Fantastic experience: What do you want and expect from an Estate Agent? First the best price for your property. Prior to instructing Carter Jonas I had received two independent valuations. Kate McKinnon advised me in her opinion those valuations were far too low and suggested a figure considerably higher. I was a little ambivalent but decided to instruct Carter Jonas to market the property at their valuation. Secondly to obtain a buyer. Within a few days of going on the market Kate had arranged several viewings which culminated in an offer being received. Whilst below the guide price the offer was considerably more than the other two valuations. I was prepared to accept this offer but again was advised that I should let Carter Jonas try and negotiate an increase on the offer. This they did which to my amazement resulted in a substantial increase on the original offer which I was more than pleased to accept. Thirdly professionalism, honesty and transparency. These qualities were shown throughout the transaction.Kate McKinnon kept me fully informed throughout and promptly returned my calls. I cannot recommend Carter Jonas highly enough and in particular Kate McKinnon. I would also mention Ian Cattle who seamlessly took over whilst Kate was on holiday and couldn’t have been more helpful. Fantastic experience: I was in need of a property following a recent relationship separation. I called Carter Jonas and spoke with Louise who took the time to assess what I needed and how best to help me find it. Louise found me a property that matched what I was looking and even more. She was so kind, helpful and took the time to listen and care something that I found other agents were not willing to do. This showed she was more concerned about the person rather than the "sale/rental". Fantastic experience: Rachel was absolutely lovely and professional all throughout the process. We were in a rush to get it processed and she was incredibly quick and supportive of that and we ended up moving into our new place in under 2 weeks which was better than we had previously hoped for.

Negative experience: (This review was originally 3 stars) So its been 1 year, and as I usually do I looked back at my review and decided to reconsider the rating I originally left. The property is fine, but its just fine. It's quite painful to get any issues looked at or resolved at carter Jonas, I'm honestly quite dissapointed with the service I'm receiving. My fridge has been broken for weeks (it comes with the house so I cant have my own) and there's no sign of this being resolved. The heating still doesnt work in 2 bathrooms (to be fair, I only complained about this twice, maybe I'll be 3rd time lucky?) And my rent has went up, although not by a big about. Still, it's a cheery on top. All and all the biggest issue is with how I'm supposed to report issues, they have a new and "better" ticket system. And let me tell you its horrible. I guess I'll keep throwing in tickets until someone decides I deserves to have a place to keep my milk from going bad in a day. I'll revist this review in the future, but its not looking bright.

Negative experience: We rented a property with Carter Jonas for the last 2 years and left the property recently. When we moved in to the property the carpets were horrendous and half of them had to be replaced within 6 months of us being there. When we left the property we paid for professional cleaners out of our own pocket and provided the receipt. Carter Jonas are now refusing to now communicate about the return of our deposit in full. The house was left in better condition than when we rented it. We replaced a number of things out of our own pocket whilst living there. We have currently raised a dispute with the TDS scheme to get our deposit back. Whenever I have rented from agents in the past my deposit has always been returned (within 10 working days) in full of the tenancy ending. They were exceptionally difficult about viewings on the property and knew we had a young baby and dog at home so we couldnt have people just walking around at random times. We originally gave specific dates and times for viewings which were completely ignored and the viewings were only changed when I refused access to the property. Great to rent from but awful to deal with afterwards! I have seen a number of comments asking people to get in touch through the feedback email address. A message to Carter Jonas - Maddy has all the emails and my details so you can reach out to me if you wish.

Fantastic experience: We had a really good experience with Rachel going through our housing process. Rachel made this process very easy and had answered any questions we had.

Negative experience: Couldnt really fault carter jonas but the reference company they use is appalling! Provided blinc with everything they requested from day 1 and just wasn’t enough. Was very stressful for us and ended in upset ending as there was no valid reason to being denied it felt like excuses. I felt as carter jonas could of done more for us towards the end but we ended up with an email basically saying they have moved on to the next person interested in the property (same day) which was very disappointing! We really wanted the property which is really frustrating when we are genuine people who tried absolutely everything to get the property

Negative experience: Where do I start? Sammy, our agent, has been absolutely fantastic — as helpful and responsive as anyone could hope for. The agent who showed us around the property was also brilliant. If this review were based solely on the Carter Jonas team, it would easily be five stars. Unfortunately, the entire experience was severely let down by their chosen referencing company, Blinc Referencing. The process with Blinc was nothing short of a nightmare. They requested an excessive amount of information, then repeatedly lost the documents we provided. After uploading the same documents again, they rejected them simply because they came from the same IP address — completely unreasonable. Despite a spotless 6+ year rental history, never missing a payment (even through Covid), a combined income more than 35x the monthly rent, and perfect employment references, we were somehow deemed not suitable. The referencing process dragged on for over a week, causing a great deal of unnecessary stress for no clear reason. Carter Jonas could significantly improve their tenant experience by choosing a more competent and reliable referencing partner. Until that happens, it’s hard to recommend the process, no matter how good the agents themselves are.

Fantastic experience: Couldn't fault them. After 7 months with an agent who more or less ignored us and rarely provided us with feedback it was a joy to work with Carter Jonas. Our sales associate provided more leads, and viewings, and always followed all viewings up and gave us feedback so that we know where we stood. We ended up with 4 buyers competing to sell their houses first, what more could one want. Our sales associate was also quickly responsive once the sale started negotiating and again facilitated the smooth progress to exchange and completion. We would undoubtedly use Carter Jonas again.

Negative experience: Initally seemed like great agents when they let us the property, but only after we signed the lease they told us the property was actually landlord managed - even though the deposit was paid to CJ. We would not have signed if we'd known this. CJ are now illegally holding our deposit while our landlord lies about damage to the property - for which no evidence at all has been submitted - and we are having to fight to get it back. Carter Jonas protect their landlord clients even when those clients are clearly acting in contravention of the Housing Act, as stated by a solicitor. This agent allows landlords to screw their tenants over. Avoid.

The lettings team was very helpful when I was about to enter into a tenancy agreement, and then when I decided to extend my tenancy for another year. Negative experience: I am not sure if Carter Jonas is any good for sales, but for lettings we have not had a good experience. They do not reply to emails and phone calls, and they leave everything for the last minute. They say that they will action things, but they don't. It could be because they are very busy but that's not an excuse to the customer. The only reason I reviewed them as 2 stars and not 1 is because they are professional when they answer the phones (which they don't normally do - you usually ended up on voicemails). I hope they get better so that I can update my review.

This is the first time I rented a property, the letting team is so professional and well support to guide me for signing all the documents. I am glad to have Carter Jonas as our property manager, at time there is repair requests, he is always responsive and prompt to send technician to come for inspection or follow up. Fantastic experience: We used Carter Jonas in Oxford, England to rent out our property and I was overall very satisfied with the service they provided. I didn´t have to do any chasing as things progressed nicely in a timely manner and they were very good at getting back to me with updates. Their rates were also much better than the other common letting agencies. The only small thing that can be improved is the delay between tenants paying the rent to Carter Jonas and the day it is received by the landlord, if that can be reduced it would further increase the satisfaction. But overall I would recommend Carter Jonas.
