Negative experience: Very disappointing customer service. I called to ask about a couple of properties and provided the exact area and nearby location, but because I didn’t have the precise street name at that moment, the agent refused to help at all. There was no attempt to assist, guide, or even suggest how to find the information. The response felt dismissive and unhelpful. Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time I’ve experienced poor service here. On a previous occasion, I tried to arrange a viewing and was simply told it couldn’t be done, with no effort to offer an alternative date or solution. Overall, the interactions have felt abrupt and unaccommodating. A bit of willingness to help would make a huge difference.

Fantastic experience: Buying our first home was a much longer process than expected, especially with a five‑month delay at Land Registry, but Yvonne guided us through every twist and turn with patience and reassurance. She kept us informed, explained each step clearly, and made a stressful situation feel manageable. Her dedication genuinely made all the difference. In the meantime, Jess was always there to welcome us for viewings — no matter how many times we wanted to pop back and take another look or measure up. She was friendly, accommodating, and made us feel completely at ease each visit. Despite the delays, we always felt supported, listened to, and looked after. Fantastic experience: Cole was fantastic and handled the selling process wonderfully , answered all questions in great detail and showed amazing market knowledge. The team were great and really got to know our house. The real star of the show for us though had to be Yvonne ! The bit between our offer and completion was extremely stressful for us ( not due to number one ) and Yvonne took all the stress out. She was there what felt like 24/7 was extremely friendly , professional and knowledgable and totally fixed any situation thrown at her. Honestly cannot thank Yvonne enough for the level of care and guidance provided to us ! She really does go over and above everytime. Weirdly you don’t think about the post offer part of selling your house much but for us this portfolio was longer than the selling part and over complicated by our solicitor. Fantastic experience: Steven Brown - legend! After a disappointing inital experience with a different Estate Agent company, we chose Steven Brown on the recommendationof our son and daughter-in-law, and what a breath of fresh air he turned out to be. We had a smattering of viewings (three or four) with the first company in three months but had many times that through Steven in the first two weeks! His pro-active approach to marketing and his professional expertise generated a lot of interest in our property and his friendly but highly competent manner led to a sale with which we and the buyer were very satisfied. Steven is very pleasant, easy-going, knowledgeable and an all-round nice guy - who happens to be an excellent estate agent into the bargain! I would (and have) recommend him to anyone looking to buy or sell property.

Since our first viewing of the house we wanted, to the process of putting our house on the market, the whole process was so smooth and easy. Massive thank you to Brunee, who arranged all of the viewings of our house in one day, received multiple offers and found us the perfect buyers. She was always here to help and answer all of our queries. Also, a big thank you to Julie, who helped us communicate effortlessly with the buyers of our house and the vendors of the house we were buying. She answered all the queries in no time, which definitely reduced our stress levels during this period. We will 100% be using Number One for any future house moves and will be recommending them to everyone!

Negative experience: Will overprice your property to get the contract, 50% of the time they will reduce by 10k within the first 6 weeks. Then buyers will offer a lower bid again, if you’re happy to achieve 10-20k less. If lucky or property is in demand, then you may get what they say. They will ask for £30 per person for AML checks when these cost about £2 and you’d like to think this would be included in 1.25%. I went with another estate agent who sold before a board was put in place, didn’t need one! They also didn’t ask for £30 for Anti money laundering checks.

Fantastic experience: Not having had success with another agency we asked Gemma at Number One Real Estate to come and see us. Our mother's house was empty and we had had very few viewings. The marketing that they carried out for us did the trick and the house sold relatively quickly. We dealt with a number of people at the agency and all were very helpful. Fantastic experience: We recently purchased a property sold through Number One Estate Agents. There were no significant dramas and the sale progressed in a reasonable time. We did not need to speak with the Estate Agents too often, which is a sign things progressed as they should. When we did communicate with the Estate Agents, it was simple and easy. While the Estate agent did not do any magic tricks, they did not need too. They did their job and that's all that everyone in the chain required. A straightforward sale, not made more difficult by the Estate Agent. Not that we are planning on selling anytime soon, but if we were, we would not hesitate to use Number One.
