Fantastic experience: Last summer, after returning from Norway to the University of Stirling, I was in dire need of a place to reside. One of my university colleagues chance to recommend Stirling Property Shop to me. The staff was friendly and provided me with comprehensive assistance throughout the procedures and viewings. I currently reside in one of their Queen Street apartments, which is quite spacious with all the amenities I need including a little patio. Every property issue was resolved as quickly as possible, and there was clear and current communication. The rates for the apartments or rooms available to students in Stirling are incredible. I would definitely suggest Stirling Property Shop if you're looking for apartments.

Negative experience: Stirling Property Shop have a tenant who impersonates himself to be their partner/worker to potentially scam or carry out his personal deals. When I reported this individual to Stirling Property Shop and the Director, Kevin - to my surprise, I was greeted wih the rudest response imaginable, without an apology, without any sense of responsibility that one of their tenants is going around using their name and scamming people. I was abruptly told to report it to the police and that it had nothing to do with them. If this is how they react and respond to something as serious as this - it seriously raises big red flags on their ethos and practice.

Fantastic experience: Cannot fault Kevin! Or any of them, always answer ever question and are so helpful and kind. They have all made my first ever home such a dream to live in! Couldn't fault them would find any others like them!

Negative experience: STUDENTS DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE! My flatmates and I were living in a flat with black mould, faulty electrics, damp, and even a hole in the bathroom floor that when we moved were point blank told that they were not fixing. In the beginning any maintenance was done in a timely manner but after about three months every time we contacted them for maintenance, in person or over the phone or even in email, nothing was done. Most of the time we got told to 'leave it with them' and then had no further contact from them. There was also constant issues with the boiler, despite complaints. One of the other maintenance issues directly broke our lease agreement, and still they did nothing even after a formal emailed complaint. On top of everything, our rent was extortionate for the quality of the flat and the service we received from the Property Shop. It really is a shame as the flat would have been rather nice, and we probably would've tried to continue to stay there if they could have just be arsed to attempt to fix some of the issues.

Negative experience: Terrible,terrible experience which is still on going.I have 2 months left of my tenancy agreement left and I can’t wait for it to end.I viewed the property as unfurnished and they told me it was unfurnished so we sealed the deal.Next step was to collect the keys @ said property prior to me moving in and they had fired all the furniture thru the door after accepting my money.After this drama they were supposed to have moved the furniture out and failed to do so,shortly after heating failed and it seems they didn’t care sent emails and numerous calls eventually it was repaired.Still have an ongoing problem with dampness again many emails and calls and they don’t care. Kevin is unprofessional,rude,ignorant and arrogant.Just recently I’ve been harassed by him and his accomplice (owner of said flat)I will update you again of the outcome of this dire situation.My advice stay clear do not use for fear of losing your sanity.Well at long last my nightmare tenancy agreement has ended,it’s been absolutely horrendous.They even attempted to take more money from me at end of agreement with false accusations! Cowboys at best do not engage with them I repeat do not engage with them.You will live to regret it, choose another agent .

Negative experience: Disappointing and unprofessional. Applied to view a property weeks ago and was hit with a generic “fill in a rental CV”. Heard nothing back until Friday 31st of October when Declan phoned and chased me for a viewing on Sunday morning at 11:45. Drove 45 minutes and showed up with my partner and 19 month old son. No agent showed up. The tenants in situ had the good grace to open the door and let us in for a brief tour. The property was advertised as detached, which it is NOT. The Landlord lives in the same property through the wall which has been separated with a boarded up door?? Council tax and bills need to be split with the landlord next door and arranged via the estate agents? Weird. When I called to give feedback on the disappointing arrangement and to let them know Jamie wasn’t at the property to show us, Declan was incredibly rude on the phone and tried to cut me off from finishing my sentence. He denied that there was no agent at the property but I’m sure the landlords MANY CCTV cameras dotted around our potential new home pointed at all entry points can prove otherwise. Below is proof of the arrangement with all dates and people involved. Wouldn’t waste my time with these cowboys who lie to get people through the door and then gaslight you in to thinking you’re the unreasonable one. Vile.

Negative experience: Lived in a moulded flat for over a year with constant contact about issues, however everyone we called every time ig was dismissed or told that I would be called back, but never was every time. Every time we asked about getting something sorted it would be ignored or pushed back to never be sorted. Just because we're students shouldn't mean we don't receive respect. Heard from many friends they've had exactly the same treatment with this agency. Would never consider a property under their name again.

Negative experience: Do not recommend, had severe mould problem that they refused to fix. When coming into their office to discuss, manager very inappropriately spoke to me and flatmate as we are young females, demanding respect and they we ‘look him in the eye’. I recommend anywhere but here.

Fantastic experience: Really helpful from check in to check out, of all the rental agencies I've had dealings with SPS are the best I've dealt with, particularly with maintenance issues regarding property, a contractor out nearly always within a day or two of reporting any repairs regarding Plumbing etc, can't fault Kevin and his staff, really helpful and you can tell this is a family run business as they go that bit extra to help you feel at ease.

I spoke with some people who invested several weeks, even months to get to find a place to live. Luckly, I was served by Claire and Stirling Property Shop staff. The only agent who was quickly responsive, who showed real interest in helping us find a flat to rent. We exchanged a couple e-mail's, a phone call, met to visit the place Claire suggested, and two days later the contract was signed. On a scale of 0 to 10 I would give them 11.

Negative experience: Great at first. However, upon leaving the property they all but stopped communicating with us and only responded once a formal complaint was threatened. This led to the MD Kevin Valentine writing bizarre late-night emails suggesting my neighbours and my pets didn't like me. So that is all you need to know about this operation. If you need to know more, just Google and read the numerous articles about the place.
