Fantastic experience: After all initial contact about a house viewing DB Robert’s have been considerate and patient in relation to us finally being able to make an offer on a property after a number of weeks. Positive experience: As first-time buyers, Alex and Adam were helpful, responsive and made genuine efforts to keep things moving. Despite there being no chain, the process took around four months, which was longer than we had expected and at times frustrating. Much of the delay came from the legal side, where the solicitor had been recommended by the estate agent. While this was outside Alex and Adam’s direct control, it did make the purchase feel more drawn out than anticipated. In the final stages, Alex was particularly helpful pushing to ensure the completion date was before Christmas. Without that persistence, the process would likely have taken significantly longer. Overall, they are a good estate agency that was let down by association rather than by the service provided by Alex and Adam.

The other two estate agents came across as pushy, over confident, wanted to be mates, discussing holidays. Adam, the manager at DB Roberts, was quietly confident, professional but not pushy. He didn't give us the sales talk, didn't fetch out loads of print outs of similar properties in the area for comparison. He gave us a good estimate of what the property was worth, without going over the top, he was complimentary, business like, and we found him reassuring. His staff have kept us informed of viewings, feedback and gave us sound advice. We sold 2 months after it went on the market. Excellent result.

Fantastic experience: The whole experience has been fairly stress free. Dan came out to see me, having done his research, he gave a realistic valuation for the bungalow. The fees seemed reasonable so I signed up. They confirmed that I already had a solicitor handling the sale, unlike a different company there was "no hard sell" or lectures. The property was marketed promptly with the agents covering the viewings. The bungalow sold quickly but 5 weeks later, the prospective purchasers became unreasonable so it was back on the market. At this stage most of my dealings were with Alex who offered me very good advice. Numerous viewings were made and the 1st couple, after spending 1hr with Alex, who then followed up the next day, made an offer which I accepted. After all the checks, ie who was in the chain, had been made the other viewings were cancelled. At all times I have been kept informed about the process. I can't fault them all the staff have been excellent.

Negative experience: Our experience with DB Roberts Stafford has been deeply disappointing and frustrating from start to finish. We entrusted them with the sale of our elderly parents’ family home and ultimately had to end the contract due to repeated failings and a complete loss of confidence in their service. One of the main issues was poor communication. We were told to expect biweekly updates on marketing and feedback — over the entire time the property was live, we received just two updates, both only after we chased them. When we emailed with questions or concerns, replies often took days, even when multiple staff members were copied in. This shows a complete lack of urgency and professionalism. There were also several basic administrative errors that we had to repeatedly follow up on. For example, the property was incorrectly listed as "link-detached" rather than "detached" — a correction that wasn’t made until the property had already been live for several weeks. We also had to follow up multiple times to get "NO UPWARD CHAIN" added to the listing. Despite specifically requesting accompanied viewings (as our parents are elderly and uncomfortable conducting these themselves), they were left to manage two out of the three viewings on their own. Just a few weeks after the property was listed, we were pushed to reduce the price. This suggests either the original valuation was wrong or there was a rush for a quick sale with minimal effort. Neither explanation inspired confidence. After we ended the contract, DB Roberts assured us the property would be removed from all portals — it wasn’t. I had to chase this too. Similarly, the for-sale board was never collected as promised, and my elderly father had to remove it himself. Even more concerning, a viewing was scheduled after the contract had expired, which we understand is not legally permitted without a valid agreement in place. In short, this was an awful experience, marked by poor communication, a lack of urgency, broken promises, and a general disregard for both our instructions and our elderly parents’ wellbeing. If you live in Stafford, perhaps your experience might differ — but if you're in one of the surrounding villages, I would strongly advise looking elsewhere. REPLY TO OWNER COMMENTS: Thank you for your response. However, I would like to clarify that I did reach out and attempted to discuss our concerns directly during the contract period. Unfortunately, those concerns were not addressed at the time, which is why I felt it necessary to share my experience now. I hope this feedback will help inform improvements moving forward.
