Fantastic experience: I've just signed on a house through Julie Twist Properties and it has been a great process. Chloe B has been so helpful and friendly the whole time putting up with me emailing her a million time!

Negative experience: I had a great experience until the end of tenancy. Part of my deposit unfairly held as they found some cobwebs and dust on top of the closets. In my 12 years in UK I never got a deduction on my deposit, because I always make sure to deep clean and leave it in great condition! Pressurised to agree with the deduction of £190 for this dust. I really did deep clean the full house but the agent had the audacity to keep telling me that the house was left dirty. They came with an UHD camera and took closeup photos of the cobwebs and dust on top of the closet. We have left the property exactly as we found it, it was just an unfair way to get some income from tenants. Both me and my husband are outraged in the unfair deduction, we were told the cleaner spend 3h cleaning - aparently cobwebs and dust on top of closets take 3h to clean.

Negative experience: Truly shocking experience with the lettings department at Julie Twist. Joe, (who unfrotunately doesn’t work in lettings) is the only person who seems to understand what customer service is all about. He was friendly and did his best to help, but even he couldn’t get through to the lettings team. He sent them a message, and they only tried to call me back after he sent them a message twice. I misesed the call as i was in a meeting. Since then, I’ve called multiple times like 10 times — no answer, no response. It’s been impossible to even book a simple viewing. The communication and professionalism from the lettings department are completely unacceptable. A total waste of time. Landlords, be warned — if this is how they handle potential tenants, it’s no wonder your properties sit empty. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere if I were you. Avoid.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic service, thank you! Ellie and Paul were very polite and helpful early on, and I dealt mainly with Chris from there onwards. My case progressed very slowly (due to a poor choice in conveyancers on my part!), and the purchase was truly kept alive by Chris' persistence; without this, I have little doubt that it would have fallen through. I was kept fully-informed throughout, thanks to Chris' responsiveness and proactivity, and he managed the relationship with an understandably frustrated seller admirably. He repeatedly went 'above and beyond' to ensure that all parties worked together to get this over the line. I would highly recommend Julie Twist to anybody, based on this experience.

Negative experience: Difficult admin process when short staffed and many errors for move in. They have addressed many issues within the week of move in, but there are communication issues. Don’t expect to find a simple letter or anything inside flat/house that Julie Twist prepares before arrival because the agency doesn’t check the property in person before move in, especially on a quick turn around. Negative experience: TLDR: Darren was great at getting me on board and providing confidence. Actual management of tenancy and property was far below expectation and has left me out of pocket. I do not recommend to use JT. Used Julie Twist to managed my property to let. I went through a round of scoping out different agents to manage my property and I was super pleased with the introduction and build up and setup with Darren. He made things very clear, was very patient and reassuring and gave me complete confidence that Julie Twist could manage my property. Julie Twist aren't the cheapest but I felt that I would pay a bit more for the confidence that Darren provided. The platform (property file) used for me to keep watch of my property seemed to be quite good. It notified when viewings were coming up with some nice prelim details etc. Tenant applications came in quite quickly and I gave final say over the selected tenant. Sadly, Darren is not the person that managed my property. I had a dedicated property manager assigned, which is I guess is normal. Things were fine for the most part of the tenancy although the first red flag was in regards to the inspection. Darren had informed me that there were quarterly inspections, so around three months in, I had checked the property file which indicated that an inspection was booked. This inspection came and went without any result. I messaged the property manager who said it had been done, but for some reason the file was missing and couldn't be found so another one was done. The bulk of the problems came at the end of the tenancy. The tenant was suddenly in arrears but I was never notified of this. I had only discovered this when I followed up with Julie Twist what was happening with the tenant - would he be extending his stay or does a new tenant have to be found. They didn't know... In the end, the tenant returned back to his home country without providing notice, and having issues with his bank account. It was only at this point was I made aware that the rent was being made in person in cash, not by standing order or direct debit. Julie Twist was under the understanding that the tenant was moving onto a monthly rolling contract. The tenant informed me that he was not given confirmation that this was the case and was of the understanding that the tenancy agreement has ended. What this has left me with is a giant list of repairs that need to be made, two months rent unpaid, and a deposit that does not cover the rent arrears and the works required to get my property back into a marketable condition. At the end of the tenancy, I asked about the quarterly inspections. As far as I can tell, only the one which I followed up on at the first quarter was done. Property File has no record of any other inspections, and upon asking my property manager, I was told that they were done and I would be sent the inspections but none of these ever materialised. I have no evidence of the other three interim inspections ever taken place. The whole point of having an agent manage my property was so that I didn't have to do any chasing or follow up myself, especially as I live abroad where it's more difficult to even try to do. Sadly, Julie Twist does not give me any confidence to be able to manage my property and I have since moved to another agent. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Julie Twist for managing let properties.
