Negative experience: Bad communication when trying to sell a property

Fantastic experience: "I would highly recommend Kate Young Richardson from Haart estate agents. Her service was exceptional, and she went out of her way. She was prompt, extremely helpful, and courteous, with excellent communication skills. She even assisted in procuring things like a washing machine and even installing it on our behalf.She has even coordinated with property management team few times in order to get things back on track. So many times she has communicated even on her days off. Overall, I was thoroughly satisfied with the service and would highly recommend her."

Negative experience: Zero stars if possible Unfortunately, our experience with this letting agency has been extremely stressful due to poor communication, inconsistent information, and repeated changes in position over a prolonged period. From 7 January, when we served notice, we were given multiple conflicting explanations about our tenancy and notice requirements. Over the course of several weeks, we were told different and contradictory things, including: Initially, that there was no break clause in our contract and that we would need to pay remarketing fees (£595 + VAT, later changed to £495), plus rent and utilities until a new tenant took over; Then, that there was a break clause, but that it ended at the end of February; Then, that the break clause actually ended on 31 January, meaning no remarketing fees were required; Then, that our notice was invalid because it did not fall on the 31st, despite this not being stated anywhere in the contract; We were also told that if we did not stay until the end of February, “who is going to pay the landlord’s mortgage”, which we found inappropriate and not our contractual responsibility. Throughout this process, our one-month notice was treated as accepted, with discussions focused on dates and timing rather than validity. We made it clear from the outset that viewings and access were welcome at any time, and that we would honour a full month in practice, including paying pro-rata rent from 31 January to 7 February. Only at the very end after we raised concerns and sent a formal “cease and correct position” email were we suddenly told that nothing can waive the two-month notice, not emails, not conduct, and not the lack of objection, despite the tenancy agreement stating that the notice period may be shortened by the landlord or letting agent. Communication was slow and inconsistent, often taking 2–3 working days, with replies arriving late in the day, which added to the stress and uncertainty. When we attempted to raise a formal complaint, we were initially instructed by the senior agent handling our case to submit it through her. We later learned this was incorrect and were told the complaint would not be logged unless a specific form was completed. Shortly afterwards, we were informed by the Director that the complaint had, in fact, been accepted without the form, adding further confusion to an already difficult process. The constant changes in position, lack of clarity, and procedural inconsistency caused us significant stress and exhaustion, all of which could have been avoided with clear, accurate, and consistent communication. We have retained all correspondence and documentation and are prepared to escalate the matter to the Property Ombudsman and the Tenancy Deposit Scheme if required. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend this agency.

Negative experience: I previously left this estate agent a positive review, but I am now changing it due to their recent actions. My initial contact with them a couple of years ago, and again a few months ago, was professional and friendly. However, I chose to proceed with another agent as their rates were more competitive. Despite repeatedly asking to be removed from their marketing list, both by phone and email, I have continued to receive calls. Adnan in particular has continued to contact me despite being clearly told not to. This persistence is frustrating and intrusive, and I have now had to block their number. I would advise the company to respect customers’ communication preferences and honour requests to stop contact.

Negative experience: The service received by haart when trying to sell my deceased father’s property was absolutely horrific and quite frankly traumatic for a young woman to be dealing with whilst grieving the unexpected loss of my father. From accepting an offer and being told the house was SSTC and both myself and solicitor asking on various occasions what was going on to no response, several months later we was informed the offer had fallen through days after completion. This meant the property had not been marketed for several months. Then when questioning Erica (the manager) on what had happened and why no updates were provided sooner she was unable to offer an explanations except stating that trying to sell my dads house was like trying to flog a dead horse- something highly inappropriate to say to someone grieving. In the end, after using haart for over a year and getting no where, due to lack of communication, unprofessionalism, insensitivity and no real work effort or drive to get a sale for me, I decided to instruct other agents. At this point I got all the apologies and the KIND (?!?) offer for haart to continue marketing the property at a reduced rate as a gesture of goodwill? Why they believed I would stick with an estate agent that has shown nothing but incompetence throughout the whole process I do not know. Luckily, I stuck to my guns with instructing another agent and have managed to secure a sale and a completion date within 3 months of the new estate agents taking over. I have been waiting for the last 2 months for the local area manager of haart to contact me as promised by Erica, whoever as this has not happened (like everything else promised by haart) I am now voicing the issues on here in the hope no other person is put in the same situation as me. Please, if you are grieving or need a quick house sale, do not put your trust into haart.

Fantastic experience: Kate Richardson Young, the manager at Harts Ayelsbury was very proactive in her communications and also very helpful in responding to all my queries promptly and with immense patience.. I will strongly recommend Harts..

Fantastic experience: We were recently looking for a rental place and Kate was amazing throughout the whole process. She helped us sort through different options and managed to arrange several viewings for us on really short notice. Racheal was always on time, super friendly, and answered every question we had. Overall, the support from start to finish was great. Really happy with the experience and would definitely recommend this team!

Negative experience: Ivonna Dimpere was extremely rude and unprofessional , threatening during our check out. We unfortunately couldn’t find somewhere fast enough and she was nasty over the phone and in emails. Shocking! Her emails were rude ,her tone was unprofessional at all times and even after leaving she tried to claim a £2,000 bill for damages which obviously was cut in half by the adjudication. Unreasonable!!! This has left a bad experience with Haart for me.

Negative experience: Review as a landlord paying Haart for property management, I had multiple payments that were duplicated and deducted from my monthly fees. As a result, it took multiple attempts of emails and phone calls to have the funds returned to me. Staff at the Milton Keynes office were very short with me and struggled to find these overpayments. After 3 months, still waiting for over £100 worth of reimbursements with the excuse of the refund being ‘still in progress’.

Negative experience: Poor dealings with Haart, slow to respond, waited three days for a call back during early negotiations on a place we liked and I had to chase them daily. We felt like they were driving up the price of the property (which was incorrectly advertised IMO) and dragged us along with ‘hard balling’ methods. Surely you can’t reduce the price of a property but keep the ranged price at the original sale price, it’s either reduced or it’s not. Either way they wasted a week of our time and I’d steer well clear

Negative experience: A shameless company never respond to your call never respond to your email and they will detect the money just like they are earning the money please please please stay away from haart letting agency. Especially from their property management team and a letting team from last few months I am trying to reach them and no one is responding. And my current tenant also contacting them but there are no one to respond them and on 19th of October tenant have to vacate the property but no response from them they are the pathetic company I ever seen in this letting industry.

We spent more than 14 months viewing various properties across different estate agents. Our experience was not so great until we had our first viewing with Erica. Right from the first visit until our exchange, everything went smoothly. I must say I have come across a genuine human being who care for others. We felt so blessed since we were treated so differently. She came across as not just a sale person whose aim to sell property. We have been treated by Erica so amazingly that we will never forget her service. We wish her all the best and highly recommend her as a genuine estate agent.

Negative experience: Awful - unfortunately, the property we wanted was advertised through Haart - from the beginning they have been so difficult, hard to get in contact with and involves a lot of chasing emails. Work ethic is very low - I had to call 5 times to try book a viewing, each time someone said 'they will call you back' as if... only was interested when we stated we were eager to put down a deposit (called back within 5 minutes - after 2.5 weeks waiting) - at the viewing, the woman did not know anything about the property and had very little motivation to try and sell it. Unresponsive since putting down a deposit. Avoid if you can - very low work ethic, not empathetic and I generally do not know how this branch is still functioning.

Fantastic experience: I have just had the pleasure of a viewing for a property we’re looking to buy in Aylesbury from Olivia. We found her very helpful, knowledgeable and accommodating to our viewing times. I wish all Estate Agents were like her!

Negative experience: Contacted them twice about 2 different properties to rent - both on the day they were listed on Rightmove. Had no calls back and chased via email only to find they had been let agreed. Seem unbothered.

Negative experience: Absolutely useless when it comes to communication, fixing issue and all round customer care, we had to immediately leave our property due to issues not being fixed for close to 4 months and we have been out of the house for a month and just received a call from the plumber, if there was an emergency it is scary to think what they would/wouldnt do. We have also had to take legal action due to still no communication and harassment. we sent emails left right and center, also went into the office bare in mind. still no resolution Please think twice before choosing this company to let or sell a home

Negative experience: Absolutely shocking service from front desk all the way up to management. Not a single person I have spoken with has been able to do their job. Constantly told someone will get back to you, this never happens. Their negligence has cost money and they have ignored issues for months on end. The worst agency I’ve ever had to deal with and would 10/10 never recommend.

Negative experience: Ruined my Christmas... Was supposed to move in as a tenant to a flat on 26th November but they left my family homeless after changing the move in date all the time and lying about when they will be able to give me the keys. Lack of communication + empathy. They ignored my calls and emails. The flat only became available in January which by then I already found something else. If they ignore your calls... try to call from a different number as they seem to intentionally avoid giving people reassurance.

Negative experience: Worst company in my entire life they never respond to your calls, nor they will inform you anything they'll feel like there are landlord of the property they will never give you rent on the proper time and they will detect full amount of rent they will give you only 10% of the rent if you gonna ask them they'll just bang the phone on your next time they will not pick up any call of yours calls, I had to chase for the rent from the last three months I faced a horrible experience with heart. When I'm going to contact Aylesbury branch they will say contact planning management team in Milton Keynes. If you go to there Alyesbury branch they behave really badly and they will say that the property manager left the company (Kitty Leahy and Lheyton). All the fraudsters sitting there yesterday I receive a call from Martin, He gonna sort it out everything within two hours. It's almost 24 hours finish haven't received any response the property manager Martin. Please please stay away from this company is in horrible company and a Fraudster people in this company.
