Negative experience: I don't know what this company is like as a sales agent but as a lettings agent for student lettings. I must say the customer service and interaction is one of the poorest on the block. The property Manager Alicia Cardone, is rude and condescending in email interactions that I was forced to always copy her entire office inclucing the kitchen sink into conversations to ensure I'm not attacked in email interactions (Not that it ever stopped her). To give context to my review, below is her most recent email to me. "This is unfortunately the downside of a shared property, which you signed up for. In line with HMO regulations, there is more than enough space in the kitchen to store your food and belongings. Not a problem and yes it has been locked previously. I can only assume it has mistakenly been left unlocked by a contractor. I allowed them to store belongings in there for one day and yes they did pay for it, not that this is any of your business and the landlord agreed for this. This was a condition of their tenancy. Finally, I can see your vacation date is 10th March, can you please confirm as per the notice that this is still the case and you will be leaving on this date?"

Positive experience: I have sold two house recently with fresh and have had mostly a positive experience. Both houses sold quickly and all the staff answering the phone in the sales office were very helpful and always did exactly what they promised. They were always keen to get the sale completed. My only criticism is the branch manager. He tried to bully me into taking a lower offer by presenting misinformation. It was obvious he just wanted a quick easy sale. He seemed frustrated with his work and even made a derogatory remark about landlords which I am one! His behaviour was disappointing as all of the other staff were first class.

I was 20 to 30mins late due to work schedule but Rob not only waited till I got there, he stayed on the phone to help direct me to the exact location so I didn’t struggle. Fantastic experience: Highly recommended Selling my family home after the close deaths of my parents was definitely not the task I wanted. I knew Simon Steel, the manager of Fresh estate, since we were children and couldn't have got through this without the help of him and his wonderful colleagues. Wasn't the easiest house to sell due to the position, but Simon and his gang never let me feel despondent, and still sold within 3 months. I was kept in the loop throughout the whole process, and I definitely wholeheartedly recommended Fresh Estate Agents.

Fantastic experience: I have needed to find a place to rent at short notice. The application process was very easy and Rob set me up a viewing for the next day! He showed up on time and took the time to show me the whole building. He let me view multiple flats despite only enquiring about one which was useful! After deciding I would like to move in, Gemma has been very helpful with the application process, answering questions and helping with reference related queries by email. Negative experience: They are terrible, I can’t trust them with their word, they can say something and deny at the end, it was a bad experience. You have to be very careful dealing with them, send text, demand a text bcos in words they will deny you and tell it to your face their calls are not recorded. Horrible company.

Negative experience: Steer clear from this company. I have been accused of lying and gaslit by my property manager. Twice, men were provided with keys and walked into my house without prior warning, one without even knocking or announcing himself when I was a girl alone and upon complaining to Fresh I was told ‘it wasn’t always a law’ making excuses for something that made me afraid to be in my house alone and not taking any accountability despite the law being in place for a reason. My house was damp and mouldy and Fresh consistently told us there was nothing wrong and the staff are rude and unprofessional. Not worth the hassle

Fantastic experience: Having tried to connect with alot of agents and landlords, in my search for an aprtment in Swansea, I find that Fresh Estate is the most responsive to enquireis and always ready to help. The company worked around the clock to ensure that I met my timeline for moving into the apartment. Shout out to Rob, Claire and Adrian! The company's customer service is also very exceptional. I have had to refer the Fesh Estate to alot of my clolleagues and I'm getting positive feedback about the company's responsiveness. Lastly, the apartment is consistent with what I saw in the videos and pictures. Great quality. Update: The previous review was from three years ago. I rented with Fresh Estate Lettings again from August 2023 to February 2025, and my experience was even better than before. They were highly professional, prompt in addressing any issues with the apartment, and respectful of our space. Alicia was fantastic and very professional. Negative experience: 2 very bad experiences after viewing properties and making offers staff member was very dismissive and unprofessional which has made me miss out on 2 potential purchases not happy at all very annoyed I will be cautious to deal with this estate agents in the future Reply to your comment I am very upset at the way I felt I was misguided regarding the offer before even thinking of withdrawing this complaint I suggest you listen to the calls made or contact me directly. I also had a viewing of another property that the agent was late over 25mins for and there was already other people ahead of us waiting to view the property which should have been half hour earlier than us we also couldn’t view all of the property as there was occupants in one of the rooms which we were not notified about prior to viewing. Negative experience: Students please be careful!!! Half a month before the start date of our tenancy, we were informed that we would not be able to move in until mid-September due to ongoing work on a new bathroom. Whilst we were reimbursed for the delay in our move-in date, this was only after we asked for such. This work continued until mid-October, and was a constant disruption. We were unable to use the kitchen or the upstairs bathroom to its full extent, and we came home multiple times to find paint and drywall all over our kitchen and our possessions due to a lack of adequate protective cover. These workmen - as well as a number of future men who would come round to fix issues in the house - would also routinely let themselves into the property without knocking or making any tenants aware of their presence. Whilst we understand that they are employed through a third party and Fresh have limited control over them, female tenants felt particularly uncomfortable due to these actions and they did negatively impact our tenancy. The house was rather dirty when we moved in, and we found a fully decomposed rodent skeleton behind the freezer despite assurances that there had been a deep clean. Despite having signed onto a bills-inclusive package, we were informed April/May time that we had run out of allowance and that we would be required to pay bills entirely by ourselves for the remainder of our tenancy. We believed this was a mistake, and contacted the Fresh Accounts team only to be told that they were extremely busy. After phoning up EDF and Welsh Water, we confirmed that we still had over £700 of our bills allowance remaining and proceeded to pass this information onto Fresh. We received no apology for the stress this caused, and would likely have not been made aware of this discrepancy had we not independently contacted our bills provider (which we were paying Fresh to do for us). One room had an awful mould problem. This seems to be a running theme throughout Fresh properties. We were told that Fresh could not assist in any way due to it being a tenant-created issue, despite it being clear that the mould problem in this particular spot was persistent and was evident in pictures taken of the property before we moved in. The tenant living in this room was then forced- for their own wellbeing and out of their own pocket - to invest in mould-resistant paint in order to continue inhabiting the property. Despite one of the directors of the company being made aware of this serious issue, Fresh offered no assistance. The culmination of these issues came in the form of Fresh’s end of tenancy deposit claim. This claim came to £594 between four tenants. This was originally even higher, but we received a £220 goodwill reduction from the landlord. This meant that, according to Fresh, we had somehow caused over £800 of damage and loss to the property. We had left the property in a much cleaner state than we had received it, and made sure nearly all of the initial inventory was returned. After DPS was involved, their judgment reduced the amount owed to only £9 - over 500% lower than what Fresh claimed. This dispute was ongoing since late July, and was only just resolved in late September. This extreme reduction shows that nearly every claim made by Fresh was blown massively out of proportion. This includes charging us for bin bags placed in the street in accordance with email conversations, as well as charging us for our own property which Fresh had included in the initial inventory which was carried our after we had moved in. It also appears that this ‘goodwill gift’ is offered to every student as a way to discourage DPS disputes. This strikes us as highly immoral, and as a way to take advantage of students who may not understand their rights as tenants. We cannot, in good judgement, recommend Fresh Lettings and hope that they truly reflect on how they treat those who rent from them. This is a huge shame, considering how polite and friendly the company was when we initially signed onto the property. It is extremely disappointing.

Negative experience: This is the second review I've written (alongside Facebook) as I want to ensure students choose their estate agent wisely and do not get messed around like we have: Really appalled with the treatment of students by Fresh. We tried to contact them over a month ago in response to an automatic email THEY sent out, asking to state if we were not continuing our contract in our current flat. When we replied, but we simply had automatic email replies in return. We wanted to start the process, knowing that viewings would have to take place in our current flat and wanted to get them out of the way. Only 2 days ago did we have an email asking what our decision was regarding our contract, after replying, an Emma said she would begin scheduling viewings. I asked that video viewings be used where possible, as we had to do when we first signed for the flat, and that visitors wear masks and sanitise if they insist on physical viewings. Emma scheduled an appointment for Thursday 12pm for the video recording and immediately after, instructed us that a physical viewing would take place at 10:30am on Friday. I asked whether the video could simply be done alongside the physical viewing by the same estate agent to limit our contact with others due to COVID-19 and it only being 2 weeks until Christmas, we wanted to minimise our risk even further. After some back and forth, the answer was simply no. She confirmed that someone would attend at 12pm. However, no one did attend. Only an hour and a half later, Emma emailed to say they would now be using the original video viewing. I wrote an email of complaint to Emma regarding their approach to this. We do not appreciate being told, rather than asked, when it is suitable for them to attend, especially given that we are trying to work and attend university from home as well as finishing assignments and assessments at the end of the semester, yet nothing was done to rectify this. They still insisted on turning up today despite this being far from ideal for ourselves. I emailed Emma yesterday evening to further confirm this appointment as I didn't want a reoccurrence from yesterday and she confirmed the viewing would take place. Alas, it did not. We had got up to clean the flat, postponed starting our university work and yet no one turned up. We haven't even had any communication off Emma or anyone else at Fresh to explain what has happened. Utterly appalling treatment of students and total disregard for our other commitments and our comfortability with others visiting during a global pandemic. There are better estate agents out there, I urge you to avoid this one.

Fantastic experience: After being let down by various agents in Swansea letting my HMO, the last one leaving me in a not ideal situation, I was recommended Fresh. I was somewhat cynical and didn't hold much hope of them being any better than the many agents I've used over the years. This changed when I met Rob Chipp from Fresh. Straight up, keen but without the over promising, realistic and knowlegable of the area and student letting in particular. A much more confident and in depth analysis was presented than I'd had before, and having been in the property game for a decade and meeting a lot of agents, this was refreshing. It was a late time of year to get student tenants, the previous agent having just totally dropped the ball. Adding to this was the fact I had significant external works ongoing, and the inside was being prepped for works also, so I needed an agent that could sell this to prospects. And that's what he did. In a matter of weeks I had a full tenancy of 6 agreed. Rob also introduced me to a few things that as a landlord make my life easier that I was unaware of, and remained positive and professional throughout. When I phone the office someone answers, when I email someone replies. If an answer isn't immediately available, someone actually gets back to me with one once checking, instead of blagging it or not returning emails or calls. Professional. Functional. Sensibly priced.

Negative experience: STUDENTS AVOID!! Would give 0 stars if I could. A terrible letting agency. Lived in a mouldy, damp house for a year, the electrics were dodgy and were constantly tripping, and had most of my deposit taken for ‘cleaning fees’ (the new tenants have been in contact with me and the house was in fact not cleaned) and I’m now being chased by debt collectors for a bill from outside my tenancy, as my name was not taken off when it should’ve been. They also give incorrect personal details away without your consent. All in all, a complete farce of a company that I can’t wait to be done with.

Negative experience: Had a solid relationship with them, renting for over 4 years with no faults on our end or theirs. Then they took most of our deposit for terrible reasons. They make the actual landlords look bad. Fresh increased our rent during our tenancy I'm sure all agencies are like this but if you have the option, try somewhere else first. They all do their job badly and then blame it on the people just trying to live in the end. I've yet to find estate agents that are actually competent. They are just middle men that make everything more complicated.

Fantastic experience: Fresh offer a professional service, as trustee of a trust fund which rents to students, the team a great job finding students, collecting funds and making inventory checks. The team also advise on updates and have a good network of contractors for repairs/ maintenance / fire safety. They are also well connected to Swansea council.

Fantastic experience: Rented a flat through Fresh for 6 months, absolutely no problems, always very prompt when reporting stuff. Lovely staff, really easy to talk to and get hold and very accommodating when I was moving out and across the country for work. Would 100% recommend renting through them! ^_^

Negative experience: WARNING TO STUDENTS. Do NOT rent from this agency. I rented from them for my final year and 4 years on it's still haunting me. When i moved in, the place was dirty and the garden was full of rubbish (including rusty knives!). When we had a leak in the kitchen roof which set off the fire alarms, instead of fixing the leak they disconnected the fire alarm system and painted over the damp ceiling! A few months after moving out, I got contacted by a debt collector for an outstanding electricity bill which was for a period where i no longer lived there! (Tenancy ended 30/06 and bill was for 02/07 onwards). I tried cancelling our bills before moving out but needed a new name to put on the account and when i asked Fresh they said that they sort that out and i should leave it to them, clearly i never should have trusted them! And today, 4 years later, i get another letter from a debt collector for the gas supplier for a bill that (again!) Is for the period after my tenancy!! The worst part, is that i know I'm not a one off case. I had other friends who also rented from fresh in different houses and also have had similar issues. Stay away from them!!! Edit in response to the reply below: indeed the fire alarm is a legal requirement in a HMO property which is why it's even more shocking that it was left disconnected for so long. i did let an individual room, but i was the first person to move into the property meaning that the rubbish and dirt had not been cleared since the previous academic year. i was also told when viewing the property that it would all be cleared before i moved in, it wasn't for months after i moved in. i have also now spoken to the utility companies who have told me that my name was actually left on the accounts long after the last day of my tenancy which is why they contacted me. they quickly agreed that the outstanding payments were indeed not mine. once again this shows you will fabricate any excuse necessary to avoid any responsibilities. instead saying that everyone you disagree with is wrong, why not take accountability and have the decency to apologies.

Fantastic experience: Matthew and his team were very professional and acted promptly from the start of the agreement. I had previously had tthe property for sale with Dawson's at Sketty, who were frankly disappointing throughout the time period the property was on the market with them. Fresh were much better and from day 1 to now and have really not put a foot wrong. Photo's, Advertisements, Communication, higher number of viewings, overall enthusiasm of staff etc. has been top class. e.g. I have received a phone call immediately after every viewing; at Dawson's I had to chase them every time there was a viewing, to see how the viewing went, so customer service far better with Fresh. Matthew and his team delivered what Matthew promised me he would, by selling the property quickly and delivering excellent customer service and communication throughout, and......i'm very hard to please and don't give praise lightly! I would recommend Fresh Estate Agents to anyone wishing to sell their property. Agency Fees were also very reasonable and fair for the amount of work they did throughout; at just 1%......thank you Matt and Team!!!!

Positive experience: I currently rent a 4 bed property in Dunvant off you and have done since September 2020. Staff are always polite and professional but jobs are slow to get done and some of the issues at the property pre date me and my kids actually moving in 18 months ago, contractor promises to get things sorted telling myself and Alicia but then goes weeks of no communication until I chase things again. One of the most serious issues that pre dates us is a cracked balcony door window that scares me with the kids as if they knock into it and breaks away will cause serious injuries. I know Alicia has chased this many a time and neither her or myself seem to get anyway. Maybe using a different contractor if other is too busy may be a solution. I want to give more star rating but sadly because of unresolved over many months at present I can not do this. But please rest assured the staff are always lovely and try but need more assistance now. I think the owners response is very unprofessional and it also reflects you as an agent because it is for you to chase and not me as a tenant. As a business owner myself I suggest you respond in a more professional manner and not on the offensive and with your assistance will gladly alter my review. To be honest with the owners response I am.in a mind to change to 2 star but I won't because I am hoping I will have a much more professional response in future

The Fresh staff worked very swiftly to help us in challenging circumstances to get a rental home. They were all very happy to help and really got the job done in a swift and friendly way.
