Positive experience: The lady I met at the property, failed to engage in what I was interested in, told me what she thought, of no help whatsoever. The young negotiator I spoke to having been hounded for feeding back, was aggressive, unprofessional & I asked not to speak with him again. An older gentleman who works on property progression or some such title, has been helpful, chatty, generally to the point & is good at what he does. If every company put more time into training & less time into reading reviews, the work rate would double, with better results!!

Negative experience: GTH mixed up the keys to our new home. They ignorantly sent us off with someone else keys and had the vendor post his set through the door. It soon became apparent that we didn’t have the right keys and had to go back and forth with the office before eventually they arranged a locksmith. This meant we were delayed by two hours and added extra stress to what otherwise had been a very smooth house move of leaving our old house. We were also left with just one door key and a loose door handle to our new home. The locksmith said he will do all he can to not break the door. It was disappointing that GTH sent an apprentice down to collect the wrong keys as this should have been their opportunity to properly apologise. We have since written to GTH to complain about this incompetence and lack of customer care. Again, the reply was unexpected and disappointing as their words and actions don’t match. They say they take these matters seriously. Hmm. How?! And went on to say, “Rarely do we have problems with keys so this was very much a one off.” Rarely?! I would trust and hope that most agents can confidently say they never have a problem with keys. We certainly can’t and won’t be recommending GTH to people we know. And when it comes to moving again ourselves we would not engage their services or consider any GTH properties for sale because of the key incident, how they dealt with the matter and their poor communication. We can however, recommend local agent TRG Lawrence who we have used to both buy and sell a property.

Fantastic experience: Great from viewing through to purchase! We were shown round a property for sale by GTH. We considered the pricing fair and the viewing agent knowledgeable. After having our offer accepted, GTH kept us informed every step of the way and were proactive at phoning solicitors and up and down the chain to get the sale down. Would recommend!

Negative experience: A truly lazy estate agent. Extremely poor service with even worst communication. Unfortunately this site does not allow me to leave zero stars. GTH were unable to support viewings and often their communication was 7 to 10 days out of date based upon the updates received from both the sellers and purchasers Solicitors. William Cosgrove, who holds the role of "Sales Progressor" did nothing to help orchestrate the exchange or completion of the sale despite pretending to his colleagues he was involved. GTH brand boasts to be one of the 'exclusive' estate agents on the high street, unfortunately they brought zero value to the engagement. They dragged the whole process out to In the end to get to the point of completion we facilitated direct discussion between the purchaser and sellers, bypassing the estate agent in totality. Go to Humberts or Fine and Country estate agents if you are truly considering selling your home.

Fantastic experience: A couple of months ago, we purchased a property through GTH. They provided a fantastic service and we'll definitely be using them again in future. Their communications were clear, they were easy to reach over the phone and they actively supported us throughout the whole process. From my initial visit to the gth office in Taunton to discuss their possible involvement in the sale of my property to the exchange (yesterday) all personnel at gth have been a pleasure to deal with. They have responded promptly and sensitively with all aspects of the sale, and liaised very efficiently with both myself and my conveyancing solicitors. The property sold had its complicating elements: these were navigated and dealt with in an exemplary fashion. Lastly, the personnel involved were always polite, helpful and friendly. The commission rate is competitive too!

Negative experience: We’ve had the most terrible experience whilst renting with GTH. From finding the place to checking out, it really was the worst. Richard, who is their head of maintenance is the rudest man I’ve ever had to encounter. There is nothing worse than having a man condescendingly shouting at you while you have Covid and trying to solve an issue. Their maintenance department as a whole we found to be severely incompetent, taking months to solve the simplest issue. We had issues when checking out as well. They confirmed via email that we left the place spotless but they are still going to charge us xxx amount because they wanted to have the carpets professionally cleaned. When I mentioned we will dispute this via TDS, we got our full deposit back. Do not rent with GTH. They treat their tenants really poorly and we found them to be unprofessional and their team poorly trained.

Fantastic experience: Bill, (William Cosgrove ) the sales progressor went above & beyond his duty in managing to nurse a reluctant chain to exchange of contracts, with dogged pursuit of everyone in the line who needed to do their bit to keep everything going in the right direction. His communication has been personable, encouraging & accurate on every occasion. He has been mindful of the expectations & needs of everyone & managed those with sensitivity & calm. We are grateful for his professionalism.
