Negative experience: Our agent was Filip who organised a viewing for us for over a month, the property is advertised as a long term hold, 12 months minimum to even be considered, 2 bedroom flat, we excitedly drove down from North England for this viewing, we were showed around, we were eager to get the paperwork done. The day when we would've started signing the papers, he kindly remembered to tell us that the house is sold and it's actually available for 4 months or less before we would get relocated to a single bedroom park house. Right before we were about to sign the papers! Incredibly ruthless. When I told him we drove 300 miles to check this property in person, his answer was "Oh..." No apologies, no professionalism, just a nonchalant "Oh" that's was his final parting words, I kid you not. That "Oh" cost us 300£, stayed in a hotel for 2 additional nights only for this company to try and pull a fast one on us. Back in 2016 me and my sister tried to rent a flat, they made us pay a 600£ non refundable holding fee only for them to cancel the last week, stating "we never had enough income to rent it in the first place, we couldn't even apply for it with that income!" Be very careful with this company, they will leave no stone unturned if they can slime some extra cash out of you.

Negative experience: I would highly recommend all potential tenants DO NOT buy their non-depaoit insurance, this company will make up whatever excuses to scrounge your pocket after tenancy no matter how noce you treated the house. The money spent is a total waste since you still need to deal with all kind of claims after all.

Positive experience: We just bought our first property with Romans. We saw two properties with them. The reason I am giving 4 stars is because the experience with the first property we saw with them was not great ( it was a property that needed a lot of work and we put in an offer lower than the asking price). We kept calling to get an update on the offer and for over a week we were told the office couldn’t get hold of the owner of the house to tell them about our offer. However, when we put in an offer for this second property which was in much better conditions hence, we offered the asking price, subject to the survey result, we were called by Mr A.C. (manager at Romans) who wanted to know if we are serious about our offer as we had pulled out of the previous offer ( we never even had an offer accepted we had just booked a second viewing to better assess the property and see if we can increase our offer. Additionally we found that at times Mr A.C. was a bit abrupt in his email, after the survey results came out and we were trying to renegotiate on the offered price ( which was subject to the survey) he said that he is not advising us to do that, as the sellers may go with a second buyer… I guess he was trying to do his job and mind the interest of the sellers, from our perspective as a buyer it could have been a better experience. However, I must say that Miss I.W. (one of the sales consultants) was absolutely brilliant and I would most definitely give her 5 starts, always empathetic and kind to us. Furthermore, she was very considerate during the viewing appointments and she was giving us the opportunity to properly explore the properties. Overall a good experience

Explained process clearly. After we went through referencing we spoke to someone else for the final paperwork. Unclear why Romans have you deal with multiple people as unlike Druhv they were much harder to get hold of hence the 4* rating. Overall good service tho. Thanks.

Fantastic experience: Adam and his team were brilliant to work with. Romans took over the sale of my property following a bad experience with another local estate agent. Adam and his team were professional and helpful throughout the process, they communicated regularly giving updates, answering questions which was very reassuring during a stressful process. They were responsive and helped us to navigate the sale as smoothly as possible. I would highly recommend working with Adam and his team.

Negative experience: Very quick to take their commission, but not so quick in giving the advice. My interaction with Romans Estate Agents was disappointing. Despite assurances of effective communication, there was a notable lack of coordination with my solicitor, leading to unnecessary stress. Additionally, I had hoped for more proactive guidance as a first time buyer and support throughout the process, which was regrettably lacking. While the estate agent may have good intentions, their performance fell short of expectations. Improved communication and a more hands-on approach to client support would greatly enhance their service. Understandably not our estate agent (Joshua)'s fault entirely, but the keys were not even given to the estate agent on completion day, we had to go a knock on the sellers door to collect the keys.

Fantastic experience: Extremely high quality service and very helpful, they were very pragmatic with handling my strange transaction. Negative experience: Really disappointing service, I wouldn't use them. We viewed a couple of properties with Romans Lower Earley and were very disappointed. On both appointments they double booked the appointment including a second viewing. I was so annoyed as the Sales Adviser Jack was more interested in showing somebody else around the property. I went back to the office and asked to speak to the Sales Manager. He was with a customer so was going to 'call me back'. He never did and again I left a message for him the next day and again no call. Avoid this agent, there are much better agents in lower Earley to choose from

Fantastic experience: Romans have been managing the rental of my property since 2021 to a very satisfactory standard but in particular in the last year Josh Property management became my appointed lead. Josh has handled all of my queries professionally, quickly and courteously each time. Nothing is ever too much trouble for him. Phone conversations are also superb from Josh....clear and concise answers. I hope Josh remains my lead person for the duration of the current rental period.

Fantastic experience: The team were extremely helpful and hard working during the process of our sale over this last year which had its challenges. All members of the sales team were very professional and attentive throughout every stage of the process, starting with Adam at the initial engagement and the viewing team of Joshua and Olly. Feedback from the viewings was always prompt and informative for both positive and negative aspects, in particular by Joshua. We were impressed with the continued effort and enthusiasm particularly after a sale fell through. Whenever there were important milestones or issues then Adam would advise promptly and clearly. An aspect of the service which we were most pleased with was the level of communication in its frequency and tone, we were always a part of the process and our opinion was paramount and never at any point did we not feel in control of the process. We were very impressed with the service from Adam and his team and would highly recommend them.

Positive experience: I am the executor of my father’s estate and there was also a Trustee. It took Romans several weeks to get the property on the market, this was due to Romans insisting on a third party company for legal documentation who wanted us to download an app. I chose not to deal with the third party company, nor would I download the app, as my mobile was an old one plus I didn’t feel it fair to force the Trustee to do the same. Instead I asked to deliver documents to Romans electronically. Romans refused to accept this proposal. All went quiet for several weeks, Parkers (Joint agency) were working hard on getting the property sold, so I wasn’t too fussed. In the end Romans accepted electronic documentation! Second annoyance, I didn’t request or seek Romans opinion on Parkers, my business with Parkers was very good. Yet Romans felt obligated to give me a bad appraisal on Parkers, saying how shocking they were and they had given me bad advice. I can honestly say Parkers treated us well. Final annoyance, the slow progression of the eventual sale by Romans, next to no updates and no sense of urgency to complete. In the event however, Romans did successfully sell the house for us

Fantastic experience: I purchased the property from Romans Lower Earley. Starting from property viewing service, they offered a friendly and detailed introduction to the property. Negative experience: Avoid, avoid and one more avoid. They gonna take keys without your permission and walk in to the house. When you try to be helpful and release property earlier to give new tenants chance to find school for kids they gonna say you need to pay £480 for re-advertisement just for change date! And finally when you left keys because contract is end they will ignore you to sort it out deposit. Nice one never more.
