Fantastic experience: My wife and I recently bought our house via Samuel Wood and got wonderful service from them throughout the conveyancing process. We were in the middle of a complex property chain which at one point collapsed when the person at the top of the chain failed to get her finances in order. It was a very stressful time for us all. Fantastic experience: Samuel Wood (SW) followed up 4 months’ after initially not being selected as sole agent to see how we were progressing with our sale. At that point we were not! Impressed with SW’s initiative we promptly engaged them as a joint agent. Within 1 week we had an offer! From accepting the offer to completion it took just 25 days! An incredible and unusual record by any standard and testament to SW’s tenacity, support, efficiency and professionalism at each stage. We are naturally thrilled with the result and enjoyed working with SW to sell our cottage.

Fantastic experience: I engaged the services of Samuel Wood, from August to December 2020, to sell my property in Shrewsbury. My experience with the team at Samuel Wood was a positive one from start to finish: from the valuation visit, to the quality of the selling details, the scheduling of viewings and the advice and support I received throughout – it was professional and high-quality. As with most house-moving experiences, the sale/purchase transaction can be tricky at times, mine was no different and the sales team really helped to keep the whole chain alive by being involved in helping to clear the blockages when they occurred. From previous experience my general view of estate agents is mixed and not having used Samuel Wood before I was very pleasantly surprised at how good it was. I also think it is a bonus that it is a local company, rather than a branch that has to defer to a head office, and this helped things to happen quicker. Overall a very positive experience and I would use Samuel Wood again (which probably says it all really).

The only estate agent in Shropshire with fully virtual video walkaround of our property as part of the sale. 2) Initial contact with us for property valuation: a) Director visited, b) well prepared with good market knowledge, c) realistic valuation, d) proactive advice to prepare for a quick sale 3) Photo and Video shoot for property sale details: Samuel Woods nominated photographer and virtual tour video maker delivered beyond our expectations. 4) Putting together Property details: a) collaborative process resulting in market leading property details to advertise, b) access to London based office 5) Contact of prospective buyers: proactively identified a number of current clients who accurately fitted the profile of buyers for our property, not buyers who wasted everyone's time. 6) Viewings process: Samuel Wood nominated viewings colleague lived in the area with local knowledge to help with prospective buyers queries, and he met with us to discuss the viewing process of our property before viewings commenced, and gave us feedback directly post all viewings. 7) Sales negotiation: a) skilled negotiation to achieve maximum return for us, b) gave genuinely realistic advice throughout negotiations, c) difficult elements of negotiation were professionally handled to achieve win:win for both parties 8) Getting the sale over the line: Didn't wait for things to take their natural course, but applied the right kind of pressure to all parties to achieve exchange and completion of the sale in a very short timescale Overall: In 40 years of buying and selling property throughout the country, we have never dealt with an estate agent who was as proactive, worked so constantly and closely with us keeping us up to date on all aspects of the process . We would highly recommend.

Negative experience: Not very efficient and completely dispassionate staff. Incompetent to the point of being negligent. Avoid at all costs.

Fantastic experience: Not one to write reviews unless someone really deserves one and I have to say that Samuel Wood in Ludlow did a great job recently at selling my house professionally and quickly. All the staff there are great and Jane went out of her way towards the end to constantly chase parties in the chain to make sure the sale went through on the estimated completion date.(Thank you Jane you really did go above and beyond the call of duty I feel!) I personally don't rate the majority of high street estate agents but feel my money was well spent on these guys as Samuel Wood as opposed to the services an online estate agent who Ive used in the past. Negative experience: Do not consider renting a property conveyanced by Samuel Wood you won’t get anything resolved during or after the tenancy as they are not professional enough to keep the tenant in-the-loop. I have lived in a rented property conveyanced by Samuel Wood for three years and for example, the new bath taps bought by the landlord are still sitting on the end of the bath waiting to be fitted. This is two years later! The final insult to injury is that I am now waiting for my deposit to be returned as I have moved, and it’s 10 days on. I wouldn’t mind if there was anything they would like brooch with me before disclosing the deposit, but I’m the one chasing them and saying is there a problem? They can’t be bothered to phone me back! So now they have finally told me there are a few problems and that they phoned and left a message at the 7 days point. That’s 7 days! How many people can afford to be without their deposit money for 7 days! I have asked them to get a quote for what they are proposing, even though I disagree, as I need this moving forward today and I’ve left the area. I feel like they have me over a barrel and there’s nothing I can do! I'm absolutely appalled.

My decision was based on how i was treated from the initial phone call when explaining my situation. I was not pressured to go with Samuel Wood by various follow up phone calls after my valuation, i was left to my own navigations which is always a must for me.
