Negative experience: I am extremely disappointed with the way my property management company handled a serious and urgent issue. My boiler broke down on Thursday night, leaving the property without heating and hot water. I have a 14-month-old child, and despite reporting the issue promptly and chasing repeatedly, no action was taken for several days. I was repeatedly told that repairs could not proceed because the landlord was “not responding”, which is not acceptable for an essential repair. I was later informed that an engineer would be attending on Monday, only to then be told that this was not true and that no engineer had actually been booked. During the entire period, no temporary heating, clear timescales, or meaningful support was offered. The lack of urgency, poor communication, and misleading information caused significant stress and disruption. This situation was handled very poorly and fell far below what I would expect from a professional property management company, particularly where a young child is involved.

Fantastic experience: From Francesca taking the photos initially and Lucy showing prospective buyers round our house everything was dealt with efficiently and with professionalism. A special shout out to Ella who had to deal with a particular tricky situation and she kept us in the loop at all times! I would definitely recommend Haybrooks at Hillsborough.

Negative experience: Extremely poor communication and deposit not returned I moved out of the property I rented through this agency on 14 August 2025, and it has now been over a month. I have contacted them three times about my deposit, but have received no clear response or resolution. Their lack of communication and failure to return the deposit within the legally required timeframe is completely unprofessional. Tenants deserve better treatment and transparency. Very disappointing experience — I would not recommend this agency to others.

Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend Haybrook Hillsborough. Within 48 hours of being listed, I had several offers and my house sold for over asking price. Viewings were arranged extremely quickly and Haybrook dealt with all of the viewings so that disruption was minimised for me. Haybrook were brilliant in terms of their communication - I was kept updated throughout and they were really helpful in terms of chasing up the conveyancing process. The whole process took just 9 weeks to complete from accepting the offer. Ella was absolutely fantastic and was in touch with weekly phone calls to keep me updated - she was really proactive, lovely to speak to and responded quickly to any queries I had. I would definitely use Haybrook again in the future!

Negative experience: Reviewing at 1 star for this misleading piece of junk mail claiming to have a buyer interested in my house that is currently up for sale. A couple of minutes on the phone with the Hillsborough office revealed this not to be true and just an attempt to come and value my house with a view to taking over from my current agent.

Fantastic experience: Having dealt with numerous estate agents over the past few weeks in my search for a house, Ella from Haybook has been head and shoulders above the rest. She took the time to ask me lots of questions about what I was looking for and suggested properties for me to view (something the other estate agents did not do). She followed up promptly on everything she said she was going to do which is rare these days and she was friendly and professional throughout.

Fantastic experience: Yvonne came promptly and did the valuation; she took the pictures on a Friday. The property looked great and it was for sale on line by Saturday. Fantastic experience: We've had such a great experience using Haybrook to sell our house. Linda came to value our house, took photos and a video for social media all on the same day and had everything up on Rightmove within 48 hours. Our house then sold in a week to a cash buyer and the whole negotiation process was managed better than we could have asked. Fantastic experience: We are moving to Sheffield to buy a house to be near our daughter. We have not moved for forty seven years so were a bit anxious. We went to several estate agents and then met Joanne Calvert who was by far the most helpful. friendly and reassuring. She showed us round properties at our convenience and was happy to arrange a second visit. When we decided on a property she negotiated a price with the owner very professionally, Helen Dyson has been most helpful in regularly contacting our agent and solicitor in Runcorn and keeping us updated. Sue has been lovely and has really taken the time to ask how we have been doing with our house search we felt like we had known her for years. Dan, the independant mortgage advisor has also been amazing so far with excellent communication and knowledge. Fantastic experience: Brilliant estate agent and really easy to get on with. We moved very quickly, from deciding we were ready to buy, viewing and then to putting an offer in on a property within the space of a week, we had tried viewings with a couple of different Sheffield estate agents and none were quicker to respond or as helpful in the viewing process. Offer went in and within hours we were informed we had been successful. All normal stuff. However, it’s after the offer had been accepted that Haybrook and in particular Helen really shined. Helen did everything in her power to keep us up to date – sometimes multiple times a day. She explained everything clearly and concisely and every time we put the phone down we felt we were understood and moving forward. She was also more than happy to chase our solicitor, the vendors solicitor and the vendor. When we felt like we were lost and waiting for a response or an update, Helen would be on the phone to us having sorted the issue and ready to get the ext step under way. Would massively recommend Haybrook Hillsbrough based on Helen alone. When we move again, they will be our first call.

Fantastic experience: I contacted Haybrook Hillsborough Branch in June 2019 as I had the unenviable task of trying to convince my parents to downsize after 52 years at the same address! Linda came to visit my parents and immediately picked up the barriers I was struggling with and very carefully managed to convince them, that it wasn't an impossible move and that people would be there to help them. Linda even took it upon herself to delivery flyers to addresses in the area to houses that met my parents very specific criteria! In September they took the step to market and have an open house event, which took the pressure off my parents to do viewings. From here Jo took over and kept me updated as I requested with viewings book and background information. Unfortunately the open day was on the wettest day of the year and many roads were closed due to flooding, but Jo made her way through and successfully held the event. We were updated with offers from the Monday morning onwards and all potential buyers were informed again as requested that my parents still needed to find somewhere and should not be rushed. We had to have further viewing due the weather and the office staff all worked together to ensure minimum disruption to my parents. Sue and Helen also put themselves out to accommodate viewings. My father became ill during November and I spoke to Mandy who immediately agreed to stop further viewing and inform all concerned that things would go on hold until the new year. As promised this happen and things move ahead again in the new year, with a sale negotiated & agreed and a purchase agreed. We decided to use Haybrook Legal Team as we were advised that the branch could help process all the paperwork, which they did. Jo staying late to complete and send off the necessary paperwork. The sale/purchase is not complete yet but as for the service so far, it is second to none, taking the pressure off me, even when it was to let off some steam when my parents were being a little awkward! Yes I would highly recommend and hope this review helps.
