Negative experience: Stay well away if renting. We pay our rent every month with no fail and on Wednesday the property had an infection of bugs; I have had to move out of the property and have been trying to speak to someone.... no one returns calls and no one is interested - I am now living in my car and have cancelled my direct debit!

Negative experience: If you are looking for extremely poor customer service, Ewemove definitely meets your expectations. Over the course of three years, I faced serious and ongoing issues, including major leaks, broken appliances, faulty windows, and excessive delays in repairs — some of which remained unresolved for an unreasonably long time. For example, you might not believe it, but the window was broken. I sent multiple emails, they came to inspect it, even took measurements, and yet after three years, when we left the property, the window was still broken. Communication was consistently unreliable. Emails and calls were frequently ignored, and once rent was paid, tenant concerns did not appear to be a priority. I was also repeatedly given conflicting and misleading information about whether and how the landlord had been contacted, which created confusion and undermined trust. After three years, I eventually spoke directly with the landlord, who stated that they had not been informed about several of these issues. This directly contradicted what I had earlier been told by the agency, where I was informed that the landlord was aware and had declined to act. This did not seem to be an isolated issue with one individual; rather, it reflected a wider pattern, including after the transition from Salisbury to Winchester. After seeing this kind of behavior and service, it became very clear to me why the Salisbury branch was closed. Regarding the return of my deposit, despite speaking with James before handing over the property and clearly asking that, at the very least, this be handled properly and on time, more than three weeks passed after checkout. During this period, I sent multiple follow-up emails and chased the matter, yet received no response. It was only after I stated that I would take legal action that the deposit was returned within a matter of hours. Apparently, what should have been a simple click was treated like rocket science — somehow taking three weeks to complete. Working with them has truly been a nightmare. I would strongly advise others to proceed with caution before renting through Ewemove. Save yourself the stress, learn from my experience. You've been warned.

Negative experience: I have been a landlord client with this branch of ewe move for nearly 3 years. Over the past 2 months I have made contact with the branch manager, the property manager and 2 members of staff in the office. My issue turned inti a complaint that was never replied to. I am now moving the management of the property to another agent, to which both the agent and I have approved Ewe Move asking for handover documentation. The switching agent was acknowledged over 2 weeks ago and since then I have called twice and promised a call back. Still nothing. I’m a paying landlord being totally ignored and I’ve done enough chasing now. Unfortunately the only way I can think of to seek communication is via writing a review. Further to this Ewe Move have failed to do inspections or inform me of any inspections at my property. If you’re a landlord I would seriously stay clear of this firm.

Negative experience: Dreadful agent - James particularly. He supplied my sick mother with dodgy tenants who we then had to evict and they refused to supply us with the original AST and any bank details to recover the substantial losses we've suffered. He said he'd 'lost' all records. How is that possible in the digital age? AVOID

Negative experience: Avoid EweMove – Extremely Unprofessional Experience We had an incredibly disappointing experience renting through EweMove (Winchester/Salisbury). From the outset, we were misled about the nature of the tenancy, including who owned the property. We were told it had been bought by an overseas landlord, only to later discover it was still being actively marketed for sale — something the agent avoided discussing and never followed up on when questioned. It turns out we were renting directly from the property developer, who was still trying to sell the property and had only rented it out temporarily for cash flow. Throughout our tenancy, important maintenance issues were repeatedly ignored. Communication was consistently poor — unless it related to arranging viewings for potential buyers. Agents frequently turned up unannounced, and one in particular — Sarah — was patronising, intrusive, and repeatedly approached us without prior notice. On one occasion, during an unannounced visit, she went through our rubbish and recycling. When we emailed a formal complaint about this, we were ignored — until we recently escalated the issue to their head of franchise, at which point they finally admitted to going through our bins. Despite all of this, we really liked the house and decided to try and purchase it through the other agent, Charters, who had also been appointed. We did not want to deal with EweMove due to the lack of trust. Following our offer through Charters, the developers shared this information with James White from EweMove, who then began contacting us persistently, pressuring us to increase our offer and warning us that our tenancy would not be renewed. This was despite knowing we were expecting our first child. It felt like our situation was being deliberately exploited. We left the property in excellent condition and paid for a professional end of tenancy clean. EweMove carried out the checkout inventory, and the property was marked as sold STC the very next day. It has now been over two and a half weeks since we moved out, and our requests for the return of our £2,800 deposit have been ignored — money we urgently need while on maternity leave. We have referred our complaint to The Property Ombudsman, who has accepted the case, and we are currently going through the process with them. Based on our experience, we would strongly advise others to avoid EweMove.

Negative experience: Do not rent with Ewemove Winchester. They refused to answer calls regarding maintenance issues. We were without hot water for 2 weeks, no washing machine for 3 weeks, no heating for a month during winter, and lived in moldy and damp conditions that they had freshly painted over before we moved in. They do NOT answer calls about maintenance issues and for each issue I had to call 3 times a day and repeatedly email to eventually get anything fixed. Eventually I threatened to involve the council regarding the damp issue and then suddenly they were able to get our heating fixed. At the end of the tenancy, it took 2 months to get our deposit back. I repeatedly phoned and emailed about it to be ignored, eventually I phoned their personal mobile numbers and they sent it back. If you read other reviews you will see all the positive reviews are about buying property, and the negative reviews are all in relation to renting. This is the first time I've left a Google review as I was that disappointed and frustrated with their service. Do not rent with them.

When we had purchased our house 3 years earlier our interactions with other Ewemove agents had left a favourable impression. We booked Harvey for a onsite home appraisal and he arrived on time, well prepared, and was very considerate of our property and us. We agreed to have him act as our agent. He gave good advice on the small things we needed to do before getting the property listed. On the photo day he did a great job and showed great patience with helping us stage the property. Once the listing went live Harvey continued to do a stellar job. He booked through and hosted ten viewings that first week, and we received multiple offers of which we have accepted one. He has been great help guiding us through the sale of our first home!

Fantastic experience: I was given very professional help at EweMove on a prospective purchase. The viewing was on time, informative and non-pressurised. I was able to work out most of the logistics from information promptly supplied by the owner at the request of the agent. The service was personalised and professionalism. An issue that remains for all estate agents is clear information on the possible incremental increase in Ground Rents in selling details. There have been recent alerts about this issue. It is important to be able to make an informed choice before the expense of lawyers, surveyors etc. A challenge to the profession! Full marks to Malcolm at EweMove, however.

Estate Agents get bad publicity for being less than truthful, only after commission and having a conveyor belt service. Ewemove are the exception to that rule, we have had the complete opposite experience, we are forever in-debted!

Fantastic experience: After no success with a local estate agents in which we were locked into a 12 week contract to use no other estate agents, James White of Ewemove kept his promise of contacting us once this period was up. In doing so he managed to do more in a couple of weeks of getting a buyer than the local estate agents did in the 12 week period... Although its been a frustratingly lengthy process for the buyer to get together the necessary funds, James kept us in the loop throughout, eventually closing the deal with success!! We are impressed by his diligence and keeping to the fee he agreed with us. I would most certainly recommend James White and Ewemove.

Negative experience: My experience with this branch of Ewemove has been one of complete incompetence from start to finish. This began with a bungled transfer from previous estate agent, nobody knew what they were doing. Maintenance requests remained unanswered for the length of the tenancy, only being addressed at the point we were moving out no doubt to market the property as attractive to new tenants. These included a permanently leaking gutter, which not only encouraged the existing damp problem within the property but also led to sleepless nights, concerns about possible carbon monoxide leaks and requests for a carbon monoxide alarm, and collapsing fence. Rearranged agreed rent payment dates were ignored with money being taken out of the account the normal day, an administration fee paid in error to the previous estate agent during transition period took months to recover from Ewemove. The estate agent in question was extremely elusive to contact and we were constantly promised calls back which never came. Viewings for new tenants at the end of our tenancy were arranged only to end up being a no show with no warning or apology from the estate agent regarding our wasted time. On top of all this, following vacating the property it took months, literally months, of phone calls forward and backward to finally recover our £2,100 deposit, which due to sheer incompetence had never been properly transferred to the estate agent in question. I could go on and on and list many more issues. As I see from the reviews already submitted, Mr White appears to be successful in the sale of property. This I cannot comment on. On the rental front however, I would strongly advise to go elsewhere. EDIT: I stand by my original points addressed in my review and the response. However, Ewemove were helpful in contacting me and listening to further feedback and were very apologetic for the trouble I had to deal with.
