He has been looking after my mortgage needs, as well as my family’s for over 20 years, and throughout that time he has been excellent. Liam is incredibly knowledgeable, not just about mortgages but about the housing market as a whole. He takes the time to explain everything clearly, gives honest and well considered advice, and always tries to get the best deals available. You genuinely feel that he has your best interests at heart. He’s always helpful, responsive and professional from the start to the end of the mortgage scoping and application process.

Tenant employment was a mystery, and slow referencing left me no choice but to accept, while the contract arrived at the very last minute with laughable errors. Three weeks have passed, and progress on getting my rent has been painfully slow. A true masterclass in chaos.

James Lamb was very professional in dealing with all aspects of our sale and ensured that we got an acceptable price for our property quickly. Negative experience: **Review for Allen and Harris Estate Agents ROATH BRANCH:** NO STARS GIVEN—unfortunately, that option isn’t available! My experience with Allen and Harris Roath has been nothing short of a nightmare. They lost a sale on my property just three days after it was “sold”. After the third viewing, I was alarmed by Ring doorbell footage showing the buyer's hands covering the camera and the salesman Yupy suggesting a property £60,000 more that was renovated, despite having already knocked my price down by £10,000. Even stated the address of the other property. I immediately lodged a complaint, but Mel, who claimed to be a manager, was actually just admin and left me waiting for ID checks and that everything was fine. On a bank holiday Monday, I received a call from James, the valuer, informing me that the buyers had pulled out—without a courtesy call from the salesman, Yupy. I KNEW THIS WAS GOING TO HAPPEN. Additionally, my husband and I had troubling exchange with James via a WhatsApp group he created, where he insisted I couldn’t view MY own property and made rude, borderline racist comments regarding a potential buyer’s surname and how much they would offer. They seemed more focused on their fees than facilitating viewings, even trying to push their mortgage advisor on me when I had my own. Vicki Crean’s management skills are VERY questionable; she broke GDPR by sharing another customer’s name and address with me, claiming we were relatives. It’s outrageous that she disclosed this information without consent. Her request for my CCTV footage regarding unprofessional conduct outside my house was baffling. A different salesman made misleading claims about my kitchen, and they left lights on in my home while I was at work, wasting electricity. I had to chase feedback repeatedly, and around 8-9 bookings were made and then canceled, yet they still used those names in their records. I've sent a formal complaint to Connells and terminated my contract with Allen and Harris Roath due to their numerous breaches of professionalism. Thankfully, I’m now working with a relative in the industry who knows how to do the job right. I would never recommend Allen and Harris, particularly the Roath branch, to anyone. This experience has wasted months of my family's time. The only reason I chose them initially was that I purchased my house through them. I’ve noticed several other houses in “The Hawthorns” have switched to different estate agents—wonder why? Please, no customer service responses; my complaints have already been lodged with Connells, and I’ve taken legal advice. Fortunately for this review due to character limits, I can’t go fully into depth! Awful Awful Brach! Stay away!

Fantastic experience: Friendly, professional and helpful. Very willing to answer stupid first time buyers questions and always ready to help. I also made use of their in house mortgage/insurance services ( aware I could have done this online but I have demanding job) which was also very helpful - particularly as this was all new to me. Negative experience: awful estate Agent, the person showing my property was like “Del boy” (yupi) with no professionalism, the other person dealing with me there was a Leonardo de Caprio lookie likely pretty boy called James, they could talk the talk, but I had no feedback after viewing and had to chase constantly!They left lights on in my property and did not relay the points that mattered. Only really interested in “hot buyers” those that use their service for mortgages and solicitors, so they cherry pick who sees your property, if your prospective buyer has a mortgage in principal and a solicitor they are not interested. I know this as it came to light, that a friend of mine got a viewing after 3 weeks of asking! Despite no one booked into my property to see it, in the meantime it was sold with another estate agent! Whilst waiting. When I went to get my keys back off them, “Delboy” said to me, I recognise your face but can’t place you! He spoke to me previously for over 30 mins!,he then gave me keys back after enlightening him that he was selling my property. I then received another viewing date 2 weeks after telling them it was stc! There is something awful he done to my relative who is with them but at the moment I cannot say! I now understand why they operate like this. Just watch Panoroma bbc2 , Undercover Estate Agent(which was on last night) as Connolls own Allen & Harris, this explains the atrocious way they manipulate buyers and sellers.my name is different from Post due to data security but I can assure you I was a client and a family relative us STILL a client if yours despite one of your staff being totally unprofessional which will be disclosed at a later date!
