Fantastic experience: I have been using the services of Leaders for a while now and have always found them to be courteous, friendly and helpful. I now rent a flat with them and when ever there have been minor maintenance issues they have been dealt with swiftly and efficiently by Taylor, the property manager. I would recommend them to anyone looking to rent a property in their catchment area.

Positive experience: Ive let my property for 3/4 years with leaders and its just a never ending money pit. They've never been able to source a long term tenant, in fact their contracts with tenants are pointless because they can pay as exit fee to break out of it early meaning you can be left with gaps between tenants and paying their set up frees, over and over and over again. I pay the highest rate for full management and protection of the property, however the tradesmen they use are disgustingly over priced that ive often tried to source my own repairs works. I have also had issues where mid-tenancy property checks weren't complete and the tenant trashed the property which resulted in a load of work needing to be done on the house. The constant pay out for repairs from this tenant and regularly new tenants coming in/out has left me without rent for many months which has put me in financial difficulties. The saving grace for Leaders Bitterne is that Taylor is supportive as my property manager and puts up with my moaning and grumbles. Plus Jayne the branch manager has always been supportive on the phone and via email.

Negative experience: They were my letting agents for 7 years, in that time only 1 check was made on the property. The quotes they give for work needed (tap change, fence repair etc) are marked up considerably, it's a known fact with tradesmen that Leaders add on their own generous mark up, this is in addition to your monthly management fee. Would advise landlords check verbally all the charges they will make for outgoing and incoming tenants and then make your own decision.

Negative experience: Our experience with this agency has been extremely disappointing and stressful. We informed them in advance about our intention to vacate the property, but received no response for several months. Later, they acted surprised that we were leaving - even though we had followed the proper process. After our departure, they attempted to deduct unreasonable amounts from our deposit. For example, they claimed we had taken items that were originally ours (like our own potted plants) and used photos from a report that was made three months after we had already been living in the house. They also tried to charge us for the grass being yellow - even though the check-out report was done three days after we moved out during a period of very hot weather. They mentioned there was some dirt in the house, but the agent started conducting viewings immediately after collecting our keys, and the check-out report wasn’t done until days later. We went through a great deal of unnecessary stress and wasted a lot of time dealing with this agency. The overall service was truly disappointing.

For a landlord of a large HMO it has been helpful to have such a proactive team, and Taylor was especially great dealing with a recent insurance problem. Negative experience: From start to finish, our experience with Leaders was less than satisfactory. Countless calls and emails on moving in, correcting issues and then when moving out of the property. Most emails did not get answered, most messages left were not gotten back to and constant chasing to complete a service. Our query or concern was always getting passed on to someone who would deal with it but never did. It wasn’t that a door handle was loose, it was the property was not up to standard when moving in, after a short notice month delay to get into the property. Nearly 4 years of tenancy to have to chase our deposit and wait nearly 2 months to get our money back. Not to receive an email on checkout of the property or any communication. We were very disappointed with how situations were handled. As a renter for 20 years I have had my fair share of landlords and estate agents, I would not use Leaders Bitterne again.

Negative experience: Becareful with No deposit option. It is a good marketing strategy. You thought you pay monthly £50 extra to cover yourself at the end and years later you have got to pay £550 for cleaning fee etc. i paid £1500 so far and it doesn’t cover by my deposit because no deposit option does not replace deposit. What is that for then ?

Fantastic experience: This was my first experience with an estate agency while I was looking for a property with my partner, and I can say it was genuinely outstanding. Our agent, Taylor, was so friendly and easy-going, it was so refreshing for me personally not to feel awkward in a social situation of this kind. He answered all the questions we had, no matter how silly or bizarre, with patience and a friendly smile. We, of course, ended up moving into the said property, and have been happily living there for over half a year now. Taylor instructed us on how to get in touch provided we encountered any issues, and he has been a great help ever since. I’ve never had things fixed in my home so quickly and easily. He always informs us on any updates, upcoming construction at the property and any messages from our landlord. Taylor has been doing an excellent job helping us, and both my partner and I are massively grateful for his dedication to his job.
