Negative experience: Terrible communication — phones constantly ignored, even when staff were clearly in the office. Our house was overpriced with false promises it would sell within four weeks. After two weeks we hadn’t had a single viewing, then were told by someone else that the market was actually very slow. Either incompetence or misleading advice. A formal complaint to the manager was delayed and then ignored. After taking the house off the market, they left their sign outside for weeks and didn’t return our key — we had to bring the sign back ourselves and chase them. Save yourself the hassle and go with m2 they have a dedicated receptionist Linda who is amazing and as of yet she has picked up every single time we have called.
Fantastic experience: December 2025. Yet again James and his team have been amazing. They managed to secure a tenant within days and in a week or so the new tenant had moved in. James and Carys made the whole process totally pain free and have been the absolute best! Thanks James! December 2024. Absolutely fantastic. James was brilliant with finding tenants for our house. He was pro active with showing potential tenants around and kept us informed at all times. When the office was closed because of the Coronavirus virus Nick took over looking after us as he had started working from home. He was amazing he worked all hours in order to secure a tenant for us before the lock down. He succeeded! Thank you so much Nick for being brilliant. We have continued, over the years to use Peter Alan and again and again they have been amazing. This time we had Tiernan, he was just so amazing! Fast, efficient, kept us up to date with everything at all times he worked over and above expectations...he couldn't have been any better. Thank you so much Tiernan ( and Molly) for making the whole process so easy. We will, most definitely, continue to work with Peter Alan for years to come.
Fantastic experience: Recently purchased a property through this team and they were great tbf. Igor was great at the viewing, very helpful and friendly but left us free to wander with no hard sell rubbish, and the team at the shop were always friendly and looked as chuffed as me when I picked up the keys. The real star though was James Sadiq, their in-house (but independent) mortgage advisor. I was admittedly a bit cautious beforehand as I wondered what he could offer that I couldn't find myself online with enough patience and research, but I was wrong. The property was a tricky one as it needs renovation including some structural work. This made it a bit of a pig to mortgage, but James made it happen. Incredibly knowledgeable, helpful and seemed personally invested in the situation with almost immediate replies to my concerns and questions throughout. Lovely bloke too. He seemed as happy as myself when we finally got there. Thanks James and team!

Positive experience: 4 Stars but only because "there's always room for improvement"! Hollie Freeman was our Agent for selling and where do you start; always punctual, always a beautiful smile, treated the property with respect and the viewers (potential buyers) with courtesy. Hollie remembered all the little bits & pieces about the property which allowed her to talk to the viewers and keep their interest. Hollie gave the impression that nothing was too much trouble, even when the sale period went on a bit. Negative experience: Awful experience. Tried selling a house with Peter Alan. Sign didn't go up for a month after listing, then it was not only put right in front of the window,but angled so no one could even see it. On top of that, of the 6 booked viewings, only 3 went ahead. After the last, it became clear no checks were done on anyone that booked a viewing, although we were told they do run a few checks. Of the 3 viewings that went ahead, all seemed quite interested, then we just never received any feedback unless we chased up. Peter Alan supposedly to call up weekly on Wednesday's with an update, however that didn't really happen, ever. Wouldn't recommend,wouldn't use again. Thankfully got out of the contract and we are switching agents.

But despite the challenges we had along the way, the team were determined to get my house sold for me. Fantastic experience: A seamless experience renting out my flat with Peter Alan. The agents, James and Tiernan, have been exceptional, always available by phone and email. Their service stands out compared to other estate agents we've used in the past. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and efficient rental service.
Positive experience: As a tenant you don't get to choose your estate agent, it's choose them or be homeless, right? They're generally fine until the time where you need your deposit returned. The "zero deposit" scheme they push for at the start is a con in my opinion (there's nothing "zero" about it, since you still have to hand a relatively large sum of money over, except you don't get it back). I strongly advise you be proactive towards the end of any tenancy and chase them for the deposit return, otherwise they're going to forget or you'll be at the bottom of the pile, waiting a long time.

Negative experience: Good afternoon, I hereby come to show my dissatisfaction with Peteralan of Newport. They make misleading sales and the information on the website is also misleading. I am attaching proof of the same.We were told from the first day that the property that we are buying was with no chain, in fact on the website we could read "no onwards chain". Today we have the credit approved, , the complete search and we have to wait for 3 sales to have Our house. We didn't even get any kind of apologises from the company or even a explanation from the miss information only a call saying that we have to wait, and that they would no longer speak to me because I told them the truth, that they were liars and deceivers ( and we were the ones who were lying because we were never told any of this! and they with the information on the website ) Is this the service we can expect from Peter Alan? Why buy a house, with everything clear and easy or without lies if we can always count on Peter Alan Newport...surprises and lies from the first to the last minute.

Negative experience: When I first transferred my account to Peter Alan, they were very helpful on sorting out the tennant arrears, there was a very helpful lady Pamela, who was both compassionate with the tennant and efficient, and she communicated personally with me, in a proactive manner, calling me regularly to give me updates. However, when I needed to ask my tennant to leave because I needed to sell the property, Peter Alan were nowhere to be seen, I had to do it all myself, they didn't lift a finger to help, their communication was awful, they were lazy and unhelpful, and the people responsible for helping in the back office all seemed about twenty years old, who seemed uninterested and unknowlegable. If it wasn't for THE NRLA, I'd have been in deep deep trouble, and Peter Alan wouldn't have lifted a finger to help. They were impersonal and unhelpful when I was at my most vulnerable, with cold, unhelpful, disinterested people at all levels of the organisation.
Negative experience: Shocking communication from the Lettings department. They’re quick to let you know about rent increases, but won’t help you sort out any issues that make the property unfit for habitation. This is against the RentSmartWales guidelines and we will be taking this further as they clearly can’t follow specified guidance.
Negative experience: Don’t even bother with this branch, poor communication. Quick to take money but waiting months for £1000s of pounds they now owe me!! To begin with I left my property early to move for a job promotion in Plymouth. I continued to pay rent as agreed and was promised that I would be told soon as someone moved in. I received 0 communication and was forced to chase on multiple occasions and sometimes never received a response from anyone. After finally getting a response on 23/01 to be informed people had moved in 12/01. Shocking I was not told and I had to chase this, if I didn’t chase it would’ve I ever been told? I don’t think I would’ve had and I would’ve continued to over pay my rent. I was then told I was due over £500 in pro rata on 23/01 and to expect 10-14 days. I was then told yesterday this wasn’t actually processed until a week later and I now need to wait a further 6-12 working days. Secondly was never kept up to date with my deposit. People moved in 33 days ago and not so much as a response from the landlord, this is shocking. I’m collectively owed way over £1000. The lack of professionalism, empathy and basic customer service from this branch is unmatched with any other company I have dealt with. The staff are unhelpful, blunt and have at times failed to respond to my requests. STAY CLEAR!!!

Negative experience: I'm afraid that our experience is not at all good. The tenant they installed in my wife's property in Eastfield Mews, Caerleon was very aggressive towards a neighbour and the police had to be called. It then took another 11months before he left and left the property in a very dirty condition. It took a fortnight before a representative of the company inspected the property and deemed it to be be in a poor condition and would require deep cleaning. A further fortnight has passed without any action. Contact with the person responsible for the letting is based in Cardiff and was difficult to contact and did not seem to pay any urgency to our request for action. I ended up calling them and they were really short and said that they actually have put forward my details to the landlord and they’ll contact me once they’ve heard back. (One thing to note is that I hadn’t completed any application form for this property yet?) 2 weeks go by and still haven’t heard from them. Checked online and says it’s been let. Very disappointing.

Negative experience: One star is too high. Quite possibly the worst letting company out there - I have had nothing but problems. Between not letting my tenant know when windows were being changed, to consistently getting my address wrong, to not passing on key information from the tenant, not completing end of tenancy checks (took over a week), telling me there was fleas and refusing to take it out the deposit asking us to pay upfront. They refused to cover loss of income. Incredibly patronising, lots of 'we can only apologise' - yet did nothing about it. Didn't listen and stuck to the party line, and wouldn't do anything off their own backs. I had to do all the chasing up. Spoke to a different person every time. Never answer their phones or listen to their messages. Completely incompetent
Fantastic experience: First class service from first contact with Molly who talked me through the procedure who was very professional, and Kyle who kept me informed as it went on the market which the house sold in the first viewings with Nathan and then Claire who was absolutely fantastic as the buyer was a bit difficult and as a go between kept me informed with all that was happening as I was a ready to pull out a few times and said we will get it over the line Chris trust me and she did. I would recommend them to anyone who asked who sold your house as it was a pleasure to deal with them
Fantastic experience: Bethan was incredible dealing with our first home in Newport with my wife and I and my children. Bethan was relentless with getting the paper work and house ready for us in time with our moving date. Bethan and her team was very friendly and very helpful. Fantastic experience: Just sold my property through the Newport team who were excellent especially Claire who looked after us once the sale was agreed, she was absolutely amazing very helpful and always happy to answer any questions and she gave me more updates on how the sale was progressing than my solicitors!! Fantastic experience: We initially contacted Peter Alan back in January and Phoebe contacted me straight away. We had to postpone our move out date so Phoebe said she’d keep an eye for us. As soon as we were ready, there was a property available and the process was so smooth & fast! Beth & Phoebe were brilliant and very prompt throughout the process. I can’t fault them at all, they both went out of the way to help. We are very happy with the service and the property we’re in! Thank you again :)
Fantastic experience: Recently moved into my first flat with Peter Alan. Bethan was my lettings manager and she was so professional, helpful and polite throughout the entire process. She made what is a very nerve wracking process much easier for me and I am extremely grateful! She even stayed late to enable me to pick up my keys and I can't thank her enough.
