Lack of communication..seemed like they just didn't care Wasn't till after a few weeks of having my house up for sale with them that people started commenting on how bad they were...in all departments from sales and buying to renting problems.

Fantastic experience: We hired the mortgage advise from Connells. We have had good advise from Roberta, the process was transparent and the communication has been fluid and clear. I think we got a pretty good deal.

Negative experience: Landlord withheld deposit, and a dispute was raised while connells withheld my deposit £1050 TDS claim was initiated. Connells did not present my lengthy evidence to support my clear win claim. I therefore lost my deposit. Would not recommend.

Fantastic experience: Mike has been professional and very responsive in all our dealings in getting my house ready to market. With his level of experience and expertise I’ve no doubt it will be sold in no time. Highly recommended.

Negative experience: Extremely poor communication and customer service from the team at Stafford. I received a call on the Tuesday from a person called Dan, unfortunately due to a poor telephone signal on my end I didn't notice it until I got home. I did receive a voice message that asked me to phone, however the office was closed. In the voice message Dan said that he had sent an email confirming the viewing. I checked my email but no email had been sent, I even looked at the junk box. On Wednesday I phoned Connels and spoke to a lady and she informed me that Dan was off today and there was nothing booked for the viewing. She informed me that a message would be sent to Dan with reference to viewing. I did not receive any feedback on Thursday so I phoned in today and spoke

Fantastic experience: My partner and I have been using Connells to purchase our first home, and I can’t recommend Roberta enough. She has made this process seem so easy, and with her support and expertise, she has allowed us to enjoy the experience of buying our first home without the stress. Negative experience: Connells sent false allegations to my landlord and instead of addressing it the stafford branch was negligent. I was then told to contact complaince, so I did. The branch manager reviewed what happened however, I was gaslighted further with no apology for this company sending FALSE allegations to my landlord; along with no apology for the lettings manager being extremely rude over the phone. This isn't about what the landlord wanted, I wanted somebody to address why this company sent false allegations to my landlord and didnt even try and rectify it.

Negative experience: Someone called a welfare check on us and now connells is ilegally claiming we broke anti-social clause on our tenancy despite no crime being comitted. Now my children and I have to find a new place to move in 2 months. We were obviously targeted by a neighbor and Stafford branch is refusing to apologize. Uptdate: Lettings Manager (meg wood) would not let me ask questions and kept cutting me off; she also claiming that welfare checks dont exist in england and that we denied access for an inspection which is not true as Will was here on the 24th and took photos of the inside. She admitted that the reason for the inspection had to to with the above situation. After cutting me off repeatedly and not letting me ask a single question, she hung up on me. We're a vulnerable household as I'm physically disabled on top of having autism and one of the symptoms of having autism is asking for clarification? which, I should be able to do as a tenant. The Stafford branch will also not answer any of my questions including details on how to contact the landlord or what to do with the nettles or overgrown plants in the garden that my toddler touched due to the branch not hiring a gardener prior to us moving in. They're claiming me asking questions and trying to get help from outside the branch is harassment. Avoid stafford branch at all costs. Update: the branch manager contacted me and did not apologize for sending false allegations to my landlord and i was instead gaslighted further

Negative experience: My experience after renting a home through Connells Stafford branch for 5 years!!! Was appalling. We left the property for the branch to attempt to charge us illegal fees (tenancy renewal fees made illegal in 2019 and the fee the reckon was from 2020 but attempting to charge us for it in 2024 when we decide to leave the property…). The office staff do not seem to communicate. Helens attitude is absolutely appalling, how she works in customer service is beyond me (I have also seen other reviews about Helen’s attitude towards customers). Months of back and forth arguing over the attempt of them taking illegal fees from my rental deposit could have all been avoided with some simple customer service training and communication within the office. The only helpful member of staff I found was Megan but even then it always seemed she to be rushed off her feet. (probably clearing other staff members messes up). Overall I would just avoid Connells Stafford for rentals as there is plenty of better estate agencies within Stafford which abide by the rules on letting out properties and are probably more professional and customer friendly

Negative experience: Called to make an appointment to view a home and dealt with someone who was super rude in the lettings team who ‘passed on a message’ for the sales team to call me back. They didn’t pass on the message so I called again and when I eventually spoke to someone I was told I’d need a mortgage in principle to VIEW a property. I’d already advised we’ve got a financial advisor and are in a position to put in offers and they wanted a mortgage in principle PER VIEWING. Advised I’ve never had this request from any other estate agents (why would they for simply a viewing) and they’ve now lost first time buyer business. Amazing they sell anything if this is their process! Very disappointing and extremely put off, will not be reaching out again no matter how lovely the house is.

Negative experience: Absolutely disgusting company.. after spending over £2,000 on surveys and solicitors as there was a severe damp problem with 29 Marsh Street Stafford ! After getting these problems sorted and money in place, I tried for over 2 weeks to contact the person dealing the house but I was passed around the office unable to move forward. I called and emailed to say funds are waiting, I then received an email by a new manager john Hill stating that the house was now being offered for sale as a modern method of auction. Very back handed company, Staff don't hang around for long! £2,000k out of pocket. . New buyers be aware!

Negative experience: First and foremost, no issues with connells themselves at all. Polite when visiting tenants, do they’re job properly, couldn’t fault them. However Helen at the branch, was incredibly rude over the phone with us, then to come in store and be met with the same attitude was a big shame. It’s never nice to be told you’re losing your home, I understand it’s a day to day job for the staff but unfortunately the routine and Rhythm of it being a job has dehumanised the entire journey of it. Not at all happy with the customer service from Helen at all today, it’s one thing being told you have to move but being spoken to the way we were about it, was not necessary and could have been done better!

Fantastic experience: We couldn't thank Roberta Cooper-Evans more for all her help. As first time buyers, she made the whole process smooth and easy for us! She is the only mortgage adviser who actually try to put my name on the morgage (as I’m under a spouse visa) with my husband. Whoever finds this comment subjective is welcome, but this is what I feel. I had worked with two Connells staff so far. I am very pleased with both of their communication skills. I’ve taken mortgage consultancy services from Miss Sian Williams in Connells. She is an excellent advisor with great communication, planning, and follow-up skills. She has provided consultancy according to my unusual case with utmost care. That was what I was looking for in today’s world invaded by Chatbots, ChatGPT, and OpenAI. It is wonderful to communicate with a professional human being with so much experience who also keeps track of the current market conditions and forecasts. I would highly recommend Sian to anyone for her mortgage services consultancy. The other staff was the Sales Negotiator Miss Imogen Lees. She had been very helpful and stayed patient with my family’s various asks. Always behaved friendly and welcoming. Hope to work with her in the future again.

Negative experience: I have recently bought a house through Connells Stafford office. I rate them one star as they lied to me both verbally and in emails over a period of many weeks that there was no chain (of which I was the first cashbuyer.) So, based on my experience I'd suggest that if you are buying through Connells you take everything they tell you both verbal and written with a shovelful of salt.
