Fantastic experience: The staff here have all been very helpful and quite proactive. There were some negotiations to be had with a couple of potential buyers, which was handled expertly by Sophie, and then when it came to the key part of the transaction with an issue holding up exchange just days before completion - Anita stepped up and helped to guide the buyers through the process. This is why a good estate agent is worth paying for, rather than skimping on the on-line only outfits.

Fantastic experience: I recently purchased a property from Starkey & Brown, as a first-time buyer, the entire process was smooth and stress-free thanks to the incredible support from Angie and Georgi. Anya initially showed me around the property, followed by second and third viewings with Vicky. From start to finish, they were professional, attentive, and extremely helpful. Fantastic experience: Couldn’t ask for more - Starkey and brown sold my 2 bedroom house earlier this year. I was consulted on the photos and brochure and they had lots of local knowledge about the village (Skellingthorpe). It was initially sold close to asking price within two weeks of going on the market. The sell fell through (no fault of theirs) and they managed to have it sold again and I was moved quickly. They were very personable and whoever I spoke to on the phone had an awareness of what was going on with the sale of my house so they obviously communicate well as a team.

Having found ourselves needing to sell our family home, remotely, at the end of a lengthy tenancy, we relied heavily on the estate agent network to value, market and ultimately find a buyer for our property. After a number of lower than expected valuations, we chose to approach Starkey & Brown who we had previously used to sell our first family home 13 years prior. David Starkey attended our property and reported back promptly with a much higher valuation than any competitor, but most notably, a level of passion and enthusiasm that immediately reminded us why we first chose them all those years ago. The valuation was realistic, with both a market price and a target sale price, provided to us in a manner that gave us confidence that our home would be marketed respectfully and passionately. The first viewing came in less than a week, immediately followed by a second with a subsequent offer. The team (Ben, Sophie, Anita and Suz) were very communicative throughout all stages of the negotiations and sale and I could not lavish them with any more praise. I would highly recommend Starkey & Brown to ANYONE looking to sell a house in the Lincolnshire area; they have a personal touch that is now becoming so rare to find in estate agents. Fantastic experience: This is a very late review as I sold a property with you nine months ago.I felt I wanted to write a review because a property in the road I live in has just gone up with the agent I originally used my first thoughts were o dear. I originally had a valuation from you and the other Estate agent and unfortunately decided to go with the other agent what a mistake that was. I had Frazer Cobb out to value my property and he was very helpful. The other Estate agent got me no viewings except on the last day when I was swopping to Starkey and Brown. When I changed to Starkey and Brown I got four viewings and two offers the day after it went on Rightmove, One at near asking price and one at asking price admittedly I had lowered the price slightly on moving agents. I was not pushed to do this by Fraser he would have gone at the same asking price that was my choice. So thank you Fraser, Sophie for negotiating the sale and Angie for progressing the sale.

Used these guys to sell quite a small property which was tenanted so a little trickier to deal with and coordinate viewings etc. Ben was brilliant from start to finish and his valuation was spot on. Negative experience: My late mother's 3 bedroom, well maintained, if slightly dated, detached bungalow with ensuite, she was 95 when she died, has been listed by Starkey and Brown since March 2023. The sale being arranged by my brother. So far, not even one offer. I'm sorry, but I don't believe the property is so awful, that some positive selling would not have secured a sale. Price already much reduced. New kitchen, new bathroom, conservatory, what's so unusual about buyers negotiating the price on an otherwise very acceptable property if those are needed? Starkey and Brown advertise extensively locally their expertise. I would never, ever recommend them if selling a property.

Fantastic experience: After a long marketing campaign through difficult times for sellers, S&B found several buyers for our house, when the market improved. I am very pleased overall. They had a structured and reasonable approach to valuation based on the square metres of land and other features, and they were right ! I am glad I was not tempted to go with agents that proposed a much lower starting price to begin with.

The property was on the market with two agents, but we chose Starkey and Brown specifically after a bad experience as former renters with the other agent. Fantastic experience: Although Starkey & Brown were not acting for us in the sale of our property, they were extremely helpful in keeping us up to date with the purchase of our new property & also advice on what to do about our sale, a lot more than our actual estate agents were. In particular Angela Powel was really helpful. We wont be moving again but if we were we would definitely use Starkey & Brown.

From the first conversation, Angie was professional and friendly. She clearly explained the next steps and kept us informed throughout the entire purchase. Angie was fantastic at chasing up the seller's side, ensuring a smooth flow of communication. Her proactive approach meant we were not left waiting or wondering about what was happening next. Unfortunately, it took some time for our purchase to progress due to delays with the seller's chain. The lack of communication from their solicitors was causing a lot of stress, especially with delays in the seller’s chain. Had we not had Angie chasing updates and proactively contacting other parties involved, we would have walked away. Angie did not just chase updates; she suggested the eventual fix to the issue holding the completion up. Her expertise in handling communication between all parties was invaluable. There were times when we were not sure whether we would ever complete, but Angie was always patient and happy to answer all our questions, no matter how small. Her constant reassurance and proactive approach were a lifesaver. Thanks to Angie's dedication, clear communication, and problem-solving skills, we finally have a completion date and could not be happier. We cannot recommend her highly enough!

From the initial arrangement of the viewing, to paperwork to getting our offer in to buyin g the property and completion, Angie was helpful, communicated with us on time, all the time (unlike our Solictors!) and despite doing this all day, every day, was jsut as excited for us when we went in to get the keys!
