Fantastic experience: I found Taylors a welcoming, patient and responsive Company. They were courteous, engaging and gave me several possible options for properties in the Cardiff area. They weren't pushy in finding me a flat that I wasn't completely happy with and I felt if I wasn't totally convinced on what I was suggested I could easily tell them so and that was a big plus for me. Thankfully, I now have a property to rent now however, I would definitely recommend Taylors in future to anyone with my experience in terms of looking for properties.

Negative experience: Despite taking a fee every month and being promised that my beautiful apartment would be looked after - it was outside my comprehension that a property could be so damaged by a tenant and a management company mismanaging the entire process. After month one, the rent was never fully paid, or at best, very late. I had to get involved to ask Taylors to pursue this (seems as long as a tenant pays a 'bit' it is not considered unpaid). I also had to chase Taylors to ensure the tenant moved out at the end of the tenancy but was told 'we cannot make them hand over the keys.' The tenant stayed an extra 2 nights. The damage to the property was extensive - a bed broken in half, radiators ripped off walls, holes in walls etc and there was drug paraphernalia and cigarette butts everywhere, despite the property being a no-smoke property. Taylors had not picked any of this up during site visits. I had to file a dispute as the tenant was chasing the deposit - this took a significant amount of time and the onus was on me to prove the damage (easily done with photos). During this time, Taylors were regrouping and not accepting any liability for mis-management, neither did they support me during this challenging time. The deposit did not come close to covering the repairs or replacing damaged items. The team are all lovely people but I didn't pay a fee each month for nice people but for a professional organisation to manage my property for me at a fee. This did not happen. Based on my experience and how much this cost me financially and emotionally, I would never recommend Taylors.

Negative experience: In 20 years of buying and selling property, this is the least professional estate agent I’ve ever dealt with. I went with Taylor’s based on google reviews, but regretted it almost immediately. On the strong recommendation of “branch manager” Sian I initially listed the flat as a “modern auction”, which I soon discovered is basically a scam to allow estate agents and auction companies to sell property quickly at greatly reduced value. I was offered 25% less than listing price, which I was then pressured to accept. I obviously declined. I then (foolishly) gave Taylor’s a second chance and re-listed the property in the normal fashion, and eventually accepted an offer. At this point I assumed the sale would be straightforward, but Sian and co had other ideas. Things as simple as sending paperwork to solicitors became an uphill battle; at one point, legal documents for the buyer were sent to my solicitor, and vice versa. This took Sian 2 weeks to rectify, while refusing to take or return my calls, or accept responsibility for the extremely unprofessional mistake. I was consistently ignored and fobbed off. Sian also takes more annual leave than anyone I’ve ever heard of, and leaves her colleagues with no information about what’s happening. So I simply had to wait for her to return, when she proceeded to ignore my requests for information and accountability. Communication continued to be laughably bad throughout the sales process, and the terms of the sale were even changed without my consent. When the sale finally went through, months after the agreed date (due in large part Taylor’s ineptitude) the final insult was additional fees hidden in the small print of the paperwork. Despite signing up to a “fixed price” sales agreement, I was charged more than £100 on top for an ID check. Estate agents are legally required to do this check, however, reputable agents either do this for free or charge a maximum of £20. At Taylor’s, this is £120 + VAT. Truly the actions of a sleazy , money grabbing corporation. Which is in keeping with my entire experience of this company.

Fantastic experience: I’m grateful to the Cardiff Bay team (including Spencer & Harriet) for making my relocation from London to Cardiff so stress free. Everyone I spoke to in the office was polite & helpful, and in all my years of renting I’ve never dealt with such an organised agency. The check-in process has been administered brilliantly and I’m delighted with my new flat! As I’m planning to buy my own place in the next few years, I spoke to Cerys (the Countrywide Mortgage advisor based in the office) who talked me through the mortgage process & answered the (many!) questions I had about it. Negative experience: Absolutely the worst. They did nothing for me, the landlord, when tenants destroyed my property and let the issues go on for months leaving me to constantly deal with everything - then why was I paying Taylor’s estate agents a feee for full management? They are dishonest and do not care about damage to the property or the landlord/ landlady. Avoid at all costs.

Fantastic experience: If there were six stars.... Georgie at Taylors would most certainly receive them. She somehow (to her credit) manages to combine encyclopaedic property knowledge, the efficiency of a Swiss watch, and the diplomacy of a UN negotiator all while keeping things friendly and human. Ask for Georgie people :) T

Negative experience: Our experience with Taylor’s Sales and Letting Agents has been unacceptable. The apartment they provided was not in a habitable condition, and despite repeatedly raising our concerns, the issues were ignored and left unresolved. To make matters worse, a colleague named Harriett was extremely unprofessional and dismissive when we sought help. Instead of addressing the problems, she showed little regard for our situation and treated our genuine concerns with rudeness and disregard. On top of that a colleague member had to apologise for the rudeness she displayed in our call. We expected a basic standard of care and professionalism, but this agency has failed on every front. We cannot recommend their services to anyone looking for a reliable and responsible letting agent.

Negative experience: Without a doubt the worst company I have had to deal with. Stay clear! The issues with the agency started from the 1st day of my tenancy as I went to the office to pick up the keys and they were very surprised to see me as they had forgotten all about arranged date for the specific property. They tried to push me to collect the keys in a day or 2 which is bizarre as I had a van booked to move my furniture which would've meant me losing money as well as time with zero compensation offered. After talking to them they did get someone to clean the flat in a rush and do an inventory report which was fine as we were able to grab the keys towards the end of the day. But then then incompetence continued sadly as the flat was fully furnished when we opened it even though it was advertised as unfurnished and we double checked with the agent when viewing it if all the furniture will be removed before us moving in which she confirmed. We then had to wait a few days for a collection to be arranged which happened but they didn't collect all the furniture and we had to wait a few more days for a second collection. Needless to say we couldn't move all of our stuff because there was not enough space since the agency screwed up massively and we had to wait more than a week until we picked up the keys for the property to be at the state in which it should have been to begin with. This all was without any compensation on their part by the way. The tenancy itself was fairly okay mostly because we didn't have any major issues although there was a period where the lights in the hallway didn't work and the agency couldn't reach the landlord for months so that the issue could be fixed. And then to top it off now after leaving the property I have to deal with their deposits department which is equally incompetent as we cleaned the property to a good standard and they've charged us £325 for the end of tenancy clean. - Unfurnished - Wooden floors - 60 sq meters - Only tricky parts to clean were fridge and oven and both we and the inventory inspector took photos that prove the cleanliness was good. They have no itemised invoice to show why the cost is that high and the company they use has no before/after images. Oh, and we send them quotes from 3 different companies in Cardiff that were between £90-175 for the same price. 2 years ago our previous agency charged us £90 for a 2 bed that had carpet floors and was fully furnished with 2 beds, desks and sofas so even accounted for inflation their price is extortionate. Now apparently because they have this all powerful invoice there's nothing they can do about it but I'm more than happy to take them to small claims court as this is ridiculous. Final thoughts - stay as far away as possible

Negative experience: Everything was going well until we returned the property. Three weeks after we left, the agency carried out a "professional" inspection, exaggerating everything. It looks like they were desperate to take money from our deposit in one way or another. Despite leaving the property in better condition than when we moved in, we were charged £250 for cleaning dust accumulated above the sockets. After almost a year, I am still waiting for the receipt. The company holding the deposit only sent an invoice and tried to trick me into thinking it was the receipt. Guys you could have just offered the cleaning service and I would have paid for it, I don't understand why you needed to mount such a scene.
