Positive experience: Mixed bag. Initial appointment and follow up support with Gareth was great as there were quite a few delays my end in getting listed, but once the property was listed the support really dropped off, viewings weren’t being followed up on and contact was sporadic. When I signed the contract, I was told they’d do all the viewings but turns out they have one person who does viewings and only on fixed days each week. We tried to arrange this once but she turned up forty minutes late without keys to the house and told my partner to do it because she wasn’t familiar with the house, so we ended up doing all the viewings ourselves. Janice was really helpful in helping us secure out new house hence the higher score but honestly I don’t think I’d use them again.

Negative experience: I chose this company because the lady that came out, was really lovely and she was so experienced. Her name was Janice, she said she would support me in the process. I had a really old house that needed a lot of work to make it market standard so I did ask her opinion. I did work like fixing kitchen units, painting, repairing cosmetic issues and trying to freshen it up. I also did lots to the garden. I had asked Janice prior to video if she could come out to make sure it was ok. I put my dog in school this day so I could concentrate as obviously with her skills and experience I was eager to get a quick sale. I waited but she didn’t turn up. When I called I was told she was with another client. This was very disappointing and disheartening. I decided just to take photos and send to people for advice. This company are one of the most expensive in this line of business. I also want to add I did majority of viewings myself. In relation to the photo shoot. The photographer was only in my home for 35 minutes. The video had included something in the stair well I’d asked not to include. There was also very little thought and imagination that went into this. As my house was the closest to a national tourist attraction and was right behind me. She failed to include this and actually another house was included across road. I had to help coordinate to get it up to standard and because she did such a quick job. During the 35 minutes she spent most of that as she managed to lock herself in one of the rooms. She seemed to miss the unique selling point of the house which I had to advise. This package costs around £800. Very disappointing only managed to get it to a decent standard by me. In relation, to the surveyor, he brought a student and was in my house well over 2 hours. He marked that I needed a new boiler just because it was old even though it was in perfect working order. Other than that the surveyor did a good job but never noticed a major flaw in the outside area. I was told at initial meeting with Janice I would only need to deal with her and no one else. During the course I had to speak to several other people. An offer was put quickly into house just a few weeks after survey. I since found out that failure for the prospective buyers getting mortgage in place etc the survey had now expired. So by the time I had now had everything in place at my end I was told I had no choice but to get a new survey report done literally a few days after it expired. I did not find this out by Slater and Hogg but by the surveyor company, initially I thought it was an error. As I’d received offer months before. I believe this is due to a lack of communication between the estate agent and prospective buyers getting mortgage. So I was massively inconvenienced by having to allow a second survey. When there was more than enough time for the process to be sorted prior to survey expiring. Right up to the Friday before the prospective official move in day it still wasn’t confirmed if it was going through. Personally for the money I spent choosing Slater Hogg and Howisen. It did not deliver what I had wanted or expected. It’s just a money focused company once you’ve signed the contract they are then focused on getting next sale. I have given 1 star based on when Janice did put time in she was great but this was not consistent throughout. Also the advertising Slater and Hogg did was thorough.

Fantastic experience: Received a fantastic service when selling my home. From Gareth when he valued my house to Janice keeping me updated on everything from viewings to offers and Craig for helping with the mortgage. We really cannot thank you all enough you have been amazing

Positive experience: Leah in Stiring and Michael in repairs were amazing. Now the issues: The inventory on entering and leaving the property should be complete by the same person. Only a few pictures were taken when entering the property and the comments made it seem like the property was amazing. It wasn't. (Old paint had been used and it was stinking. The fridge was mouldy the sink was stinking, the washing machine didn't work, plumbing fitment had been removed, the oil tank outside was also stinking, possible leak, the oil boiler had to be repaired, we were cleaning for two days after moving in. So it wasn't amazing........We couldn't use one room and couldn't open the windows in the back two.) If you move into a property, take a lot of pictures and reply to the inventory with comments. On leaving, someone different did an exit inventory and hundreds of pictures were taken making it seem like we destroyed the place when damage shown was their on entering the property. The landlord tried to keep part of the deposit based on damage that was mentioned. I believe the landlord even without the exit inventory from Slater Hogg, would have tried to keep some money. If this is infact the case, renters need to be better protect and Slater Hogg need to do a better job in stopping landlords from doing this. Slater Hogg did not respond to my initial inventory comments. They should have followed this up. After I shared some of the disgusting pictures and details of the condition of the property, the full deposit was finally returned. Mainly due to Michael and deposit Scotland. A simple change in the Slater Hogg process could protect tenants better.

Negative experience: Very unfortunately, at least some (if not all) pictures of the properties are too old and so are misleading. I drove 3.5 hours to Stirling to view the property at 10A Upper Craigs, to which I said I was even ready to pay the deposit even without viewing the property. The advertised images were fantastic but when I was stressed to come for a viewing, and I did, it was a messed up property which had all doors broken, walls leaking/dripping, punch-broken doors, hung cabinets and unclean floor and shelfs. The place also had bugs and insects and showed no signs of maintenance. Please check out the images of how the property actually looked like and how it was advertised.

Fantastic experience: Leah has been extremely polite, professional and helpful throughout my time interacting with her and SHH. I especially like the process the SHH team take in regards to rental properties, it’s fair and simple which is something you don’t always get nowadays. Negative experience: 27th May, I picked up the keys for a flat in Kirkcaldy. Leah Anderson at slater & hogg helped me through this process. Leah was incredibly helpful, kind, and personable. Most of us have experienced how difficult it is when seeking somewhere to rent. Especially those of us with disabilities of any kind. Oftentimes, you're left feeling less than human. Leah really went out of her way to be communicative, proactive, and generally very kind. Leah gets a 5-star review. However, I have come back to edit my original review. Unfortunately, the good experience of being made to feel human and the clear, proactive communication ended with Leah.

Fantastic experience: I have been using SHH to manage my properties in Stirling for several years and would recommend them to others looking for a fully managed service. Nikki Kaur is my portfolio manager and is fantastic; always available on the end of the phone to talk through options and keep me updated via email of any developments. No property is without the occasional snag and SHH have always been prompt to respond with any issues raised by the tenant, investigate them, then report back to me with estimated costs and timeframe for repair. As we all know it can often take a few days to arrange a tradesman or engineer to attend a property, however, I am often pleasantly surprised at how quickly issues are addressed using their list of trusted contractors. I know Nikki, Lisa and the team work hard to ensure my responsibilities as a landlord are fulfilled, whilst also ensuring my tenants are comfortable in my properties which is important to me. I would recommend their services without hesitation.

Positive experience: I will be honest and open with this review Nikki Kaur our property manager has been fantastic with dealing with repairs and has been friendly, approachable and always happy to help I will say, there are times where repairs/upgrades to the property, could be dealt with slightly quicker, of course this isn't Nikki's fault, if it's a repair that is something we can't live without like heating/hot water/oven/bathroom/electrics/gas These things need to be fixed ASAP urgently, I understand there would be procedures and approvals and they take time, but it's frustrating when we don't receive an update and we have to constantly chase contractors ourselves

Fantastic experience: We moved from the United States and had a difficult time finding a flat to let. My family of 4 and our cat were living in a hotel. We stopped into the office and right away Lisa took all our details and contacted a few properties that fit our needs. When one property would not rent to us because we have a cat or a property was not available for a month Lisa found a property for us to view right away. Amanda worked so hard on a Saturday to show us the property. Amanda and Lisa were so helpful through the background check process. They were in constant to let us know what the next steps were. They have been incredibly friendly and understanding to our family.

Fantastic experience: What can I say about SHH? In less than three weeks I've gone from viewing a property to documentation to moving in without a hitch. Throughout it all I was lucky enough to be guided by Amanda for the viewing and Lisa for everything else. Whether I had a question about the boiler or the deposit Lisa was on hand to reassure me - always replying with speed, accuracy and a smile to boot. Negative experience: Comeletely a rubbish agency. Never picks up phone nor responds to any messages. Do your self a favor avoid this agency in total cost. I had been trying to reach this agency since last February. Calling them for stright 5 days now. No answer no reply. Bloody nothing.
