Bairstow Eves Sales and Letting Agents Nottingham

Negative experience: Honestly can't recommend them, as a tenant, at all. When we moved in they wrongfully assumed I pay the bills from my account, electric was set up in my name. Even though my Mrs handles all of that. (It's 2026 not 1940). Now we're due to move out, on 3 occasions we've been messed about by them. 1st, I get a phone call asking if they're still ok to come "tomorrow". We hadn't been notified they were coming at all. They then asked us to waive the 24 hour notice they're required, by law, to give us. 2nd time, person viewing was a no-show. However, they turned up 45 minutes earlier than booked, and walked around my house outside. 3rd time, even the estate agent hasn't shown up. We've spent 2 hours cleaning the house head to toe to make it presentable, postponed plans so that they can show the people round and we don't even get a call to say they've cancelled (if that's what has happened). We let them know 2.5 months EARLY that we would be moving out when our tenancy ends, so they may find someone easier than us giving last minute notice. Fuming is an understatement.

Negative experience: Bought a property by them. And it was cat and mouse play. I kept chasing them. Very bad experience. Special Marcus in the office. After receiving the keys I trust them they will find me some useful information from original seller like water mains valves but sooner they gave me keys they said ur file ks close and we can't do anything else . I asked them simple question just call seller and find out the valve location. Beside this they lost the keys for property which took another 2 weeks to retrieve them. Thier mortgage advisor is good lady she got me right deal but other office staff ohh man u better stay away

Fantastic experience: This review is for Amy Ashmore at the Maid Marion office. We have had our rental properties managed by BairstowEves for over ten years with mixed results. However over the last four years we have had great support from Amy. She has responded to our queries either directly or deligation. Recently we had an issue with documentation that could have led to a technicality that prevented us from evecting a difficult tenant, however Amy’s intervention prevented this from happening. In addition she helped us recoup the last months rent which the tenant had not paid. In essence Amy is a great asset to BairstowEves and we are grateful for her support and professionalism.

Imogen and the team have been fantastic, we had a bit of a bumpy ride securing our rental property but were met with nothing but patience, warmth and kindness from all of the team. Imogen was so efficient with everything, nothing was too much to ask and I really felt secure in working with these guys. Will definitely be recommending this team to anyone looking to rent or buy!

Negative experience: I would strongly discourage anyone from renting student property through Bairstow Eves based on our experience at 14 Devonshire Promenade this year. During the middle of winter, our house was left without heating for three weeks, which is completely unacceptable, especially in freezing conditions. We were initially told we would receive compensation for this, but that promise was later withdrawn without proper explanation. To make matters worse, one of my housemates was seriously ill with sepsis during this period and couldn’t safely stay in the house because of the lack of heating. Despite being aware of this, the issue was still not resolved with any urgency or concern for tenant wellbeing. Now we are dealing with yet another issue: our WiFi — which is included in our rent — has stopped working. Instead of resolving it, we’ve been told the landlord is refusing to fix it. The agency has been extremely unhelpful and has made little effort to advocate for tenants or ensure the problem is addressed. Overall, communication has been poor, maintenance issues have been handled slowly or not at all, and we feel completely unsupported as tenants. This has been a stressful and frustrating experience, and I would not recommend Bairstow Eves to students looking for reliable accommodation management.

Withheld my deposit, never solved any issue in a dilapidated house, everthing was already broken, they refused to fix anything during my tenancy and now wotholding my deposit. Agree with other reviews Sophie buckthrope very rude. I've never had issues with any other agents and will never use these cheats and u professional people again

Negative experience: I had very bad experience with these guys. Lost my hard earned money because of their poorly recorded check in report at very start of tenancy. The Check in report didnt had a picture of a very small area behind the garage and boundary wall. And there was a garden chair left by earlier occupier/owner. I found this and kept it inside the garage to save it from the weather. Now when I vacated, they compared the check in report to check out report and said i left a garden chair (i am not mad to leave it alone and take my rest things from garage, if that was mine) and charged me for disposing waste. Too bad, poorly documented and when i asked for missing photo of that area, no answer. no revert. Basically they sugar coat you at start and later at end of tenancy charge you like ripping you apart. My strong advice - take photos of everything, every thing been left in the place even if it is a piece of cloth or a broken blind and its beed. and raise maintenance request and also email it right now to make it a proof for later. Thank me later.

Negative experience: This is, unfortunately, my 3rd time dealing with property agency brand which is part of the Countrywide group. This time, because of the previous 2 incidents, I didn't fall for their whatever plot. I enquired a property on Right Move, a few days later I received a call from this branch asking for my Whatsapp number, because they want to send me the video of the property before they arrange a viewing. I said I am very interested about this property and I need to see it, why the video? They then wall up and said "so do you have Whatsapp" I then confirmed with them if they are part of the Countrywide group, they said yes. I said do you need a holding deposit BEFORE you send out the application? They said yes. I said this is the 3rd time I am dealing with your mother group and each time I was for some reason not being able to proceed with my application after the payment, passing the application and passing the reference. And one of your mate still owes me £242 till today. They said they are from Nottingham, maybe it was a different story, and asked me who did I applied with. I said Frank Innes in Mapperley, I can even forward the whole chain of email as proof. They slipped and admitted that "yes it is one of them". Then I said when can I go see the place or not? Then they said let's catch up another day! Then hung up on me. And disappeared in the thin air. Avoid Countrywide group, and I still don't know why I have to give Whatsapp.

Fantastic experience: Overall, this agency is great. I booked a viewing at short notice, and the properties they manage are very good and well-maintained. I made a lot of amendments to my contract, and Oscar was patient and helpful throughout the process. Sophie did my key handover, and the paperwork was very helpful too.

Negative experience: Disappointed with this estate agency. Rang a number of times about a property on Gregory Avenue , Nottingham as far back as July, was not getting much of a response despite leaving my details to be kept informed of the property when it came to market properly as apparently a viewing could not be arranged yet. However despite not getting calls back, i kept on ringing and then was assured i would be informed when the property would be available. There seemed to be limited interest in responding to my calls/messages left. The last message being left over a week ago. Then saw that it came onto the Rightmove website and today i rang and was told it had been sold. Feel sorry for the seller who has probably got shortchanged as i was willing to pay a lot more than it was priced at, even if there was more than one prospective purchaser. Spoke to Kofi who provided an inadequate explanation. He thought me wanting to get informed about the property/viewing details was requiring special treatment (Customer Care training clearly required for this assistant manager!) Being a buyer and seller of property regularly ,won't be using them nor recommending them. Sellers beware!

Fantastic experience: I've been meaning to write this review for ages now! A month ago, I moved into my new flat - let by Bairstowe Eves - with the help of Georgia. She was incredible all the way through the processes, taking the time to ensure I was kept in the loop of next steps/changes/what was needed to ensure I was successful in 1) securing the flat, 2) completing the needed paperwork and 3) moving in smoothly and swiftly! She was seriously helpful, throughful and friendly throughout and has been a real pleasure to chat with all the way through the process. As someone who hadn't moved house in 6 years, I was a bit nervous and slightly overcommunicative on my end - but she had all the patience in the world for me. She even gave me a little goodie box when I moved in, which I thought was the sweetest touch to move in with. Now I am exploring mortgage options through Bryony, their in-house mortgage specialist (linked with Countrywide). I feel well informed, although early in the process, and look forward to learning more about the process! All in all, Bairstowe Eves appears to be a brilliant one stop shop for all things lettings and sales. I've enjoyed all the interactions I've had so far with folks from their Nottingham Central office! Thanks again!
