Negative experience: I am incredibly relieved to be done with MOV8. After six months on the market, my property remained unsold due to a total lack of proactivity and strategic direction. As an out-of-town seller, I relied on them to be my eyes and ears, but the service was remarkably behind the times. Unlike most modern agencies, MOV8 provides no client portal or online dashboard. This meant I had zero visibility on how my property was performing and was forced to constantly chase for basic updates via email and phone, often finding staff unavailable during business hours. The lack of support was staggering: • Refusal to visit: They flatly refused to visit the property to assess why it wasn't selling, insisting I travel from London to their offices if I wanted a meeting. • Lazy Strategy: Their only 'advice' over half a year was a repetitive suggestion to lower the price. They very rarely offered professional insight on property appeal or marketing refreshes. • Transactional Exit: They showed zero empathy for the lack of results, strictly enforcing their 'Terms of Business' to ensure every penny of their marketing fee was paid before they would release my Home Report. It felt like the only time they showed any urgency was when I decided to leave. I have since moved to a firm with a much more professional, hands-on approach and a far more competitive commission rate. Paying the exit fee was a bitter pill, but worth it to finally get away from such a passive, outdated service.

Negative experience: We had a very difficult and upsetting experience with Mov8. We made a huge mistake employing them and have wasted a lot of money as a result. Their sales advisor visited us and quoted us 2 prices for their services. 1 of the quotes was apparently authorised by the owner of Mov8 at a discounted rate if we paid upfront, which unfortunately we did. We should have known better than to be taken in by their too good to be true offer, used car sales tactic. Be very careful of their upfront fee approach and look very carefully at ALL their documentation BEFORE signing anything. Due to poor service, poor photography and poor communication we decided after 2 weeks that we had made a mistake employing this lot and chose to go elsewhere. As we had paid upfront we thought that that would be the end of it but how wrong were we. We received a demand for more money. We paid this again thinking that would be the end of it but yet again another demand for more money. We have dealt with several different estate agencies over the last few years including online, and Mov8 were by far the worst experience ever. We would never ever recommend this company to anyone. There are a lot of professional reputable estate agencies out there so please please do your research and go elsewhere.

We had some difficult targets to hit, and they consistently met them, calmly and without drama. I always knew who was handling my case, what the next step was, and what the costs would be. That clarity gave me confidence throughout. I moved my case to MOV8 after a poor experience with another firm, they did not even contact me and it was unclear who was dealing with the application. Fantastic experience: Having chosen Mov8 to act for us in selling our property, we left everything in their hands as we do not live locally. They dealt with everything quickly, informing us of every move. They did do all the viewings which cost £30 per visit but they tried to get as many viewers as they could in one block as often as they could. Had we been there we would have done the viewings ourselves. Everyone from receptionists, estate agents solicitors were all polite and professional. Lindsay Simpson (Property Agent) and Harris Ali ( Legal Executive) dealt with us they were very dedicated and kept us informed at every turn. They were also very patient in explaining things to us. So a big thank you to them. We had a few issues with communication between departments but overall we have been very pleased with Mov8. We would definitely recommend them.

Positive experience: Was difficult to actually speak to any of the solicitors at mov8. They were always on a call and most of our communication was done through email. There were so many different solicitors I had to deal with and it was confusing as to who was who. Must have had 6 different solicitors emailing me without my knowledge of the change. I owned my house outright yet their system stated i had a mortgage right up till I had sold my house and was buying another. All the solicitors were very nice but I felt as someone who is not clued up with what happens in these situations, there was a lack of personal care. I was asked twice to fill the same form in which had stated it should only ever be sent in once.

Positive experience: Overall a very good experience selling my property through Mov8. All staff were really friendly and efficient and all seemed really competent in their tasks. Particularly Maeve as our Solicitor and Katie closing our sale and helping us make the right decision. My only complaint was that I was allocated a Sales negotiator who was on holidays for the first 10 days of the sale, and as it sold after 12 days - (I wanted a quick sale), I thought that was a bit of a bad allocation, which I did raise. Having said that, all staff that covered were great.

Negative experience: My experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. They have no understanding of what proactive service means—it’s always up to you to follow up. Even after explaining my situation repeatedly, they left everything until the last minute. If you have a LISA account, good luck—they are terrible at handling the process. I’ve requested bank account details in over 10 emails, all of which were ignored. Unless you’re prepared to chase them every other day, don’t waste your time. Choose someone who can give you peace of mind instead. As for Hannah Elliot, she clearly has no idea how to handle client queries. Once things got difficult, she began ignoring calls and became completely unreachable. I have to send same question atleast 5 times & then call her to get answer for everything.

Negative experience: 0 Star – Unprofessional and Disrespectful Treatment Mov8 acted as the sellers' solicitors in our recent property purchase, and the experience was disgraceful. Within 5 days of moving in, we raised serious issues: * Boiler not serviced as claimed * Fire alarms out of date and non-compliant * Furniture and rubbish left behind * Exposed live wiring after electrical fittings removed We approached Mov8 in good faith and were met with intimidation, refusal to engage, and ultimately silence. No explanation, no accountability. Their handling of these issues was so poor that I’ve submitted a formal complaint to the Law Society of Scotland for breach of professional standards. Avoid this firm — completely untrustworthy and unprofessional. *Edit in light of business response* Thank you for your response. However, I must respectfully disagree with both the content and the tone of your message. The review I left reflects my honest experience and opinion based on the lengthy correspondence I had with your firm. My concerns were never properly addressed and your responses, as shown below, seemed to indicate a refusal to entertain the claim rather than address the substance of the issue I raised. I have every right to share my experience, and I stand by the statements I made in my review. I would also like to point out that I continue to find the tone of your messages, both in your initial response and in your subsequent communication, bullying and intimidating. I felt this way during the entire back-and-forth, and I still feel that way now. For me, this is a critical point in my review: I am sharing my perspective and how your firm’s conduct made me feel. This is my right. I have always tried to engage in good faith, but it was clear that your firm’s responses were designed to dismiss, rather than resolve, the issues I raised. I do not believe I received the level of professional service I was entitled to, and it’s frustrating to see your firm attempting to remove a review that merely outlines my own experience. Please note that I am fully within my rights to share my opinion, just as you are entitled to defend your position. However, I find it disappointing that instead of addressing the underlying issues, your firm seems more focused on discrediting my review. I trust that this clarifies my position, and I hope that my feedback will be taken in the spirit of improvement rather than in an attempt to discredit my experience.

Negative experience: Move8 were the solicitors of the sellers of the property I recently bought. We had some issues throughout the process. Before completion Move8 did not have paperwork regarding an outstanding Statutory Notice for the property that they should have had, given that they had also been the buying solicitor when the previous owners bought the property. This almost resulted in a delay with our sale but luckily our solicitor was able to secure the paperwork, with no support from Move8. There were also communication issues about what the sellers were leaving - I.e white goods. They tried to sell us some of their furniture but then wouldn’t engage further when we tried to confirm this. Once we moved in there were several issues with the property that breached the Scottish Standard Clauses. We reported these via our solicitors but the communication broke down after that. We’ve made several attempts to continue communication and have been shut down. I’m surprised by the number of positive reviews here as it does not match what I’ve heard via word of mouth - I will be steering clear of Move8 as either a buyer or a seller in future.

As a first time buyer with very little financial literacy I was intimidated by the prospect of buying property, but everyone at MOV8 - especially Amy who was managing our Case - was helpful, clear, direct, prompt with responses, and made it feel really straightforward and easy. Also due to personal specific circumstances we had communication preferences and technology preferences that were easily accommodated and considered - the whole experience felt very tailored to our needs.

Fantastic experience: My experience with MOV8 was absolutely amazing. From Laura getting me on board and making everything work to Emma getting me the deal on my first flat in only 2 days! What I liked the most is it’s not just a solicitor you get for the very fair price, your past on to the best part of there team. The negotiations team got me my flat very quickly. They get bids in within minutes and the importance of this I’ve realised is massive. They’re relentlessness in pursuit of you getting your dream property is what will get you the keys! Fantastic experience: I've used Mov8 four times now for selling and a purchase. I've always found them very friendly and professional too, it's a fine balance that gives such good customer relations. Unlike some of the "old school" solicitors you get the feeling that they're not the typical, you have two minutes on the phone, type of agents. They take time to get things right too. I can highly recommend them, managed to sell my most recent property in just three weeks. On top of that they're very good value for money! Thanks especially to Gareth who was very patient while I haven't been very well and to Maeve for same reason.

Negative experience: Overall my experience selling and purchasing my property with Mov8 as both my estate agent and my solicitor has not been great. While there are definitely some good people working there (for instance the sales team were great and one of the solicitors was good), they assign far too many different people to your case. I had several different estate agents, negotiators, solicitors, administrators all contacting me throughout the process. They should assign one estate agent and one solicitor to deal with a client, not several of each. It made everything very frustrating as it was hard to keep track of who was who and who I should be contacting for what. For instance the person I thought was my solicitor turned out just be a purchase negotiator who dropped out the process after I successfully bid on a property. Then they assigned account managers who were actually trainee solicitors but also had administrators sending me requests and contacting me. This wouldn't have mattered so much if all the staff were on the ball and communicated well with one another and me - but they didn't. I would for instance get duplicate requests from different people - one form in particular I ended up completing 3 or 4 times. You would think that having so many people working on your case would at the very least mean it was easy to get hold of somebody, but no - I lost count of the number of phone calls I made with no answer - particularly the solicitors and purchase negotiator. No matter how urgent a matter was it seemed responding to me could always wait until the next day. There was no sense or urgency and it seemed they were absolutely fine leaving everything to the last minute, so unsurprisingly on the date of entry missives were still not complete, they'd only just managed to inform me of the correct amount to transfer to them (after getting it wrong several times), and they hadn't even informed me of where I was meant to collect keys. Communication was very poor overall. Confusing and unclear at the best of times and non existent at the worst. Moving home is a stressful process - but I really don't think Mov8 helped alleviate any stress. They need to reform their processes and improve their communication.

Fantastic experience: Iqra and the team did a fantastic job dealing with my property purchase. Communication was quick and effective enabling me to get into the property ahead of schedule. Would throughly recommend using them.

Fantastic experience: So Far, So Excellent Best thing we did was to use Mov8 (again) for our sale of a property in Arbroath. Every staff member we spoke to acted professionally. All aspects of the sales service were both prompt and efficient. Their photographer took brilliant shots, the whole show went live quickly and best of all, our main contact, Katie Carruthers, Sales Consultant, totally ‘got it’. She understood our needs, explained things lucidly, and came up with an offers-handling strategy that totally worked for us. Actually, we sold our house in 48 hours. Exceptional, for sure, but we were in a hurry and Katie executed things accordingly. Now, on to the buying stage. Yes, we’re using Mov8 for that too!

Fantastic experience: I'm a first time buyer. Absolutely great service by Mov8. Right from the start they have been absolutely professional. Very prompt with updates almost every single day I received timely notifications from their solicitor Maeve McDade who I have to say was brilliant from start to end with her communication five stars to her.
