Fantastic experience: We sold our Victorian period village property with Jackson Stops this year completing the sale in 6 months despite 2 chain breakdowns. From initial valuations we immediately sensed JS were the right estate agent for us, supported by strong recommendations from people we trust. After instruction all processes were very professional and efficient with the house marketed within a few days with excellent details and photography. Our process took quite a while, no fault of theirs, and they couldn’t do enough to help. Fantastic experience: Jackson Stops were amazing and sold our house in 2 days. Robert and Natalie were by our side throughout . They sold another house for us 4 years ago again in 2 days. We would never go anywhere else to sell a house.

Negative experience: I know this is all part of the “game” but I couldn’t with good conscience ever recommend Jackson Stops to a friend or family member, particularly as a buyer. If you are a seller with questionable morals, then maybe they are for you. The agent we dealt with was a personal friend of the seller which may put a different perspective on the situation but we put an asking price offer in the day of viewing. Despite no other offers being on the table, we were asked for more money, as we had already sold our house and wanted to move quickly we raised our offer despite bidding against ourselves, again more money was requested! We had a frank conversation and asked what it would take. A number was given and we said yes on the condition the house was taken off the market, this was accepted. Deal done, hard negotiation from Jackson Stops but good work from them, no complaints at this stage, they were acting in their sellers best interests. The issue came 3 weeks after our offer was accepted. After we had mentally moved in, made building plans, paid for searches and surveys and shown our kids around. We were informed another bid, somehow over our significantly above asking price offer, had been submitted (despite being off the market) and unless we were willing to increase our offer, we would lose the property. Whilst I know gazumping isn’t illegal, it shows a compete lack of morals from all involved and 3 weeks after the accepted offer in my mind shows they had gone back on their word and were clearly still marketing the property. I was unwilling to reward this type of behaviour by increasing my bid further and pulled out. I’m sure this will be denied and they will claim they have acted with integrity and honour. I’d never purchase a Jackson stops property in the future and wouldn’t even sell via them, whilst clearly they do have their seller best interest at heart, doing so at the expense of morals is not the type of company I would want to work with. They even gave us a speech about how “in their experience things like this always happen for the best” Horrible experience and whilst I recognise the seller has a part to play, it is Jackson Stops who bear the brunt of this horrid experience.

Negative experience: Well, not sure where to start but at first interaction I thought professional, credible and personable until we realised the game they were playing behind the scenes. We went through some negotiation with the seller, fine, get that this is part of the process. Our significantly above asking price offer was finally accepted, with a condition it was taken off the market. After three weeks, we asked if we could show ours kids around and so we did. Despite knowing we would do this, they had been negotiating with other offers and told us on Monday (3 weeks after our offer was accepted) that they had a formal offer through from another seller. Whilst I appreciate they have a legal right to do this, I think they have a moral obligation to let us know especially as we’re showing our kids around that weekend. They then asked us to go into a bidding war for a house we had already had an offer accepted for. They had said that the person had given a written offer which is bizarre considering they never asked us for anything in writing and my agent had advised to write in so they responded to our offer in the first place as communication with this agent was nonexistent! This shows how this company works - underhand and unprofessional

They were extremely helpful right from our first viewing - Margaret showed us round twice and was very nice and professional and answered all questions we had. Robert and Natalie showed professionalism and did an amazing job in every aspect of our purchase, were very helpful and friendly, they provided updates all the time even though the estate agents we used to sell our home weren't great at all. If I had any worries or questions I needed answering urgently, I got in contact with Natalie rather than our own estate agents as she always knew what was going on even for the sale of our house. Purchasing a house is classed as the most stressful thing you can do however, they made us feel at ease at all times. The collection of keys was great and the bottle of champagne and the 'Jackson Stops' bag just topped it all off, even the little touches like the keyring on the keys was just perfect. Fantastic experience: I never write reviews but I felt it was just following my recent experience with Jackson-Stops. My opinion on estate agents is that they generally lack attention to detail, are inefficient in responding and are usually unwilling to help - a sausage factory experience where you are just a number, I hate dealing with them, period. Teresa Ryan has completely changed my outlook on the whole experience when sourcing a rental property. The Jackson-Stops Northampton branch has been nothing but fantastic for my recent property rental. Teresa responded to my rental enquiry very promptly to book a viewing. At the appointment, Teresa was very kind and took the time to show me the entire property explaining what it had to offer in a viewing that lasted 1.5 hours. Her attention to detail was amazing and nothing was too much of an ask. Following the viewing, she effectively and quickly liaised with the landlord to answer all of my questions and negotiated a complicated contract on my behalf. I'm looking forward to moving into a property knowing that Teresa is always on hand to deal with any issues that may arise in the future. Great work Teresa - keep up the good work!!

Fantastic experience: Jackson Stops have been a pleasure to deal with for both the selling of our property and viewing potential new homes and then the purchase of our new home. We had previously had our house for sale with two other local well known estate agents, one of which offered appalling service throughout, were rude and really couldn't be bothered to help is in any way with our sale and with viewing potential properties through them. Indeed their lack of service and professionalism lost us our sale in the run up to exchange of contracts. Fantastic experience: Jackson-Stops were superb in my recent house purchase - from start to finish they were so attentive, collaborative, informative. Working in true partnership to make a stressful situation as simple, clear and 'relaxed' as possible really helped - the key aspect being regular communication on the selling and purchasing aspects. From the moment that the team showed us around the property to the moment of moving in (and everything in between) was wonderful. During the purchasing process the team brokered discussions between ourselves and the sellers - to help us prepare. Also the week before the team were able to facilitate a meeting with the sellers to ask 'property and location' familiarisation (we met physically with the sellers for 1/2 a day) - this was worth its weight in gold (as they gave us the low down on the area we were moving into - including taking us to meet our new neighbours etc.). The team also added a lovely extra for us - I shipped some moving in items (Champagne, cards etc) that were placed into the new property before we moved in - so when we got there my wife and family had a lovely memory of our new home with some lovely celebration items inside it.... lovely touch and made an excellent powerful starting memory for our new home..... Post moving in also the team have made some follow-up calls to ensure all is ok for us. The team were excellent - specifically Robert and Natalie..... but I know there is also several others that helped and assisted to make the whole thing come together well. Would highly recommend Jackson-Stops
