Negative experience: I’m amending my original positive review for mortgage advisor Almantas after a very disappointing experience. For over a year, I’ve been trying to get in touch with him regarding a new mortgage. Last year before Christmas, he said he would get back to me with my options, but I’ve since sent several emails and made countless phone calls with no response. As a result of being ignored, my fixed rate ended, and at the beginning of the year I ended up paying nearly three times more on my mortgage for two months. I was told that by signing up with Cornell’s, I would always receive the best support and service as a “mortgage broker for life,” meaning I wouldn’t need to pay full fees again. Unfortunately, that promise turned out to be untrue. Being ignored is one of the worst forms of customer service, and this experience has left me extremely disappointed. If you can’t or don’t want to assist, just be honest and say so. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this service to anyone.

Negative experience: After making an initial enquiry, I have since received multiple follow-up calls — eight in total — including some outside of standard working hours. I informed the first person I spoke to that I no longer required their services, yet the calls have continued. This suggests their system is not being updated correctly, and the repeated, commission-driven follow-ups feel intrusive rather than helpful. It’s the sort of experience that would easily put off a potential client. This really needs to be addressed.

Fantastic experience: Catherine and Ellie were super helpful and got us into our new home quickly and efficiently. They were there to answer any questions and responded to emails quickly. Excellent service and very friendly!

Fantastic experience: We recently went to see Al at Connell a for a mortage advisor appointment, and after a very stressful house buying purchase Al was absolutely amazing with organising and sorting our mortage! We was hesitant to pay for a mortage advisor as many say to go free for it. But for us we decided to pay, and I would never not pay to have the stresses taken away and to have the commitment levels that we had from Al. Even when we were having issues with our chain ( we purchased from another estate agents ) he reassured us and helped us that everything would be okay! And without asking he adjusted our application to ensure we got the best interest deal. Could not recommend him enough! If you are looking for the right person to help along side with the perks. Negative experience: After looking to buying a house and start organising viewing, Connells are by far the worst estate agent in taunton to deal with. Constantly trying to upsell buyers their in house mortgage brokers, which they tried to hard sell on every interaction. Recently found out they’ve been investigated by panorama which did certainly not come as a shock.

Negative experience: Will happily move you into a mouldy flat(painted over) and then charge you a ridiculous amount for a “clean” when you move out. Also get absolutely zero assistance from the people that work there when there is problems. Avoid

Fantastic experience: After a meeting with Al G., we felt confident about our capacity to purchase a property. He explained it well with us and find ways to avail the best mortgage in the market. He issued an AIP the next working day and guided us with the offer process. We met an independent broker and charged us £100 just to look at our capacity to barrow but refused to issue us an AIP. They said they will only issue it if deposit is ready and in the bank for three months. We hope he can help more people like us! Thanks Al!

Negative experience: Waste of money, after paying the financial advisor fee and the solicitors fee, you are not kept up to date with details of the property you are looking to buy, unless you chase for it,misleading information that financial advisor is on training, then he is stating he has been off sick, do not waste your money, over a £1300 wasted, for being a life time client, keep your useless membership card! Emails would prove it all. All is client satisfaction until you pay all the fees No updates regarding other available properties, a total scam !! Reviews on trust pilot for Connels do not lie for sure!! I do not often leave reviews, but thought others should think twice before wasting their money! Thank you for your service, hope others do not get the same service, despite our choice to retract am offer we have made, a contributing factor has been all the hassle that has led to it!

Negative experience: I bought a house marketed by CONNELLS, Taunton. They refused to put forward my offer to the seller until I spoke to their mortgage broker. As I already had a mortgage broker I wanted to stay with I declined their service and they got aggressive and threatening. I shall never buy or sell through them again. Dominic was the most helpful and friendly there - Connells’s greatest asset I can see.

Fantastic experience: Deciding to go with connells to sell our house was the best decision we made! The whole team throughout were so supportive, easy to communicate with and super attentive. Dominic was the main estate agent selling our house and from start to finish nothing was ever too much trouble. We had several issues as most people do, but he only ever had our best interests in mind and never pushed us to make any big decision or do anything that didn’t 100% suit us, even if that made the process slightly longer. We also used the solicitors connells recommended which I would definitely do again! Not only were they really helpful, having Dominic contacting them for us and getting constant updates or pushing them for answer when needed took all the stress away, from what usually is an extremely frustrating process! Fantastic experience: Connells Taunton have been really great with our search for an investment property. Anna was my main key contact and she was always spot on with sending me leads for potential properties. She did an incredible job and pay attention to our requirements. I must say Connells generally do have lovely customer care so times when I couldn't reach Anna the rest of the team made us feel just as comfortable. Even though we eventually found an alternative investment property, I would recommend Connells Taunton team any day, any time. cheers guys.

Fantastic experience: We received excellent service from the team at Connells in Taunton in the sale of our property. They persevered with our sale in very difficult circumstances (national lockdown forcing closure of the branch) but, despite this, they were always highly attentive to our needs and very committed. We would thoroughly recommend Connells based on our own experience of working with them. We did try other means of selling (different local agents, online agents, online auction) but Connells were by far the most professional and responsive. The Manager at the Connells branch in Taunton (Daniel Finberg) was extremely supportive and his efforts in particular resulted in a successful sale.

James and Lauren are efficient, and the procedure for checking tenants has been excellent, as I have had no problems with any of the couples living in my property. it is always easy to contact the team, and everything is dealt with quickly. Being first time buyers & complete novices at the home buying process, it can be a very daunting task. But from day one, we felt we were in very good hands. And the service we received from Sam our mortgage broker was absolutely invaluable.
