Fantastic experience: This isn’t a review for the whole of Chelton brown but I just wanted to leave a review for Mel who comes to our house. Even though we’ve only met her a couple of times and she’s new(ish). She’s such a breath of fresh air and it’s comfortable and nice to welcome her into our home. Doesn’t feel evasive or like we’re under a microscope which is really horrible when you’re trying to make a home. Mel is friendly and approachable, thorough and does as she says she will. The process hasn’t changed it’s just great to have someone respectful, professional, calm and like I said approachable. A credit to Chelton brown.

Negative experience: Shocking service from the rental team, they dont follow up on prospective tenants, they dont follow up on existing tenants. Super lazy. Especially Grace who refuses to do whats best for the landlords

Fantastic experience: From my initial viewing of the property to getting an agreement in place, the whole team at Chelton Brown were very helpful, responsive, and kept me updated with progress through the process. Everyone I dealt with, Grace, Millie, Laura, Matthew have all been great.

Negative experience: Shocking from a rental perspective - any repairs needed take forever, leave boiler issues for months including faulty gas valves!!! Failed to uphold their commitment of improvements where they ‘sold the dream’ on viewing (25 year old worn carpet!). Fraudulently fiddled the inventory, inventory in very vague photos but out they wanted to zoom in to manipulate the report, refused to accept evidence supplied to prove improvement out vs when took the property on. Untrained, unapproachable, rude, argumentative staff that are full of attitude let alone the shocking management!!! Ooo and finally buy a house, give them notice to get a barrage of arguments back about when we will exit the property, try manipulate the contract terms and when you play their card back at them they get their backs up against the wall. Utter joke of a company and one I will now never touch - fortunately I’ve now brought a property (not that they congratulated that) but even then, I won’t be using these if we decide to sell/buy again purely down to the poor show from their letting division so they have lost our future business in the sales division now too!! Absolutely joke.

Negative experience: Can I bring to your attention that you are showing your Google rating to be 5.0 on your website, currently you are at 4.2. It has been a difficult 4 months since you took over the Management of this site. Hopefully this will improve moving forward given your eventual recognition of the previously long standing Lodge Owners Association.

Negative experience: Poor no gas central heating more like storage heating!! They are the worst lettings agents ever!! 4 years I lived in my home and left due to family circumstances! I cleaned the carpets painted every wall and cleaned everything yet they took £95 off my deposit! It took two weeks of me hounding them to get it back. I put new vinyl in bathroom because a rodent got In and chewed the bath waste I didn’t charge the landlord ! The kitchen sink waste flooded I put new vinyl down ! My partner fixed both leaks at our cost and yet they take money fro me !! Never ever rent through these guys they will rip you off and als take images of your personal pictures and post them for the world to see ! Never again Cowboys

Positive experience: We were slightly anxious about relocating a long way from Scotland to a completely unknown place with my new born baby but the members of staff from the agency were very understanding and provided with precise guidance in renting the property of my first choice. There professionalism was outstanding and they tried to make our move as pleasant as possible, flexible in handing the house keys at the time that suits us the best. Fantastic experience: Our tenants wanted some information and help on how they could park their car at the carpark on site. The process to call someone was easy and responsive, and within less that half an hour they was given the details and a very informative guide on how to set up an account for the parking company's portal to register their car. I was also given a copy so our contractors to use it and ourselves. Very impressed, it's not often in my experience that I deal with a block management company that is so responsive and helpful. Toni was very helpful and efficient...super impressed and helped make my job easier in the process.

Negative experience: They failed to update me regarding my viewing appointment, I wasted hours of travel for nothing. I had an appointment, and the property was let agreed, they hadn't informed or canceled my appointment, left me confused, had to wait for them to open office, and I myself had to cross check with them if the viewing is still happening or not, and it was NOT, and they did NOT update me on this. Wasted money on train and travel. -1

Negative experience: Had the misfortune of having to contact the agency where i was greeted by two ladies having a tantrum. I would have expected a bit of professionalism and respect, may have expected too much. Will search for a more professional and customer centred agency.

Negative experience: I bought a property and the paperwork is not in order. The solicitors I used were recommended by them. Now, I am incurring financial losses because of them. I intend to take them and their solicitors through civil court claim. I do not put names here but they have stopped responded to emails and phone calls. I would suggest independent landlords and property buyers to be careful with them.

Fantastic experience: Both David and Shah, we extremely helpful and supportive during my first house purchase. Shah was excellent at helping the sale progress and gaining updates from both mine and the seller's solicitors. He really helped to achieve a smooth and quick purchase. David was very accomodating in allowing me to visit the property after my offer had been accepted and for keeping me updated about the key release and collection on the day of completion. Everyone I spoke to at the Chelton Brown Northampton office, was helpful and courteous and I would highly recommend them for any sales or purchases. Negative experience: f there was rating zero or negative i would have done that , absolutely ridiculous agency , i left the property and paid 300 as end of tenancy cleaning and this agency deducted for the 220 for not appropriately cleaning the kitchen sink, further charged 220 for mowing lawn in winters , day light robbery and blackmailing because they have your deposit . If you happen to rent through them , take pictures first day and email them because they want you to handover a new home after living in it . If rent is day late you will get threatening emails and they keep your deposits for weeks shamelessly without a word of apology .

Fantastic experience: We moved to Australia from Northampton in 2006, but later bought a property in Bugbrooke, Northamptonshire, which we let via our Agents Chelton Brown, who were superb in property management, and they looked after the property, until we sold it through their equally superb Sales Department in November 2022 ! We cannot recommend Chelton Brown, highly enough as either letting or selling agents, with highly enthusiastic & professional staff throughout the company, who communicated very well with us, even though we lived 14,000 miles away !

Fantastic experience: I’ve been searching for properties throughout Rightmove, I have also registered myself in many local Agencies. Chelton Brown was the one who was outstanding with they customer support. I was a first time buyer, Chris Wilson and George Marshal was showing me the property and both was really nice and having so much patience with all the questions I have asked . And I have to admit I was quiet inpatient and was calling them for an update all the time .
