Unlike other estate agencies I’ve encountered, Gascoigne Pees Lettings provided proper support, not just empty promises or radio silence. I contacted almost every estate agency in the Guildford area, and they completely disregarded their customers. It’s surprising how many unprofessional people work in the UK real estate industry. In contrast, Gascoigne Pees Lettings was a completely different experience. They were with me every step of the way until I found the property. They sent me numerous emails with detailed presentations of the properties they received throughout the month.

Negative experience: I’m currently in the process of buying a property listed with Gascoigne-Pees (Guildford branch), and had a deeply upsetting experience with their branch manager, Molly Wren, on 10 July 2025. During a phone call, Molly shouted at me and aggressively demanded details of my solicitor without clearly explaining the reason for the request. I found her behaviour to be completely unprofessional — rushed, pushy, and lacking in basic courtesy. I’ve never been spoken to like that by any professional before. I expected a constructive and respectful conversation, especially given the importance of this transaction. Instead, I was left feeling pressured, confused, and extremely uncomfortable. I would appreciate being contacted by senior management to explain how this situation is being handled internally and what steps are taken within the company to address behaviour of this kind.

Martin has gone beyond and above to accommodate me and get viewings arranged on my convenience. I live in London and with full time job and other commitments, it has not been easy for me to travel for viewings, but Martin had always tried his best and manged to get me in. In my experience it has not been as good with other agencies as many are not flexible and do not try to help people but stick to their slots and do not want to come back if they had already been to the house with someone else earlier. Negative experience: Moving from abroad and having my own real estate company I expected more from GP. Communication was poor from the get go. The specific agent was about as flexible as a tree stump and she seldomly responds to emails or even WhatsApp messages since it’s difficult to call UK from abroad. Hopefully GP changes their processes to make it easier for people moving from abroad to contact the agents and the agents themselves make the process seemless . It’s just a pity GP will manage my lease for this period. Only gave 2 starts because the outsourced process such as inventory and vetting was reasonable.

Negative experience: Our experience with Gascoigne Pees has been an absolute nightmare, and I feel compelled to share this cautionary tale. After viewing a 2-bedroom flat in Guildford on October 26, we secured the property with a deposit, only to endure over two months of unimaginable frustration. During the viewing, we pointed out a concerning yellow spot on the main bedroom wall, and the agents (Jade Herring) promised to fix it before our move on December 11. However, just a day before our move, we received an email about a ceiling leak issue – a problem they were addressing at 6 pm the day before our move! The check-in revealed a severe leak, no heating, no light and despite our countless calls and emails, the agency left us in the dark. After a month of uninhabitable living conditions in the largest room, it took a second roof repair to finally resolve the issue. Now, as per our contract, we've sought a 50% rent reduction for the month when the room was uninhabitable. Despite numerous attempts to communicate this, the agency continues to ignore our pleas. In short, Gascoigne Pees has been the worst experience. Incompetence, lack of communication, and failure to address our concerns have left us beyond frustrated. I hope others think twice before considering this agency.

All the process from property viewing to moving in was supported with wonderful team.
