because I could have been moved Into a new house by now.
