Negative experience: Absolutely shocking customer service. We previously used Lancastrian and this time was a dreadful experience, never again. Staff turnover has clearly affected this business. Lack of contact and response destroyed our sale with the buyer citing Lancastrian as their reason for withdrawal. Any contact from Lancastrian was poorly handled and staff lacked professionalism. A formal complaint was written to the director who dismissed issues raised and refused to take any accountability. We were left with huge solicitor bills for the incompetence. Be warned, there are plenty of other, better local estate agents out there.

Fantastic experience: Friendly, professional and very efficient team with a good knowledge of the local market. James, our main contact, was particularly helpful - contacting us with relevant updates without being intrusive and being very responsive whenever contacted. Although we have not bought a property through the company as yet, our interactions with the Lancastrian Estates team have been a totally different experience from dealing with other estate agents in years gone by. The collaborative use of the street app to facilitate and manage bookings is a revelation and takes the hassle out of endless phone calls trying to arrange viewings, only to be told by some agents you can view the property two weeks on Monday at 4.59 pm for 10 minutes... not the case with Lancastrian Estates, the street app allows you to offer feedback that Kevin and his team genuinely welcome, they offer prospective viewers of properties an objective view and want to make sure that you are buying a property that is right for you and not just looking for a quick sale. We would recommend using Lancastrian estates without hesitation; this technology-based approach to property is the way forward.

Negative experience: Shockingly rude and unhelpful when called about a house alarm on one of their properties that's been going off for 5 days. For the 2nd time. Their number is the only indicator we have to get in touch with someone about coming to turn off the alarm, new owners or old owners or whoever currently has keys. We just want them to get in touch with whoever can turn this off. Instead we were met with rude staff with an unhelpful attitude, backchat and a tone of "not our problem". If your sign is the only advertisement on a vacant house, you're the one getting the calls. Least you could do is not be an arse about it. Disgusting behaviour

Fantastic experience: Recent purchase on a property through this company went well, as a purchaser in this case Sarah made regular contact on behalf of the sellers and was always very polite. We were let down on this occasion by our solicitors whose communication was poor, this led to unnecessary delays which we know caused a degree of concern from the sellers. Sarah smoothed the way and we got over the line today. We would recommend Lancastrian Estates but avoid CGM Law of Windermere, they’re too slow!

Negative experience: We tried to buy a house through them which ended up falling through because the sellers changed their minds about the sale (which of course is not the fault of Lancastrian Estates). However, we did not have the best experience with Lancastrian Estates either. Firstly, they charged us £30 per person (£60 in total) for AML checks the moment our offer was accepted - not every estate agent passes this fee on to clients. Secondly, Lancastrian Estates repeatedly assured us that the sellers were keen on selling, even though we were getting very different vibes off the sellers, just from the time it was taking them to respond to even simple questions from us, and from the fact that 6 weeks after agreeing the sale we had yet to receive a memorandum of sale. We had already sank money into having surveys done, instructing solicitors etc and would have paid even more into the process if we hadn't trusted our guts. When the sellers pulled out, we got a quick phone call from Lancastrian Estates to say that the sale was off - no further support, no other property recommendations etc. Kerry, who was following the progression of the sale up until that point, just stopped responding to emails from us. After we had spent almost £500 (on ID checks, surveys etc) they completely ignored us. We are now making another purchase through a different estate agent and the experience is so much better - no AML fees, better communication, more after sales support...
