Fantastic experience: Following the very sad passing of our Dad last year my brother and I made the very difficult decision to sell our family home of 56+ years in Steeple Ashton Nr Trowbridge. After reaching out to several Estate Agents in the area we met Emma from Connell’s in Trowbridge who was very professional and we could tell she knew the property market and exactly what she was talking about. Connells put Dads home on the market and it wasn’t long before they found a buyer who fell in love with his property and the sale was finalised fairly smoothly at the end of April this year. We had extremely good communication from everybody at Connells throughout the process and everybody we dealt with was extremely kind, particularly to me who did get very emotional at times. A very big Thank-you especially to Henry (you were always so cheerful :), Emma and Sarah W, you all supported my brother and I through what has been a very difficult period in our lives.

Fantastic experience: I sold my house through Connells Trowbridge and the team were excellent, nothing was too much trouble and very understanding throughout. They managed to achieve full asking price within 3 weeks and were clear on next steps all the way along. We were due to purchase another property via Connells at the same time but due to personal changes we had to pull out. Again I cannot fault Connells in their understanding and professionalism during what could have been very difficult time. All I can say to Emma, Rowena, Henry and Sarah is hats off to you all for all your hard work, input and dedication and what a great team.

Fantastic experience: We have a sale and purchase that were virtually on the edge of falling through. Emma has come in as the new manager, taken these on and has turned the situation around in 24 hours. Emma is an exceptional agent. She is extremely professional, experienced, really quick to respond and take action. We would highly recommend using her. Hetti goes above and beyond and has been fantastic at keeping us updated. Positive experience: Nathan at Connells has been a pleasure to work with. He paid attention to my boxes to tick for my first home, and when a property came back onto the market which ticked many of my boxes, he called me straight away and offered me a viewing before it went back onto Rightmove. Fantastic experience: This review is specifically in regard to Ben King and his service. Ben was outstand as our Mortgage Advisor. He spent a lot of time with us making sure we found the right products and that we fully understood every step of the process we were involved in. He was fast to reply to emails and always returned calls. Nothing was too much trouble for Ben even to the point where he would work after hours to make sure we could see him in person. If everyone in the house moving game was like Ben it would not be such a stressful and painful process. Ben is and was shining light in an otherwise dark, depressing, anxiety riddled experience. Cheers Ben you are a legend mate

Fantastic experience: So far so good! Nathan showed us around the property we are buying. Firstly online, a new experience for him, and then twice in person. All the time he was knowledgeable, punctual and a wealth of information. Really good communication and a pleasure to deal with. Ben sorted out mortgage and other products for us. He has great knowledge of all the products out there and found us something that met our requirements. For me to try and do that myself would have been a huge task and I doubt I would have found anything so suitable. So well worth the cost of using him to do all of this. Hopefully the smooth process we have found to date will continue and huge thanks to them both so far.

Positive experience: MIXED FEELINGS The easy part is to overpromise. Connells in Trowbridge may be good at bringing in customers, keeping them is another matter. My experience is based on letting a property through Connells' Full Managed Service. The main issue here is that as soon as you sign a contract, you are dealing with numerous offices in various parts of the country. The office in Trowbridge is friendly and professional, but then, you are left to deal with back-office business units that operate semi-autonomously: Accounts, Maintenance, Renewals, you name it. With a large staff turnover, you can imagine the complications this may cause. The impression given is that if it does not generate an income to Connells, it gets to the bottom of the pile. This is very inconvenient for the tenant and ultimately the landlord, as issues are not reported, not followed-up or delaying tactics are implemented (slow response time, 2nd and 3rd level questions after weeks of comms). Also, plenty of emails are being sent offering additional chargeable services followed-up by chasing emails urging you to take the service. Ultimately, you have to remain on top of the situation, making sure the agreements made are honoured, the inevitability of having to deal directly with the tenant, following-up payments (occasionally a month's rent is not paid, but you have to raise this). Deductions are made without consultation (they will refer to the T&C's you signed). It leaves a bitter sweet taste as to the entire experience.

Negative experience: If I could go with no stars, I would. The worst letting agents I've ever dealt with. They broke into my home illegally and left me with lasting, overwhelming anxiety. They were completely unhelpful during the full duration of my tenancy, which further contributed to the anxiety disorder. From customer facing staff to the top managers, they do not care about the tenant and will whatever they can to extract money from you.

Negative experience: Randomly put a for sale sign right outside my house for no apparent reason, had several people knocking the door asking which house is for sale, when we asked connells why is there a sign on my house was basically told to drum up a bit of business, asked them to remove it so nobody else comes knock and sign is still there after several days..

Fantastic experience: I have recently managed the sale and purchase of my mother's home. We chose to buy and list with Connells in Trowbridge. The move was not without it's challenges but at all times Connells were professional and easily contactable. Toward the end of the process we were looked after by Charlotte who gave a really great, personal and reliable service. She was approachable and kind and really worked above and beyond to keep in contact with me and help me resolve some of the problems we faced. She's a total assett!

Fantastic experience: I was not sure I wanted to let my home. My husband is working away for the year and I have been spending my time between my London home and Trowbridge. I called Connells as we have a relationship with the Financial advisor after our home through them. The professionalism we experienced during previous encounters in addition to the warmth we received in the office put my mind at ease. Sam in the Lettings section made an appointment and came round. He reassured me that he would look after my home and find the best tenants for us. He supported me every step of the way and was available. If I called when he was otherwise engaged he always called back. I felt that this was a successful team.Sam organised the contents and building insurance too. My home is successfully rented out. If you want a professional company try Connells.

Fantastic experience: I've used various Estate Agencies over the years, but this was the first time with Connells. Sam Doveton was excellent. Brilliant communication throughout and the letting team were extremely professional. Again, just used Connells as tenants left. New tenants found quickly and extremely smooth change over. Superb service again by Sam and his team.

Negative experience: If you want to sell your house, don't use these guys. In the 28 days I had to sell my house, they provided one time-waster viewing. After the viewing, the agent just left without providing feedback and drove off. When I questioned the agent, she apologised telling me she'd thought I'd gone back into my house. However, she promised to update me once she'd heard from the viewers but I never heard from her again! Don't trust them. I've also read stories of people contacting them to arrange viewings multiple times and Connells never calling them back. I suggest you look at their national reviews on Trustpilot so you can understand the bigger picture of Connells and all the disappointment they cause.

Negative experience: Constant phone calls begging me to allow them to manage my buy to let. I don't know how many times and each time I'm more aggressive than the last and they still don't get the message. The first time I said clearly I'm not interested but thank you for the offer and should be the end of it. Extortionate management fees, poor service and clearly only looking to rip anyone off that they can. Boarder line harassment!

We put an offer in on a house we viewed with them, didn't hear anything back so a couple of days later we chased them up. They then told us they would only put our offer toward to the owners if we took our house off the market and relisted with them. Basically cowboys . Avoid at all costs .

After receiving much lower evaluations from neighbouring firms for my property, Connells have gone above and beyond to sell my home for the right price. Negative experience: Buyers and sellers beware, if use Connells, prepare for more stress than is necessary. Thay don’t even deserve 1 star, there slack and never kept me informed, even took time off work to do viewings for them as they were TOO BUSY to do them self’s or even the simplest of tasks. Use Kavanaghs across the road.

Negative experience: £550 in fees to secure a rental property. Ridiculous - the usual cost in Trowbridge for letting agent fees is £350. They do not reduce their fees or negotiate on this. They also try to charge £114 per year to extend the tenancy, which is also ridiculous. There is no need to sign a new contract every year. If you call them to return their calls, that person will inevitably be out. Your message will not be forwarded, and that person will then be angry with you for not returning their calls. I find their attitude to be unnecessarily hostile and unpleasant. They also had no idea about the property that I rented, and could not answer any of my questions. I was very glad that the original tenant was at the property and could answer my questions. Overall an entirely disagreeable experience and I am glad I am done with them.

Negative experience: Horrendous estate agents. Moved into a rented property with issues that were reported on several occasions that were never resolved and charged to us upon moving out. Given that they are one of the most expensive estate agents charging over £500 in admin fees we expected a much better service but it was beyond poor. Good luck to anyone who requests their deposit, avoid if you're looking to rent.

Fantastic experience: I previously instructed another Trowbridge letting agent. Being dissatisfied with their services I approached Connells where I was fortunate enough to find Freya & Chloe. It was a complete and utter breath of fresh air, realistic, friendly and utterly committed to their jobs. Freya offers something that no other agent has been able to provide and an absolute joy to work with. Under whatever the situation Freya has the personality, skills and diplomatic approach that sets her above the rest.
