Fantastic experience: Would definitely recommend this estate agency to young professionals as they will give you the respect you deserve. Jude also helped us alot.
Negative experience: I would strongly advise anyone to avoid renting through Foxtons Guildford. My son and other students rented a property managed by this branch, and the experience has been unacceptable from the very beginning. They were due to move in on 20th August, but Foxtons informed us at the last minute that the property was “not ready” and still under maintenance. This caused a delay of almost a month, seriously affecting their university start. When they were finally allowed to move in, the property was uninhabitable: • No gas • No heating • No hot water Despite repeated complaints and several months passing, the property still does not have heating, even during winter when temperatures have dropped to –5°C. This is not only negligent but a serious risk to tenants’ health. Communication from Foxtons has been poor, and there has been no effective action taken to resolve these issues. The lack of urgency, accountability, and basic duty of care shown throughout this tenancy has been extremely distressing. This experience has highlighted a complete failure to meet basic legal and professional standards. I would not recommend Foxtons Guildford to students or families looking for safe, habitable accommodation.
Fantastic experience: Although we have not pushed through application for rent with Foxtons and the landlord (whose flat was lovely and near work place), I should say that Lily and Margot have definitely worked above and beyond to help us find a property to rent. The total experience with them was very professional. They have never failed to give updates like new pricing of our prospected property and new properties near our workplace. They did not try to "sabotage" the other property agency when they knew that we were in contact with them for the flat that we now have had let agreed. I hope you enjoy the holidays!
Positive experience: Les and Giles were very helpful especially in escalating all the paperwork and for a no-chain case we were able to complete the process in eight weeks which was good for us.

Fantastic experience: Exceptional experience with Foxtons over the last few months of buying our first home. Rory Davies in particular, with Giles and Les in support, was excellent. You couldn't really ask for a better service from them. Rory took so much of the headache away for us, explained things clearly, was proactive and efficient, and always available almost instantly on the phone or via WhatsApp. The team also did a great job of liaising between us & the vendors when a few issues mid-sale with the property and with our solicitors cropped up. They made sure these didn't become bigger issues for us or the vendors so that the sale could proceed smoothly. Rory, again, was there answering my phone calls at 6:30pm or my evening WhatsApps as we tried to get it all through. As first-time buyers who were figuring it all out as we went along, Rory & team were there whenever we needed them. After an initial poor start with another local estate agent, we were't sure what to expect. But we're now raving about the Foxtons team to local friends who are thinking of buying soon. Thanks guys for all your help.

Negative experience: Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. I had an appointment booked for 11am and travelled 1.5 hours to get there, yet no one turned up and I wasn’t informed of any cancellation. I was then told the manager had “called in sick” once they realised no one had shown up. No other managers were available either, including one who was meant to be fully booked but also didn’t turn up. Completely unprofessional and a total waste of time.
Fantastic experience: Lily was getting real. Professional and supportive for our move into rented accommodation.

Fantastic experience: I tried very hard to sell the propety this year since sell’s market isn't very positive, I tried different agents. Finally FOXTON Geils and his sales to team with Les help, finally sold out. Very impressive how they keep people to viewing.and finally get someone’s attention and good buyer. Very appreciated !
Negative experience: We’ve tried for 3 months to have an overgrown hedge cut at a neighbouring property managed by Foxtons and it’s been a complete disaster throughout. A string of emails leading nowhere, and a landscaper who was left unable to complete this simple job as he was not given the go-ahead, despite assurances from Alicia that everything was in hand. I’ve also called the office numerous times, and each time people seem either not to know which property I’m referring to, or when they eventually locate it on the file, they say they will get back to me. It’s Groundhog Day. As a landlord myself, I would have sincere reservations about letting such a team manage my property. They’ve proven very unhelpful; slow to reply and often give information that is simply incorrect e.g. telling me the work would be completed then it wasn’t. There’s no excuses for such poor customer service and a complete disregard to both us, their tenants and the landlord. I will be escalating to ombudsman level next, as this has become farcical at best. I’ve tried working with the team but despite multiple assurances, nothing has happened. We cannot be expected to foot the bill, and a degree of kindness and due care wouldn’t go amiss. They’ve apologised already but that is meaningless given the issue remains unresolved.
Fantastic experience: Lilly provided a highly professional & efficient service. Sadly the properties we viewed through Foxtons weren’t suitable but Lilly continued to be extremely supportive.

Fantastic experience: George Rose is true professional in helping us renting a comfortable flat, great service in terms of communication, viewing appointment and follow-up work. Tim Pacey, the Lettings Manager, has been very supportive and responsive by providing confirmation of tenancy documentation and other related information. Thank you to you both for making our rental experience enjoyable.
Negative experience: Completely incompetent. Had issues with both the Guildford team and the lettings support team. The Guildford team showed no respect for the property we were renting or our belongings. We were constantly contacted by multiple agents for viewings all day everyday to then have doors left unlocked to our property and the outside door left wide open whilst we let them have viewings at the property whilst we were away. When we raised this as a complaint, we were issued with a feeble apology where the staff pointed blame at each other. Since moving out (early to accommodate another tenant), we are still owed over £900 rent we overpaid for the month. It is day 23 now and the letting team have informed us they have made errors on the system preventing our money from being released. We were not contacted or informed of this error. We only found this out by waiting and waiting for the money and chasing them over 4 times via call. When they want to get hold of you for their benefit, they hassle and hassle but as soon as you need to contact them, it is an hour out of your day gone. We have been with other estate agents who have made the processes smooth and consistent but it has been an awful experience with foxtons unfortunately.
Negative experience: Not one to write bad reviews, in fact it’s the first bad review I’ve ever done but here goes. Moved out of my flat on the 20th of September, which was planned and agreed with both foxtons and the landlord. It took 12 days to get our deposit back which isn’t the worst but also not great. However we are now 23 days out of the flat and still owed over £950 for the excess rent we paid and leaving early to accommodate other tenants to move in at a preferred date. On top of this we accommodated the letting agents and give them permission to visit the flat when we were away for the week. We come back days after the visit to find the door to the building wide open, and the door to the flat itself not locked. They may as well have sent an open invite for people to come take our belongings.

Negative experience: Just when you think letting agents could not be any worse, and then you encounter Foxtons. I’d heard terrible things about this agent for many years, but had no experience with them myself, until registering a month ago for additional assistance with our property search. When I did, I quickly received an influx of unsuitable properties from numerous agents, matching nowhere near the criteria provided as far as bedroom count, bathroom count, area, and furnished/unfurnished status. Nonetheless, Daniel (Guildford office) praised a property coming available, and I agreed to a viewing. His colleague Abbas was to host the viewing. This Abbas then stood me up and did not contact me or apologise thereafter. I had to ask Daniel what had happened, whose response was insanely casual. Despite this, I continued maintaining contact with Alexandre, who took over after Daniel left his role. Alexandre bombarded my WhatsApp with chats, to which I specified that the preferred contact method was email, and to only contact my personal WhatsApp if I had specifically requested to see a property that way. Everything he sent was unsuitable and did not match the provided spec. He kept calling me at various times throughout the day for weeks, constantly urging me to contact him about this or that property. All the while, everything was unsuitable and did not meet our requirements. I reminded him several times to ensure that anything he sends going forward matches the spec provided, and nothing else. He ignored this and continued to waste my time. At one point, he even issued an email for me to pay and sign for a property I had no interest in, expressed no interest in, and did not match our criteria, calling me to say it was quick and easy to acquire that property and trying to manipulate me into going along with just any property, like I am some naive child or just came down with the last shower! This week, he sent me more WhatsApp messages with a video of a property that resembled something from a 1960s horror film. I told him it was no good. He responded saying goodbye and good luck. I told him I was relieved that he would no longer be in contact, and fed back on his invasive manners, terrible sales tactics and the incessant attempts to meet his targets by palming us off with any property he could find. Good riddance. Reputation is well deserved.
Positive experience: We have just sold our house with Foxtons and we had a very positive experience. They were a little more expensive than other companies but you get what you pay for. We had a lot of viewings and managed to secure a sale. We worked mainly with Phoebe and Giles and they were both tremendously helpful ASAP and always came back to us if we couldn't get through. They gave us so much helpful advice exactly at the time we needed it.

We dealt with Lily primarily as a letting agent who was very helpful, organised and proactive in offering us potential properties within our criteria. Lily was on time for bookings, flexible when needed and her communication throughout was great, very professional and polite without being pushy. An asset to this branch.

After months I am still chasing for the discounts offered, and Foxtons can deduct any amount without your consent from your rental income anytime during the term. Truly disappointed and would never engage with Foxtons in the future.

Fantastic experience: Craig and his colleague Rory were notably helpful, sharp on the ball, professional, business-like and proactive, flexible keen to arrange a viewing for me at speed and a time to suit me. This has sadly become extremely rare with estate agents 2020s England my extended house hunt has found. (As many others must have done so too found . .. And it becomes pretty unpleasant at times, with many estate agents, all smiles on initial contact , e.g. But then what does one get by way of kind and proper service They need to freshly prove themselves in England one thinks as being proper and up to the mark line of business. Regulation???) However the way found after some initial awkwardness on approaching via one or two, who as many can't seem to stick with it well -, at Foxtons, was that then, true team way !: It seems like Craig and Rory for the team Foxtons at Guildford are endeavouring to keep up the true tradition ways standards of kindness, true keen respect to buyers and putting keen effort in and keeping sharp on the ball, trying to find a viewing time at speed to keep the potential buyer keenly interested in good properties on their books.....they are seeking to keep. If any of the rest of the staff are not keen to pull their weight then ask to speak to Craig or another, who shows that the Company does care and as he stepped in for me and my major keenness for a property and a viewing. Foxtons, as a result of firstly Craig's attidude and way and then his colleague Rory showing flexible fine team work, means that Foxtons and at Guildford more so, is an estate agents I personally would check out in any times ahead when I am looking for a house but, and as step one looking for a new house home in the area theirs Surrey etc . It means a lot in the very stressful indeed matter of buying a house home to find estate agents staff with such an, - far too rare (suddenly?) become -, attidude and actions of a get-on no fuss business like by pleasant and able to listen nature, as firstly Craig (team manager ?) and then Rory also showed for an excellent non-pressed caring simple sociable viewing. Fantastic experience: I don't think I can write a review good enough to describe how fantastic Foxtons' service was. My family had only a few days to find housing and Daniel's help throughout this incredibly stressful period meant the world to us. He responded to my initial inquiry about properties in the area. He was compassionate about our very difficult situation and very quickly made a plan to help us. Because of the short time frame he offered to show me all the available/suitable properties - the next day! It was very clear he had really considered our position and wanted to help. In the rental industry it is very difficult to know who to trust, but I would absolutely recommend Daniel and Foxtons . Not only did he find us four properties that would have been suitable. He helped us to make an offer and was clear and transparent about all the processes and very knowledgeable above the area and the legal intricacies of renting in the UK. So wow, what a legend and you know what, when I backed out of the property at the last minute (after he had organised and explained everything and loaded with landlords - Friday evening after work he and his manager Phoebe were still trying to help us) - after all that he was still incredibly compassionate, sympathetic and helpful. I never write reviews but I think the renting process is awful at the best of times and Daniel went above and beyond to help us. Fantastic experience: I have met Daniel Berber when I was looking for a place to rent. I’ve been here in the UK for 3months and it’s quite hard to search and look for house to rent. Of all the agents I’ve met, he’s the only one I’ve given a google review. This is because he is the BEST! He was incredibly communicative! Very warm and approachable. He will answer calls and emails and will keep you informed about the development/ progress. I would definitely recommend him and will not hesitate to come back to him in case I need to search for properties to rent again. He is amazing! He also provided support beyond just the transaction/negotiation. His genuine care is within him and he is simply the best. Negative experience: Foxtons Review 0 Stars is not an option but for Foxtons they should make an exception. This is one of the worst companies I've ever had to deal with. Every person we've had to deal with came across as ignorant, lazy, or incompetent. They let an uninhabitable property without doing a proper inspection or going on site themselves. They claim they did but... When we got there, the flat hadn't been thoroughly cleaned, the hot water does not work, there is almost no water pressure, the smoke detector was not functional, the kitchen curtains are a fire hazard, there is mold in the flat, the shower doesn't work, and the toilet had been replaced but improperly installed. None of this matched the pictures posted by Foxton's website and was completely misrepresented. They also use underhanded and high pressure tactics to try and close the deal and did not explain our rights and options for a contract. They care purely about volume of customers not about quality of listings or level of service they provide after a deal. They will not respond to emails or phone you back. You will have to repeatedly call just to get through, only to have them fob you off with some excuse or pass you on to someone else. We've had contact with at least 7 people on their side and exactly one of them did what they said they would do. From a dedicated maintenance "professional" who doesn't know how to schedule and does not follow up to ensure the job was completed to a senior property manager that I wouldn't trust to oversee a dollhouse who constantly "delegates" but doesn't take accountability or follow up when there has been no reply for days from their representative, anyone we dealt with was a complete nightmare. When I read articles like "Foxtons has come under fire after a couple found their estate agent had signed them up to lease the wrong property" or "Foxtons charged us £4,000 to find totally unsuitable tenants", I can only think to myself; that sounds like them. If you are forced to deal with them, God help you, since nobody from Foxtons will.
Negative experience: If I could give this company zero stars I would. I was looking for a place to live from abroad and regrettably chose Foxtons to aid in my quest to find a place to live prior to starting University in September. The place I moved into was not as advertised, with the pictures clearly taken when the property was in much better shape. Upon arrival the place clearly had not been professionally cleaned with dirt and grime throughout. There were cobwebs in the windows, and mold in the bathroom. The hot water and shower was non-functional - something that I raised with Foxtons immediately. Thus began 30 days of trying to get Foxtons to rectify the situation. Two plumbers came through the property with the second one declaring that the water pressure was abysmal and that it would be substantial work and costs in order to rectify the situation. The landlord refused to fix the problem and essentially Foxton's response to the ongoing concerns were: you signed the contract and that's how it's always been (state of the property). Ross Henderson was the original realtor I was working with who pushed me to sign the lease on a property that I had not seen in person. He took advantage of my lack of knowledge of the area, and pushed me to offer above the asking price and for a longer term - making it seem that if I didn't I would "lose out" and not find a place to live by the time I arrived in the UK. Hidaya, the property manger's competency leaves much to be desired. She continued to fail in her role to rectify any of the problems I raised, while often ignoring my calls and emails, and simply stating that "the landlord refused to fix the water issues", passing the blame and trying to separate herself from her obligation to actually do something constructive. Thankfully I was able to leave the property after a miserable month, and was told multiple times that I would receive my deposit back given the situation and that I had been living at the property for less than 30 days. However, the landlord now refuses to give my deposit back which is illegal, and Foxtons has the audacity to charge me for a breach of contract on a property without functional hot water and a shower! Overall, Foxtons employs and promotes devious behaviour, relying on deception, pressure, and falsehoods when conducting their business while only caring about making money and taking advantage of clients who may not know their rights as tenants.

Fantastic experience: Couldn't be happier with the excellent and beyond duty attention received from Margot as we presented a specially challenging situation to her. We went to Guildford for only 6 months and needed a short term rental that also could accept our temporary status as 'tourists' - me and my wife are from Brazil and had to come back after this period, so finding a place that could check all our requirements was really difficult. And we had to do that remotely from our country (I've never set foot in England before). But Miss Margot not only was incredibly supportive and friendly, but extremely helpful, negotiating with the landlords and keeping ing us informed in all the process, making us to understand all the local requirements. She even made a live view broadcast to show us the properties that we liked the most. And, I must emphasize that we have tried several other state agencies in the Surrey area but most were totally dismissive when we presented our challenges. We even managed to make friends with another couple that Margot helped in last year, that were in a situation just like ours, thanks to her. Reading other reviews from Foxton's, it seems that most people get a very good service from them, but what we've got from Miss Margot was nothing short of exceptional.
Negative experience: Experience as a potential house seller. Foxtons charge way more in fees compared to any other estate agent (2.5% final value, compared with 1% at this current time). They justify this by explaining they convince people who are either international or from a more expensive area, to pay over the odds for it! They use "hard sell" tactics to do this, they don't take no for an answer, even if you are using another agent to sell, and have a good offer with them! I imagine any buyer who falls for their blagging, will either realise quite soon that they are paying too much by comparing online very easily. Or they will convince the seller to lower the price because of market conditions etc, to what other agents value it as, then charge you the higher fee! Buyers beware! If you are paying the asking price from these guys, it is way higher than the market price! They openly admit they do this. Sellers, you are unlikely to get their estimate, and even if you do I can't imagine many buyers stay to completion when they can so easily compare. They purposefully do not put many pictures or much info up about each property, they want to blag and persuade you rather than give you info, which you may look at then decide you don't like!
Negative experience: Unjustifiable Rent Increase Throughout my five-year tenancy, my adherence to the agreed rent of £1,350 was met with a stark disregard from Foxtons. Their proposal to escalate the rent to £2,200—a staggering increase of nearly 63%—appeared as nothing short of greed. This demand was made without any corresponding enhancement in property management or maintenance, presenting as a blatant attempt to exploit the housing market at my expense. Failure to Conduct Maintenance and Repairs The persistent neglect by Foxtons to address essential repairs and upkeep has been a continuous source of distress. Despite their receipt of management fees, their actions—or rather, the lack thereof—significantly contradicted any commitment to maintaining the property. This disregard ranged from minor fixes to critical maintenance issues, with responses being unacceptably slow or completely absent, exacerbating the property's decline. Electrical Safety Neglected The neglect towards the property's electrical safety was shockingly underscored when my son suffered a serious electric shock, resulting from unresolved electrical faults. The response to this alarming incident was grossly inadequate, with more than a week elapsing before an electrician was dispatched. This event was but one example of a broader issue of neglected electrical maintenance, including the malfunctioning radiators and a dangerously faulty hot water control system that remained unaddressed even after an NICEIC inspection. Such oversight not only imperilled our lives but also displayed a disturbing disregard for tenant safety and comfort. Inefficient Heating System The property's heating system was profoundly inefficient, further aggravated by Foxtons' failure to replace or adequately repair the radiators that were nearly the cause of a fire. Surviving cold winters without sufficient heating, compounded by Foxtons' apathy towards resolving this issue, significantly impaired our living conditions and underscored their lack of concern for tenant welfare. Unqualified Property Managers The capability of the 'property managers' at Foxtons was consistently questionable. Their evident lack of qualifications and experience became apparent in their mishandling of various property issues, from routine maintenance to urgent safety concerns. This deficiency not only compromised effective property management but also raised serious questions about Foxtons' hiring and training practices. Dishonesty and Deposit Return Issues The level of dishonesty consistently exhibited by Foxtons, particularly by the property manager Brandon Amechi, has been distressingly pervasive. The saga concerning the return of my deposit is illustrative, marked by repeated falsehoods and evasions regarding the deposit's status. This conduct was not isolated to this issue but was indicative of a pattern of deceit and misinformation that characterised much of my dealings with Foxtons. Caution to Prospective Tenants and Landlords The accumulation of issues encountered during my tenancy—from unsafe living conditions and maintenance neglect to outright deceit—illustrates a worrying picture of Foxtons' operational ethics. Prospective tenants and landlords should take heed of these significant concerns. The property at 15 St Margarets London Road, Guildford, GU1 1TJ, serves as a stark example of what tenants may face: inadequate heating, a hazardous electrical setup, and a lack of responsibility from both the letting agent and the landlord. Conclusion The decision to rent or let a property through an agent demands careful consideration, guided by both favourable and unfavourable experiences. Regrettably, my time with Foxtons in Guildford, particularly under the management of Brandon Amechi and the ownership of Jocelyne Prudence, was characterised by a series of preventable and distressing problems. This review serves as a word of caution, urging thorough scrutiny and exploration of alternatives before committing to a partnership with Foxtons

Negative experience: I do not appreciate my family being hounded and talked down to over the telephone after we sold our house, twice in one day. We didn't use Foxtons as our agent! However they still felt the need to contact us as our house breifly went back on the market but sold again. Be very wary of getting your house valued by them as they keep tabs on you if you go with another agent and can't wait to belittle and your choice of estate agent and selling price. My advice to Foxtons and Craig is to focus on your own clients instead of spying on us, we are not even your clients! So glad we went with Chantries and Pewleys.

Negative experience: The negative reviews are true - avoid this agency at all costs. I’m genuinely disappointed as in the beginning all of the agents were absolutely lovely and it seemed like they actually care about you, but their behaviour throughout the ordeal proves otherwise. All they care about is your money! My partner and I were looking to rent a property and the one we wanted to view was being arranged by Foxtons. This is when the continuous phone calls started. We didn’t think anything of it and arranged a viewing. Once a viewing was arranged I was phoned by Foxtons multiple times a day, each time leaving voice mails, specifically at 9AM when I had told them several times I was working and wouldn’t be able to pick up the phone; that didn’t stop them. They showed us three properties, all out of our budget and none of which included the one we actually wanted to view. We finally decided on a property and the phone calls doubled, as well as CONTINUOUS texting from the letting agency hammering me 24/7 about things they needed me to do. I was given a list of things to do, which I did and was told I didn’t need to do anything more; until the next day when a new list would be sent and that cycle repeated for two weeks straight. I had a problem with the tenancy agreement and asked for a clause to be taken out - no issue there it was taken out and I was ready to sign. Then I saw our property listed by a DIFFERENT letting agency staring that the water bill was included with the rent - FOXTONS NEVER MENTIONED THIS, I had to find that out myself! So the tenancy agreement was re-written a second time and we signed once more. My partner and I then went on holiday and we’re told we didn’t need to do anything more within the renting process- by this time I had sent over £3200 to Foxtons and was under the assumption I would be left alone while the landlord sorted things on his end. NOPE! 7 voice mails and tens of texts throughout the holiday. More continuous phone calls and texts saying I needed to complete tasks I had already done , and that I needed to sign the tenancy agreement once more. This was due to the landlord “forgetting to add his wife to the tenancy agreement” which was ridiculous in itself but fine, I’ll sign again. However this time I asked our particular agent if anything else had been added to the tenancy agreement and I was assured nothing more had been added, only the landlord’s wife’s name. However with further reading that particular clause I had ask to be removed had been added back in! Said clause was such a red flag my partner and I received legal advice due to how open ended and vulnerable that clause would’ve made us. This entire branch is so unbelievably unorganised, with multiple agents calling and texting me several times a day all asking me to do the same tasks, not telling eachother what has been done, genuinely bombarding myself and my mother (our guarantor) with phone calls specifically during hours they knew we weren’t available, and they never take accountability for their actions. Instead of admitting they were at fault with the new tenancy agreement they blamed their systems and “unexperienced staff” referring to their own agents as “over enthusiastic puppies” (a direct quote from the manager) when at the end of the day they should know with confidence what legal documents they’re sending out. I have dealt with several letting agencies both in Australia and the UK and I have NEVER experienced such a money hungry, chaotic and disrespectful company in my life. They pitch amazing properties with perfect landlords when at the end of the day they’ll just keep you in the dark, lie to you and harass you. They look at young couples like we’re idiots and we’re genuinely shocked when we rebutted clauses in the tenancy. Do not engage with this business!

Contracts signed, help with gas certificate, inventory/check-in report, extra keys, all on top of the referencing, contracts, etc. Bradley Golshahi was like a wizard getting everything sorted and we're very grateful!
Negative experience: Very disappointed for the Foxtons service, i have paid full management to Foxtons for my property and have a sewage blockage problem since December 2022 but sorted the problem at August 2023, which I have already paid over £8500 for the job. I am haven’t received any rent from June until now, i have contacted to the Guildford branch Eleanor Reeve who is in charge my complaint and she is promised to sort out this matter as soon as possible but I am didn’t get response since 26th September 2023 until now.
Negative experience: Would like to give -5 stars if have this option. Never go to Foxtons, especially you want to rent a property, be very careful with these scammers. There have NO SERVICE after they got your money (I paid over 12 months upfront) no one will reply your email and they will push you to let others to view the property when your contract nearly end. They don't care about your situation at all, even you've told them you are busying on packing and work. Keep calling when you are in the meeting or at work. They just concern when other potential buyer can come and view! I've try to email their manager but no one will care at all. Maybe the agent are allow to be that rude. Foxtons is the best player to push the tenant to the corner! I've use the cleaning company which recommended by Foxtons before I move out (paid via MyFoxton), plus I've cleaned the property once before the cleaning company come. Hope can make sure to return a nice property to the landlord. Funny is the landlord want to deduct my deposit because of the Cleanliness issue. When I ask for help, Foxtons didn't care about that! I would say they would definitely provide GOOD SERVICE to who pay them commission. If you are a landlord, maybe you will get a better service. Now I own my property and I bought it through Cavender Guildford. I will NEVER GO TO FOXTONS in the future and already asked my friends do not be the next victim. After initial contact with 4 Estate Agents in the area, pre appointment I didn't anticipate Foxtons to be my first choice but wow was I wrong! Negative experience: This agency managed to use my life situation as a means to offload a property in bad conditions. I found myself without any opportunity to physically inspect the property beforehand. To make matters worse, when I asked for more detailed information, their response was disappointing. They only provided a few old, tiny photos that didn’t really show what the property was like. Despite my persistent requests for a video tour, the agency exhibited a shocking level of indifference, as if the deal had already been sealed and there was no reason whatsoever to put in additional effort. It is more than disappointing that they believed their responsibilities were done as soon as the contract was signed, not caring about keeping customers satisfied. When I finally moved in, the property was filled with old, broken furniture and trash, showing how neglected it was. The kitchen was covered in old grease stains and the bathroom had mold. One of the rooms smelled strongly of smoke, indicating a lack of cleaning and upkeep in the past. The problems didn’t stop as I looked around the property: handles were broken or on the verge of breaking, the windows had gaps, and some couldn’t be opened. It is hard not to wonder why the agency didn’t bother to check and fix these obvious issues before I moved in. As if it wasn’t enough, a series of issues popped up one after another: - The toilet started leaking. - The house’s heating system didn’t work because it was broken. I complained with the agency and they sent some engineers, who came and provided a detailed report explaining the need of changing the whole system. Strangely, after that, everything just came to a standstill. It has been a month or two and nothing has been fixed yet. I have been really patient and I have considered that the agency might be busy. However, it has become extremely exhausting to keep sending emails, only to get a vague reply like “we are tracking it”, without any real progress. Given the current situation with the broken heating system and windows, I can’t imagine how it will be to live in the apartment in winter. However, they don’t seem to care about it.
