Negative experience: This 1 Star review is more based on the financial loss caused to us by the seller using Watkins and Thomas more than the estate agents themselves. We were first time buyers, found a property though Watkins Thomas, made an offer which was accepted. Opted for a Level 2 Surveyors report paid all legal fees for the searches etc… Only thing left was to exchange and agree on a completion date. We have been chasing sellers for an update for over 6 weeks through the solicitor and the estate agent, only to be told that the sellers have refused to move out as they did not find a house to buy themselves. Leaving us at us at a loss of approx £1500 in all the surveyors and legal fees. The property has now been removed from listings. Utter shambles.

What we received from Jenny was completely above and beyond what you would expect from your own estate agent. The team really care about their customers and this is probably down to it being a local company (as well as just being nice people in general). We will NEVER use a nationwide chain again even if they do have an office in town and employ local people. Because they evidently just don't care! Fantastic experience: My partner and I are first time buyers. We have bought our first property through Watkins Thomas and were taken care of by Steve. - The service was above and beyond, calling us after hours to give us updates. Steve and the wider team handled everything very smoothly and were able to get answers to all of our questions. Whilst Steve was off we were contacted by his colleague to let us know that anything they could help with would be dealt with by this other individual [I think his name was Dan]. Negative experience: We had the misfortune of viewing a property of interest marketed by Watkins Thomas. We found Stephen from the company very distant and seemed as though he didn't listen to what we were asking,we had a second viewing which was overseen by Stephens wife Jenny,also employed by company,we thought she was lovely,gave us some good advice but when her husband found out she denied even saying it so branded us as liars,things got a bit heated. Stephen did ring us late one evening to apologise. The whole experience moved at a snails pace and we were constantly chasing progress. It is unprecedented time in the world just now and that includes housing market so you have to make allowances,we thought we had but still we received rude treatment. We have dealt with four different agencies,two have been outstanding,two have been a disgrace one of which is applicable is Watkins Thomas,Stephen told me he had been in the business for 38yrs. I am one that had a really awful experience with them but there is a lot of happy clients too so this is only our experience, we were committed to the property coming down to view,at some distance,sorting out livery,looking at the area,very disappointing,not all agents fault,the vendor was difficult too.

Met local man Steven at the property was on time, gave me a very honest value and opinion, property went on sale, within 3 weeks property was sold, 1 and a half months later sale wrapped up finished..no hassles, no worries, Steven sorted everything, plus kept me informed on the proceedings every week till the signing over date. I live in London so the information bit was very important as didn't live locally. Fantastic experience: Exceptional from the initial valuation all the way through to completion. This is an easy review to write. I rediscovered Watkins Thomas via google search. I owned a house in Hereford but had moved a great distance away and wanted to sell. I was only able to visit the office once, despite this the whole team were extremely helpful and fully understanding about my situations and the distance apart. They were a font of knowledge, with recommendations from Solicitors to local trades persons that I needed to get the house into a great condition to sell. Their advice must have been good because of it I had an offer within 24 hours of it being placed on sale and accepted an offer within 48 hours.
