Negative experience: Crossmeads held viewings of our flat and allowed people to rummage through our belongings and cause damage to the property. When questioned about things being touched, opened and damaged, we were told only one thing had been touched. Firstly, nothing should have been touched? And secondly, drawers were left open to my children’s clothes and a door stopper was hanging from a wall where someone had clearly stamped on it, so clearly more than one thing had been touched. As well as books being moved, toys being touched, finger prints all over a glass door. I wouldn’t let them in my home again.

Fantastic experience: I know that this is not an instant review, we have been moved in for nearly a month now, but I would like to add my two penneth about Crossmeads. They have been most helpful, responsive and a total pleasure to deal with, Olivia has been superb from day one, not pressurising or rushing on the viewing and she has been a diamond throughout with the paperwork. Nothing has been too much trouble and you get a feeling of a whole team on your case watching your back. Would I recommend Crossmeads? Damn right I would, they are superb and make the whole moving of houses, ( which can be traumatic) eem like a simple thing to do. Fantastic experience: My daughter moved to Chichester last year for work. My wife and I found a suitable flat for her to rent through Crossmeads. My daughter was approved for the tenancy and has only recently moved out since her contract only ran for fifteen months. In that time, all of us had dealings with Crossmeads in one form or another. In every case, they provided an excellent, professional and friendly service and ensured that any issues were dealt with promptly and effectively. As a landlord myself, I cannot recommend their services highly enough.

Negative experience: I would give 0 stars if it were possible. There is a severe lack of communication. My mother has been emailing to try sort issues out regarding her previous let. The only response she gets seems to be once a bad review has been added and the only response she gets is the request to remove the review.

Negative experience: Awful. We moved in without an opening inventory. Landlords beware as their ineptitude will put you at financial risk. Tenants, no communication with regards repairs and lack of trades to carry out repairs. Rented a property for 4 years through Crossmeads and suffered numerous serious issues with the property which were not rectified. Dominic does not respond to emails. The phone number for reporting issues is only for office hours so serious repairs...window falling out...are not dealt with unless it happens during their working times. And then still not resolved. Had to get environmental health involved! Steer clear. Also, when you move in, they sign you up to their energy company which is online only. Again, no way to not sign up and a nightmare to get out of as email only. EDIT, we were approached by the agent and asked to remove the review. We refused as we believe it is fair and accurate. One week later and we have still to receive a response. Fobbed off yet again. Absolutely inept.

The staff are friendly and helpful, even bringing out a missing key to the garage the same day. Some things not provided like meter readings, but all minor. Negative experience: Put a very fair review on here a couple of weeks ago. After speaking to the owner of the business I agreed to take it down and would hear back from him that day. That is my biggest gripe, lack of communication and broken promises. I just wanted clarification on my holding deposit before the deal on the house was pulled by the landlady. Only hear when I make contact or more bothered about a review not the customer!

Fantastic experience: I was a tenant at a Crossmeads let property for 6 months in Portsmouth. From start to finish the process was very easy. In the beginning the staff were helpful to get everything sorted and even helped me with signing up to the government energy bill support scheme. During the tenancy they were very easy to contact and always willing to help. If they ever needed to enter the property they always gave plenty of notice. Fantastic experience: I was an owner but a novice in the area of holiday type letting. I had a vacant Chichester property potentially suitable to rent for short terms. It was advertised and put onto the market via AirBnB. Dominic and Crossmeads arranged that bit. They were friendly experienced and very enthusiastic and responsive and so took away the anxieties of; initiating the process, appropriate provisioning, marketing, cleaning, changeovers and also the financial aspects of collecting monies. I got a realistic view on how it would all go, before I started and there was the option to completely divest myself of all the day to day responsibilities. Overall we achieved a 58% occupancy with no shocks or disasters and it was a worthwhile enterprise. I established eligibility and was able to get small business rates relief through the council so there was no need to pay any rates! Short term letting can be tricky, with last minute move ins at very short notice periods. But, I think it was important for me to be local enough to maintain oversight overall, since Crossmeads seemed responsive rather than proactive, at times. Allowing very short term visits can reduce the daily profitability, since the actual changeover cleaning fees were significantly bigger than the AirB&B 'cleaning allowance'. It might have been possible to use the short term letting as a way of testing the market for finding a buyer or longer term tenant too. The property currently has our family in it, but I would recommend and use Crossmeads again, if our circumstances changed.

Crossmeads were proactive in getting everything organised in advance of the move, they have a great process in place and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
