Fantastic experience: Leaders have been very professional and dealing with Tobias the Senior Property Manager has always been friendly approachable and efficient.More recently he oversaw the renovation of my property over several months in preparation for renting.

Fantastic experience: We have been using Leaders to manage our property for nearly one year. Toby’s communication is excellent. He is always prompt and efficient. Whether it’s handling tenant situations or managing routine inspections, he is pragmatic and professional.

Fantastic experience: I recently rented a property through Leaders in Chelmsford and had a good overall experience. The team was helpful and professional throughout the letting process, making everything straightforward from the initial viewing to moving in. They were quick to respond to queries and kept me updated at each stage, which made the whole process feel well organised and less stressful. The referencing and paperwork were handled efficiently, and I appreciated how clearly everything was explained. Overall, I’m satisfied with the service provided and i would recommend Leaders Chelmsford to anyone looking to rent in the area.

Negative experience: I am giving this rating due to the dishonesty of the estate agent. When we moved into the rental, the washing machine was gifted to us, so there was an expectation to remove it upon move out. We would have removed it, but Isabella called me while I was at work and said to leave it in the flat because the couple moving in after us had asked for it to remain. I reiterated to her that we were due to remove it, just as we had stated several times during the couple's viewing. All of a sudden, now that we are moved out, we are being charged 120 for the washing machine. Though I have disputed and stated the conversation that transpired between the agent and us, apparently, Isabella either has amnesia or Viktoria hasn't even attempted to settle this appropriately. She eluded that we were not being transparent and this is very unsettling. At best, Isabella should come forward and state that she did in fact tell me this over the phone. All I know is, I don't like dishonest businesses. While it might be one employee, if you allow an employee to lie or make false claims, it says a lot about the business.

Negative experience: This is my first ever 1-star review to any company, which says everything about how bad this experience has been. The property was advertised with a “memory foam mattress” , and the photos showed a clean, well-prepared room. In reality, what I received is completely different. The mattress is in such poor condition that it honestly feels like something no one should ever be expected to sleep on. It looks heavily worn, unhygienic, and nothing like a proper memory foam mattress. It is not reasonably usable. The only advice I have received from the agency so far is that the mattress is “in fair condition” and that I should just use a topper. I will let others decide based on the video evidence, but in my view, this is not acceptable and does not match what was advertised. I have also been told that they have contacted the landlord and are waiting for a response, but there has been no update. This only makes the situation worse tenants should not be left in this position because of delays or lack of response from a landlord. There should be accountability and proper handling of issues like this Despite raising this immediately, I have now been stuck paying for a hotel for 4 days with no proper resolution, no urgency, and no clear timeline. What is even more frustrating is the complete change in responsiveness. Before signing the contract, calls were picked up immediately and everything was handled quickly. Now, it feels like there is zero urgency or accountability. As someone managing two jobs while studying full-time, this situation has added unnecessary stress and disruption. Instead of resolving the issue, I have been reminded about my tenancy contract and rent liability, which makes it feel like the focus is more on money than actually fixing the problem. I relied on the listing and trusted the company, especially as I could not view the property in person. This has turned into a complete breakdown of trust. Extremely frustrating and very disappointing from a company with such a reputation. This will be my last tenancy with Leaders.

Negative experience: It was a really bad experience with the leaders of the new rented home. During the viewing of the property, they had agreed to ensure that the property, especially the garden and bathroom, would be in proper condition and cleaned. However, the cleanliness was very poor, and general cleaning was not carried out as promised. We didn't expect this from the leaders, and it's a very bad experience with them.

Fantastic experience: As a landlord, I have 16 separate units to keep tenanted, and ensure all is in order for the tenants so that they stay tenants. It is a big task, boilers go wrong, windows need fixing as well as the need to find new tenants when old ones eventually leave. That said Toby has proved his worth in gold as a Senior Property Manager at Leaders, standing out for his organisation, skill at resolving complex issues and for doing a great job at keeping myself and tenants in the loop, communication wise. It has definitely freed up a lot of my time to have Toby's skill and competence available. That said if you are a landlord then I would recommend Leaders based on my great experience!

Negative experience: Girl turned up for a viewing late, with her earphones in, quite unprofessional. Was snarky and unhelpful throughout, then couldn't open the door to the room I was viewing, so I had to step in (the door was not that stiff at all). Not a great impression at all. Seemed basic customer service was too much. They tried to pressure me into signing up for the room. Stated in an email that the application form needed to be filled in before the next day, or I would not be considered. But then sent me the form again the next day anyway, so clearly this was not true. 2 stars for the prompt emails, but that's it.

Dealt with many estate agents and none as unprofessional as the people who work here, no customer care whatsoever. Unless you like constantly calling them up (for no one to ever return your call) don’t bother with them and look elsewhere. Very disappointing experience.

Negative experience: Absolutely appalling customer service. Moved into a flat with blood stains everywhere disgraceful property management on top of this, have electrical sockets out of the walls everywhere and they are saying it’s not a legal requirement. DO NOT do an online viewing with these people. They moved me into a rented property where someone was stabbed and I am a pregnant woman with A high risk pregnancy now stuck in a year tenancy with these awful people who won’t even put things right. On top of that their attitude stinks. Stay well away.

Fantastic experience: I recently used Leaders to find a new tenant for my property. The service was second to none. The service was professional and highly efficient. They marketed my property efficiently and secured a number of potential tenants for me quickly. They kept me informed throughout the whole process and gave me professional advice in order to help me make informed decisions. They were in regular contact with me and always at the end of a phone or email when I had a query. They arranged all of the legal requirements needed before my tenants could move in and went over and above the call of duty to help me with a problematic contractor who I had independently used. I was particularly impressed with George in lettings. All of my dealings with him were professional, helpful and highly efficient. Leaders are also priced very competitive compared to their competitors. I would highly recommend Leaders to anyone needing a letting or estate agent and will definitely be using them again in the future.
