We met Chanelle at a property in Worcester, which wasn't right for us, however, in chatting Chanelle mentioned a property in Peopleton which she had just been instructed on and thought it would be ideal for or young family and what we were looking for. We arranged a viewing with Chanelle and loved the house. 4 months later and we are living here. Chanelle was amazing throughout. She kept us updated, liaised with us, our solicitor and did alot of extra leg work to get exchange over the line. Fantastic experience: We had a wonderful experience with Chanelle from free agent 247, although she was the estate agent for the house we were purchasing she helped us through the buying process every step of the way. She informed us at every stage where we were at, she did a weekly chase and check in and was on top of any hiccups that occurred along the way. Negative experience: After listing my property with FreeAgent247, I’m disappointed to be leaving a negative review, but my experience has unfortunately been poor. I chose this company after meeting with Dan, who made a great impression. Dan and the team presented themselves well, produced excellent marketing materials and photos, and were professional in that regard. However, over the course of four months, I was repeatedly asked to host viewings myself. After the first one, I explained that I wasn’t comfortable doing this and asked that the team handle viewings going forward. Despite this, I continued to be asked to host, and when I refused, viewings were often rearranged. From a buyer’s perspective, I think this gives a poor impression. On top of this, I was asked to drive 30 minutes to drop off a key — even though they already had one — because they couldn’t access their offices on a Saturday. I found this unprofessional. I raised my concerns with Dan and the team, who acknowledged they were struggling with demand and short-staffed. The contract I signed states that both parties can agree to a mutual termination, so after acknowledging the service issues, I expected we could simply part ways. Instead, my request was rejected and I was told I’d need to pay £600 to remove the listing before a four-week notice period had passed. To acknowledge the poor service provided but then trying to charge £600 to leave was disappointing and is the reason I’m writing this review. Furthermore, my contractual obligation with FreeAgent247 ended today, and I’m still waiting for my keys to be returned — 13 days after asking for them back. Looking at other reviews, I’m sure Dan and the team do a great job for many clients, but in my case, the experience has not reflected that. Trying to charge £600, as punishment for a substandard service is, in my opinion, very poor practice.

We chose them for no other reason than because of how warm, friendly and approachable Chanelle was compared to other agents we'd been in touch with. This remained the same throughout the entire process, with the addition of clear (and instant!) communication, being constantly on the ball with solicitors and agents within the chain all at the same time as remaining professional. We have already recommended FreeAgent to other people and would definitely use again if we were to move.

Positive experience: We bought our first house through this estate agents back at the start of the year. Our agent was lovely, quick to communicate and was clearly on top of the process. The only issue was, when viewing the house for the second time they let the seller’s mum take us round it, rather than an agent. That in itself wasn’t an issue. But following this interaction, at somepoint it led to the sellers mum being given our contact details without our permission. I assume it was a misunderstanding or the sellers mum lied that we gave permission, but it led to repeated calls and texts from the sellers mum over the sale process which were rude and condescending to the point we considered dropping out. As we are first time buyers she was essentially using her age and experience to bully us. This made it a very stressful time, purely due to her behaviour. Obviously this behaviour is not the fault of the estate agents and ordinarily I wouldn’t have written a review about it. But as this quite negatively impacted the sale process experience, I just wanted to write this as a reflection to next time to directly check with the other party that they had given permission for the details to be passed to the seller. Everything went smoothly on move in day, and an unexpected nice touch of chocolates and fizz were left for us by the agents :) and we’ve been enjoying living in our house since.

Negative experience: I had similar experience with Free Agent, I wouldn’t go into details, but my biggest regret was not knowing which side Free Agent works for the buyers or seller interest? Especially when I paid the fee. I would strongly recommend either don’t use them or get all the facts and figures right before you chose them.

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend Free Agent enough! We sold our house with Free Agent in April after having an awful experience with Connels. We were under time pressure as we were moving location and Daniel, Chanelle and the team were incredible! From the first meeting with Daniel where he honestly valued my house and showed me what else was going in the market, he gave me a lot of background knowledge and made me feel at ease straight away. Daniel and Chanelle then came to do the photos and videos of my property and they were outstanding! I loved the fact that Free Agent do a video for social media as it is very current and properties get much more interest this way! Within 24 hours of my house going on the market, I had 5 viewings booked it! It was insane! My house went online on the Thursday and sold the following a Tuesday! It was previously up with Connels and I had no viewings for 6 weeks! Even once my sale had been confirmed, Chanelle’s communication was second to none. She would regularly send me messages to see if I needed anything from her or if she needed to chase the sellers for anything. Communication was outstanding. As we have now moved down south, we unfortunately won’t get to use Free Agent again but I would use them again in a heart beat and would recommend to anyone selling their house!!
