Negative experience: I do not recommend as a management company. Previous negative reviews I noticed seem to dissappear. They claimed PM lettings is a separate business and made a different Google page, even though it's all under the same roof, same staff and same website!! No other estate agent does this. And PM stands for Pollard Machin! Ignore emails or just stop replying and do not take maintenance issues seriously. Have to resort to calling in which they confirm they received emails but never explain why you are always the bottom of the pile. Mike seems to be the worst at this.

Negative experience: We used Pollard Machin to manage our rental property while we were living on the other side of the world. Because we were not local, we relied entirely on them to be our eyes and ears, paying them a significant percentage of the rent in management fees to ensure our interests were protected. Overall the management was okay, but we were very disappointed with the end-of-tenancy checkout. A high-value mirror and an oak bookcase were taken by the tenants. These missing items were actually listed in the 50-page third-party checkout report with the note: 'Landlord to advise if removed'. Despite this being a clear red flag, the agency failed to highlight it in their high-level summary email, focusing only on cleaning. Being abroad, we trusted their summary was a faithful representation of the property’s state—especially given the high fees we were paying for their professional oversight. By the time the discrepancy was realised, the agency offered no real accountability or gesture of goodwill, simply a 'sorry about that.' If you are an overseas landlord, be aware that you will still need to scrutinise every line of a 50-page report yourself, as major losses may not be flagged to you.

Fantastic experience: I absolutely hated the process of buying and selling my place .. and there were several hiccups.. I was fortunate enough to be selling via Pollard Machin and having the fantastic Ann support me.. she was able to explain solicitor speel to me, negotiate and communicate on my behalf and help push for solutions on problems that were dragging between solicitors. I found her fair, very professional, knowledgeable and empathic! Thanks Again Ann!

Fantastic experience: This was the second time we'd used Pollard Machin - the first time when we were selling my late mother's flat a couple of years ago, when, within three weeks of placing it on the market, Pollard Machin obtained an offer (which eventually led to a sale) substantially over the asking price. This time we were selling our home of over 40 years, a 1920s semi-detached property which, while desirable, needed updating and modernising. Pollard Machin suggested a price to reflect this, and, again within less than a month, an offer was accepted. When this unfortunately fell through, the property was placed back on the market and shortly afterwards an offer close to the asking price was made, leading eventually to a sale. The impressive thing is that, although Pollard Machin are based slightly away from our area, they performed very well - a similar property across the road has been on the market with a local estate agent for nearly a year and is still unsold. Throughout the process we were kept informed, with regular phone calls and updates. It was so useful to have a named point of contact, and we would have no hesitation in recommending this estate agent - in fact we've just put a friend with a property to sell in touch with them! Thank you so much for everything.

Negative experience: They used us to bump up someone else's offer, wasting us two weeks. A total lack of transparency and ethics. Reply to the EA: It's your point of view. From mine is that without the blink of an eye you (and your client) dumped us as soon as it was convenient. BTW, I hope the buyer knows that the neighbour from 27 is going to build a house at the back, but I guess that's not included in the brochure...

Friendly ..not pushy .helpful and professional in all aspects ..any problems I knew I only had to make a call and my worries where laid to rest . A real family feel and all staff very approachable. Sold my house within a week ..had potential buyers lined up waiting and organised the viewings around me . Happy to leave staff in my home as I knew they where trustworthy. Very reasonable in the cost.and to be honest I went to them as I had experienced other estate agents who do the hard sale ..not an attractive quality and very off putting . Pollard machin do no hard sale and are very honest about the real value to expect on the sale of your home. Chris was smart friendly honest and knowledgeable a pleasure to deal with .
