They managed whole end to end process really well. They found a serious buyer for our house within 6 weeks The whole team ( Dan, Hollie, Charlie )at Gascoigne are very professional and efficient. Negative experience: Don't ever even view a property marketed by these clowns - you'll never ever stop hearing from them! Their system doesn't let you unsubscribe from their emails, but I emailed them directly and was told I'd be removed from their list some time ago - I've just had another spam email off them! Horribly unprofessional handling of your personal data, and deeply disrespectful. Even countrywide group are better than this. Will be sure to avoid using if I ever move! EDIT: They matched my name to their records and took advantage of holding my phone number to call me about this review, which really proves my point. This is a true reflection of my experience and opinion, and one wonders how many other negative reviews might have been removed following similar requests. They certainly offered in the call to remove my details, but we all know how well that's gone in the past - and doesn't change the fact that they don't have a working unsubscribe function. EDIT 2: I want to address the reply. The reason I know they don't have a working unsubscribe function is because I used it and kept getting emails. The unsubscribe link is present, the functionality is not. It's correct that I didn't email, I've checked my records and apparently that was countrywide. But I only got mixed up because all the rest of my spam email frustration has been with Gascoigne Halman, including the recent email out of the blue that prompted the review. The confirmation that I had previously used the unsubscribe function is also an incrimination, because I did not use it after receiving the most recent email.

Fantastic experience: Dan at Gascoigne Halman was the estate agent for the house we have bought, vastly more responsive and helpful than the estate agents I used to sell ours. Very helpful for arranging viewings, surveys, and negotiation between buyer and seller - also kept all involved parties up to date when coming to the final hurdle of exchange of contracts.

Fantastic experience: I was very impressed with Gascoigne Halman in Bramhall with the purchase of our new house. Max was fantastic throughout the process! He was efficient, helpful and supportive. He went out of his way to answer all our many questions. He was pleasant and made the stress of buying a house manageable. Dan was also supportive and went beyond the norm to help us. On removal day, when I went to collect the keys, it was a lovely touch to be given a Welcome to your new home card and bottle of wine to celebrate our removal! Very thoughtful!! I recommend them without reservation. It was refreshing to deal with such genuine professionals.

Negative experience: Absolute nightmare. I wanted to rent a property with these people in Cheadle Hulme and I was shown the property and I had to see the landlord too. I went through referencing which showed that I needed a guarantor. At first the landlord did not want to go ahead but finally he agreed with it as I confirmed that I could provide two guarantors and pay 12 months upfront. My guarantors went through a lot and put every detail of their income and HMRC details. The very next day the agency rang me saying one of the guarantors did not pass the affordability criterion. What I trying to say the agency did nothing to facilitate the matter. Mind you the rent was £900 a month, and I provided two guarantors who earned 30000 and 45000 annually plus me who earn 29000. I also confirmed that I could pay 12 months upfront but all the agency was saying that the landlord does not like to go ahead with someone who needs a guarantor. Well it seemed that after I found the landlord and spoke to him on Openrent he agreed with a guarantor. So they did nothing to speak to the landlord. And when it came to guarantors and sending them their links, I was told by the agency that they have sent the links to my guarantors on a Friday before the bank holiday which they did not but kept claiming that they did. After I sent them an email on the Tuesday after, they managed to send the links. And all this time, they were never ever helpful and just kept disappointing me. And the very next day they said one of my guarantors has not passed affordability. As far as I know the referencing will take more than a single day. All I am saying is that they kept dragging the process just when I needed a place to stay. Totally unhelpful

That was the case with my sale, yet the staff at Gascoigne Halman Bramhall took a lot of the strain away. I already had the property on the market with another agency for over 3 months when Nick Longworth came to carry out the survey. He knew his business and had viewing bookings within a relatively short time. The bulk of the sale process fell on Zainab Ashfaq, who also showed extreme professionalism along with her colleague, Sophie Hargreaves. They were able to effectively navigate the complexity of a delicate situation and I not only got an offer near enough asking price, but also got the sale through within a reasonable time frame. I will certainly use Gascoigne Halman again and happy to recommend them too.

Positive experience: Writing this review now we have finally moved. I am torn on how best to describe the experience we had with Gascoigne Halman. The girls in the shop especially Zainab who was the lead on our sale dealt with things to the best of their ability. It was an incredibly stressful process, not helped by a particularly difficult buyer. Our biggest cause for frustration throughout the entire process was the distinct lack of senior management support, there was basically none! Nick was almost as elusive as our buyer. As I say we have now completed so don't want carry negativity over. Thanks to Zainab, Sophie and Meghan for baring the brunt of most of our frustration and getting us over the line.
