Negative experience: Completely incompetent, have phoned 5 times over 4 different days in relation to a simple viewing request for a rental property. Despite leaving my phone number and email address to numerous individuals, nobody from their letting department has been able to respond.

Positive experience: Well we got it sold in the end. The going was tough at times with two buyers dropping out and final buyers dragging their feet at every point. However I can’t blame the agent for this. I do particularly want to thank my ex-pupils: Rohini and Ben (!) for all they did in the long journey towards a sale. Christina was also lovely and at times had to counsel us through! I’ll save my best praise however, for Sarah who lived the end of the voyage with us. She was able to negotiate all the fine detail using her superb diplomatic skills and empathy. She could be high up in the Civil Service by now! Fantastic experience: I went to Robert Cooney after a different estate Agent based in Taunton and in over 6 weeks they didn't even get me a viewing. So I looked around and rang a few alternatives. Positive experience: We've just experienced both sides of the house moving process with Robert Cooney, selling our old house through them and buying one also marketed by them. I've given a four star rating because, despite Rohini and Ben providing an excellent five star service leading up to offers being accepted, we were then handed off to Sarah, who we didn't feel was as on the ball. I won't go into details, suffice to say that phone calls and emails were not always answered, and things that needed chasing were not always chased. That said, from offer acceptance to moving took 12 weeks, so we can't complain too much.

Negative experience: As first-time homebuyers, my partner and I recently had an incredibly disappointing encounter with Gail that left us feeling misled and disheartened. Our experience began optimistically as we embarked on the journey of finding our dream home. However, it quickly turned sour due to Gail's unethical practices and lack of transparency. We were persuaded to stretch beyond our initial budget to submit an offer on a property, assuring us that it was a promising opportunity worth pursuing. Our offer was accepted. Despite our reservations, we trusted Gail's expertise and enthusiasm. We were told there was no interest in the house and no other parties involved. Little did we know, she was well aware of another party who had instructed her to notify them of any offers on the same property—a crucial detail she conveniently neglected to disclose to us. Essentially, we were just used to open the bidding. Encouraged by Gail's persuasion, we proceeded to take significant steps such as instructing a solicitor and arranging mortgage meetings, investing time and effort into what we believed was a genuine opportunity. However, our hopes were dashed when Gail informed us that our offer had been outbid, leaving us feeling exploited and disillusioned. In hindsight, it is evident that Gail knowingly leading us on a futile pursuit to benefit another buyer. Her actions not only wasted our time and resources but also inflicted emotional distress. We were only made aware of the new bidder after we contacted her after being left in the dark. Overall, our experience with Gail was profoundly disappointing. Although we are fully aware agents act in favour of the client, as first-time buyers, we had hoped for guidance and support in navigating the complexities of the property market, but instead, we were met with divisiveness and used as a pawn in her game to attract higher bids. Communication was fantastic up until the point we put an offer in and then it was non-existent with us having to chase for updates throughout the rest of the process. We would strongly advise others to exercise caution when dealing with Gail and to seek out more ethical professionals in their search for a home.

Fantastic experience: Their customer’s services is , response & monitoring of any repair u have in earnest is top notch , I never had regrets in choosing Robert Cooney ,Kudos to all your wonderful and working team .

Negative experience: We soon realised that Robert Cooney were offering a very poor service. We bought the house despite them not with help from them. Communication was atrocious, often incorrect and very slow. We had asked for a gas certificate shortly after we had our offer was confirmed, our Solicitor and our estate agent also repeatedly requested this and I finally arranged a gas engineer to do this within days of exchange. They say they are looking after their seller but on many occasions i felt this was not the case. When I asked during our first viewing what could Gail tell us about the house Gail’s comment was well they lived here 40 years and had not done anything to it. This was while I was outside looking at the marks where insulation had been inserted in the walls and I had just seen a fairly new shower room. Surely you have answers to questions before showing a property. Also no idea where the loft hatch was and very flippant. Rohini again very little help. When we asked for a second viewing with a builder she arrived late then after 1/4 hour said you have 10 minutes as I have to be somewhere else. A third viewing was needed to complete the information we required. That was when it was pointed out a viewing is 20 minutes long. Sarah rang and pressured me to give a date we wanted to move on, so my hopes were up that we were on the move. I contacted my solicitor to advise the chosen date and he advised she can’t make that decision as the checks and queries were not complete and it is not something the agent can decide on. It was that point I decided I would not speak to them again. We were considering not buying the property because of Robert Cooney as we felt unsure if they were poor at their job or hiding something about the property. I would not recommend dealing with them.

The valuation and marketing strategy was spot on and there was no shortage of viewers and offers. Fantastic experience: From the day our house went on the market with Robert Cooney, we couldn't fault the service we received. Gail was totally fab. Her enthusiasm for selling our house and the speed with which she did so, was impressive. Sarah, the Sale Progressor, who took over as soon as we sold our property (day 10), was equally impressive. Fantastic experience: The team working at Robert Cooney helped maneuver the sale of the house through, what I would consider, a difficult purchase with a demanding and awkward purchaser. The sale went through, after a lot of 'toing and froing', and was a great relief when exchange and completion happened on the same day!!

Negative experience: Avoid this agent if you are a buyer, because unfortunately they don't seem intelligent enough to know that if the buyer pulls out, they won't have a done deal or, of course, the commission. I've bought properties in different places, and this one with Robert Cooney has been the worst. They keep pushing for the seller to complete transaction without showing respect for the buyer or the fact that the process isn't the most straightforward. In fact, it's the seller's solicitor who wasn't cooperative. Good job the deal is off, because the market is going further down.
