Fantastic experience: June 2019 noone else gave me a chance. All other agencies in Newport told me I can not rent a house with no credit history, on a fixed term contract, being in the country for 2 months only. L&Co was the only agency that gave me chance and made possible for me to have my daughter with me. Everyone was telling me it is impossible and I will need at least 2 years and a permanent contarct and lots of savings. Well I got my forst home keys on 20.08.2019 and my girls landed on 21.08.2019. Since then L&Co are still amazing and this will always be my agency. There is not a single unsolved issue. They react immediately after receiving a request for repair or whatever email with a question or concern. TEAM YOU ALL ARE ALL AMAZING! Negative experience: Shocking customer service. Despite this company taking my money for several years whilst I undertake NGO work abroad their end of tenancy review was appalling. The house was filthy- the garden full of rubbish which was apparently there when the tenants moved in yet mysteriously had black bags of wallpaper the tenants removed- what a magic trick! Their response was a rude email. Carpets had to be replaced, I had to throw away all the curtains and yet apparently the annual inspections were ok. Do not trust your home to these people. They clearly do not care, are rude and unprofessional.

Negative experience: Asked about property. Been sent a form to fill in and return. I did as asked, my Gmail showed that they've read it but no answer. I even said in returning form email please let me know if something is wrong with the form. At least should've sent some response. The properties still listed so it felt like I was just ignored or the agents are so picky...Very unprofessional

Negative experience: Edit as of April 2025: While the overall review is poor, I must start by saying that those in the office have been polite at the start and throughout the tenancy. Unfortunately, Luscombe and Co have tried to charge me for items on check out for issues present prior to moving in/unreasonable costs. For full transparency they have tried to claim £700 from my deposit; £500 of which was for a replacement bath tub for which there was a repairable crack, (accidental damage). The DPS adjudicator agreed that this would be classed as betterment and sided with my proposal of contributing £216 further to a quote received from a specialist. They also tried to claim for various other items totalling to £200; £50 of which was awarded to them and £150 back to me. Therefore, in the eyes of the DPS independent assessor, £265 of £700 was actually a legitimate claim, which, in my opinion is fair and reasonable. It's pointless to say don't use these letting agents if you are a tenant as yoi have very little choice if you like a property, however, please do protect yourself by taking top to bottom pictures of the property as their check in reports are mostly inaccurate and omit obvious damages. If you are a landlord, keep an eye on the way this agent manages your funds. As I mentioned, they incurred the landlord £700 of expenditure when the final payout was actually £265. If you are a tenant and they try to take money from your deposit which you feel is unfair/unreasonable, definitely raise this through the DPS dispute system as they refuse to engage with you directly. As a final point, they will also likely try to raise your rent every 6 months if you are on a 6 month agreement. If on 12 months, they will certainly go for increases annually.

Negative experience: UPDATE my previous review was only written positively because they asked me to write a good review and I was fearful of being evicted for no reason. Very bad letting agency,they always side with shoddy landlords,I use to get spied on by the landlord,they use to turn up and walk in my garden without giving prior notice,when I asked for it to stop they issued me with an eviction notice! They told me over the phone this landlord has always been a problem for them yet they still deal with her! Now they are trying to charge me £350 for a cleaning fee even tho the property was clean and I have picture proof of it. I have provided them with professional cleaning quota that is £100 cheaper than theirs yet they still reject it. I have asked for the cleaning quote as I do not believe they use proper cleaners as the property was filthy when I moved in! The landlord white washes the property in order to cover the damp within the property aswell so be wary. Her name is Sian Roberts and her property is 28 st David’s crescent,avoid this place like the plague as you will be very unhappy there and get no backing from this awful letting agency.

Negative experience: Started off great, became bullies. Was a tenant of luscombe for 6 years, first 5 years they were a pleasure to deal with. As time went on they seemed to be under the impression that decor would survive in the same condition forever. No decoration or upkeep was carried out by them during the 6 year tenancy. As mould and paint damage to wooden window frames began to appear after the fith year they concluded it must be due to lifestyle. Not the wooden framed single paned windows and age of the building, even though this was confirmed by a surveyor. Luscombes recommendation was to leave the heating on constantly and leave the windows open. The poor insulation and inefficient economy 7 heating resulted in very high energy bills for myself and did not address the actual issues causing the mould and damage. It was at this point I was given excessive inspections and threats of notice to be evicted. Resulting in moving myself to end the constant worry of being kicked out of the home I had lived in for 6 years. After moving out, the property was relisted at a rent far higher. This feels like I was bullied out of the home I was living in. At the end of the tenancy luscombe attempted to claim the entire deposit for the mould issues and redecorating the property. Luckily this was rejected by the DPS. Being their own problems and not the problem of the tenant. Good luck to anyone who has to live in that property now. If you end up dealing with this company ensure you contest the deposit claims as they will try to charge you for things that are their responsibility, but Id avoid all together if you can, find a better letting agency.

Fantastic experience: I've been with L&Co for 5.5 years. I sold my own home and moved into a rental. I was greeted with complete professionalism and warmth. During the pandemic, I was ill for a year; my rent was negotiated, without hesitation during that time to ease the financial burden. The ladies I deal with are Lauren and Felicia. Lauren deals with all contracts; there is nothing she doesn't know and always replies straightaway. Negative experience: Not great at their job, my daughter used these and had to jump through hopes and loads of red tap and faffing about, and when she finally got into her rented accommodation it was stinking, it wasn't cleaned by the previous tenants before leaving, I dont think it was cleaned ever, and obviously it wasn't checked by the estate agent. Also the kitchen needs ripping out and replacing because of previous waterleaks. And the toilet has a cheap flimsy plastic cystern that is cracked and comes away from the wall when flushing. If it was my house I would rip it all out and replace it, very disappointed with these agents!!!
