Negative experience: Horrendous experience – I would not recommend at all. Our offer on a property was provisionally accepted, and we were moving forward on the basis that we were selling our own property to purchase it. Despite this, the seller later accepted another offer. What made the situation worse was that Whitegates did not contact us to inform us – we had to find out indirectly. When we were eventually told, the staff member was rude and showed no compassion, despite being aware that we had already begun progressing our own sale based on the purchase. Another concern was being told that our offer would need to be “validated” by Indigo Mortgages. We were then contacted by someone claiming to be from Indigo, who later said they were actually calling from Whitegates. This felt misleading and raised serious concerns about transparency. Since then, we have also been informed that offers may only be put forward if you use their associated mortgage broker, which makes us question whether our offer was ever genuinely presented to the seller despite being told it had been provisionally accepted. Overall, extremely disappointing service and a very unprofessional experience. I would strongly suggest that buyers consider other estate agents.

Negative experience: i left a message for one of your team about viewing a property as i'm looking to buy my first home, the person who called me back seemed very cold and not really that interested as i didnt have something specific i was looking for. when i asked to book the viewing i requested they told me unless i send my mortgage AIP over they wouldnt book this as i told her i wasnt interested in speaking to your advisors about the available rates. Don't know if you get many timewasters and this might be why you ask for this but don't tar everyone with the same brush! Ended the call feeling very negative about the whole interaction.

We went with Whitegates as it was in the local area and has been established for many years, Bernie started us off on the path of getting on the market and could not of made it easier . Negative experience: Just awful - please avoid this estate agent. Apply pressure tactics, lie about property, pressure buyers, care only about themselves. AVOID ALL WHITEGATES!!

Negative experience: Won't allow you to view unless you book an appointment with their mortgage advisor I wouldn't recommend anyone to sell through them as this is really bad practice. I've bought / sold many properties as an investor and rarely encountered this tactic This was for an empty property that has been on the market for sometime with this agent and has had a a price reduction due to no sale. Not surprised if people cannot view it! I wonder if the vendor is aware!!!

Negative experience: If I could give 0 stars I would. I cannot stress to you, how terrible the letting agents are. In my experience: consistently rude, unhelpful and very clearly do not care about the tenants. They were very happy to allow my sister to live in a mould and slug infested home for years on end with little to no intervention or help. The only suggestion was to increase ventilation (which we were doing anyway). They should be ashamed.

Fantastic experience: My parents are at the very beginning of selling the home that they have lived in for decades and it is undoubtedly a necessary but stressful experience for them both. It was such a pleasure to meet James and he was the perfect person to put them at ease and reassure them that he would do all he could to make the process as seamless as possible. He had just the right amount of professionalism but a kind, sensitive and personal approach with plenty of humour in there too. James made choosing which estate agent to trust very easy and it was because of him, we chose Whitegates. Negative experience: don't call them, they are very slow, they are not professional, I wanted to rent a commercial space from them, they placed me from one to another, emails sent so that I can see a commercial space with appointments in a few weeks, seriously? so much trouble to see a space with the potential to rent it and they did nothing

They sold my personal information after I got an email from them where I could get a ‘free online evaluation of my home.’ Stupidly I thought I’d have a look and put in my phone and email. I’ve since been getting on average 6 spam calls per day and a ton of spam emails. Thanks Whitegates. FYI the evaluation was way off (unsurprisingly)

Positive experience: I mainly dealt with James at the West Derby branch and found him to be friendly, professional and helpful. The only negative comment I would make is that towards the end of the sale I had very little contact from Whitegates and no official thank you/receipt for payment.
